  1. Woah now. This thread will die if we can't talk about overpriced Combat Machines.
  2. A bump to let everyone know that you can now discuss AFUK classifieds listings in this thread.
  3. There are people who know way more about both by the way. Both have pretty strong Facebook followings so you might want to have a look there also.
  4. Tippmann M4s and KC02s are both really well supported and I don't think you'd be disappointed with either. Basically the question is whether you want an M4 or a Ruger .22 I have no doubt that you could get a Tippmann M4 shooting as straight and as far as your KC02, but I would consider the issue of feeding heavier BBs with the Tippmann mag (just look into this - I don't know the answer). Assume at worst it's a case of switching a mag spring. Additionally I've found lying down with that long M4 mag is a bit of a pain occasionally and the Tippmann cannot take a short mag AFAIK. If you're sniping with that KC02 then this could be a minor issue.
  5. Doesn't matter. Both can shoot extremely consistently if you set them up correctly.
  6. Done testing the new anti-bumping stuff. Thanks for all your help (you did nothing to help).

Very welcome. Any time you need assistance like that again, don’t hesitate to ask!:D:lol:

  7. Tonight (Friday)/this morning (Saturday) the forums are archiving everything more than 2 years old and resizing/compressing oversized images.

You'll still be able to look up these threads but they'll be on another table in the database (again, this shouldn't affect your experience at all - it's just technical stuff). Should improve performance marginally but is mostly future proofing against using up too much disk space or the database becoming too big to read rapidly.

There might be a slow down whilst this happens as it's moving ~27,000 topics and resizing ~33,000 image thumbnails. Full sized images will be resized through Saturday.

For a lot of you this should reduce your total attachment sizes (allowing for you to upload more). Remember you can visit https://airsoft-forums.uk/attachments/ to delete your unwanted images.

  8. We've just migrated so there might be some general buggy-ness, downtime or just slow speeds for the next couple of days.

If you're having as serious issue with the forums related to the move then consider posting here:

  9. A quick reminder that the forums will be going down for part of today in order to be migrated. Don't be too worried.

  10. X-Fire.org will custom cut you one if you're really struggling.
  11. I believe one has been able to do weights (and muzzle energy) with the Xcortech ones since the early 2000s Still looks like a great bit of kit if it's anything like the build quality of their tracer units.
  12. There are also apps to spoof 'user agents' that might be more effective. There's certainly ways around a website detecting the device you're on so it should be very possible
  13. You can ask your browser to 'request the desktop version' of a website - in theory a website can't really know the difference unless it needs something ancient like Flash (which isn't present on most phones anymore). Everything else can be spoofed. Try that first by checking the options drop-down (top right on most Android browsers) when viewing the page. iOS will likely have something similar.
  14. The exclusion for that entire section is still related to a 'valid defence'. I'm not sure what you're talking about. The OP is asking whether any change from 51% bright colours is allowed - it's not without a valid defence. Be it through manufacturing, modifying or anything else. If you do have a valid defence then modify away as you're effectively exempted from all prosecution made through that part of VCRA. What's with the 'Fite me IRL' nonsense?
  15. I believe we've already clarified that. However, the nuance you're missing is what VCRA deems a 'valid defence' - though UKARA is accepted, there is no precedent for anything else. Some sellers - though I know we're talking about 'manufacturing' here - would accept pictures of you playing, a skirmishing site membership (without UKARA registration) and the like. That's where the grey is.
  16. That particular part of VCRA doesn't care how the gun works, how hard it hits etc. - only that it looks like a real one. So even if it was broken then it'd still be 'manufacturing'.
  17. You're right, Prisce, in that it's considered 'manufacturing' an RIF. So yeh, it's not legal.
  18. Still a lot of those knocking about if you look outside of the UK. They're great though.
  19. You're correct, but the issue is this covers the manufacture of RIFs too. I.e. removing the paint. Also, with buying, the liability is on the seller (the shop or person) and not the eventual owner. However, with manufacture the liability is on the person who manufactures it. With both of the above: There is nothing about ownership. The law governs those few minutes in which the crime is being committed. Unlike owning a section 5 firearm where you're breaking the law just by owning one regardless of where you got it.
  20. Actually it could be. A 'defence' isn't really properly defined by anyone other than the retailers. Not yet at least. However, I'd be sure to record going a few times first (keeping a receipt if you paid online or just writing down the dates at a minimum). I'd just not want to be that person that gets taken to court over it.
