That cock'n'balls shaped BB bag I mentioned earlier is my solution to a few problems with those bags ppl make for fleabay. The main one is that a soft bag is fuck all use for pouring BB's b/c wherever you hold it with one hand one end is hanging down - either the bottle neck 'spout' making a bid for freedom, or the bag holding the BB's below so they aren't pouring. You can just about wrangle a handful inside the bag, but it's not as quick and easy as you want if you're doing it in the field under fire/taking time when your team need you. Most hi cap mags or speedloaders have a hatch that is too small to pour straight into from a bottle neck, but if you constrict a BB container spout much more than that the BB's jam up against themselves so then you have to shake it, making a noise and taking yonks as they only pour a few more before jamming again. Best bet is to hold the mag/speadloader in one hand with the crook of your thumb wrapped around the opening acting as a funnel, which allows you to pour straight out of a bottle neck without any bother. But a bottle rattles, hence using a bag, right? And a bag is awkward to pour from... How about both? More of the bottle than just the neck & lid so it adds a bit of structure to the bag which makes it easy to pour from, sort of a scoop shape with the bottle cut diagonally from the shoulder and whatever size/shape of bag you like/can sew underneath that. To stop it rattling I used that thin white packing foam wrap stuff cut to fit exactly and glued to the inside of the bottle. I then glued the outside of the bottle to the inside of an old Norje sleeve and stitched through the bottle and cloth to make sure. I would say it's the dog's bollocks, but you can see that it's actually the donkey's cock and bollocks That shape came about purely by accident because I wanted the bottom to have the same footprint as a Crusader cup, so it would fit neatly into a PLCE canteen pouch. So I turned the cup upside down and drew round it, added a bit for the seam and sewed it. Obviously using a sleeve gives it a foreskin, but it's the simplest way to go about it - a sleeve is already exactly the shape you need to fit a bottle into. Tip: be careful not to over-tighten the lid - it's easily done and it makes the top disc pop off the threaded part of the lid!

@Cheeky V: nah, it's a dead loss with that much scratch i'd say :'( is there anyway i could pay you for some of the uncut article? I might have more luck with a dremmel, going at it gently a bit at a time rather than all or nothing.

Best check with your site/s what they allow though...

Shotgun primers are cheaper and you can use them pretty much anywhere. 9mm are louder so more fun

Oh, well that makes all the difference! What was I thinking!?! I'll have two, please... rolls that is, obviously. Mad not to at that price, eh?

Whats the worst experience with 'Cod Softers'

I can't use those 3 chamber ear plugs - my lug'oles are too small! I can only get the 1st dome inside and the 2nd not quite sealing lol. The ones I use cost me £160 to have custom made. I'm still deaf tho -

Oh well, it was a nice idea while it lasted What do you reckon to the sound attenuation of the Comtacs, Mack? As a sound engineer I can swear to the sound absorbing properties of Rockwool loft insulation, so a bodge is possible, but you'd want to make sure that it was well sealed because the 2nd to last place you'd want that stuff is in your ears! But if the sound reproduction isn't worth the effort, fuck it... -

@Loz: yeah Sordins/Comtac I/II do the same but with added radio comms. @Fumps: I'll got a complete MK IV NBC suit, overboots, respirator, gloves, decon-kit, the works lol! Why? Because I wanted one and airsoft is a good excuse -

Sordin or Comtac replica headset by Z-Tactical for hearing protection and still be able to hear what you need. Can't vouch for them myself as I've yet to take the plunge, but at £60-ish they beat the pants off the real deal at £200-odd. James, you have/had both right? Also: Goretex is your friend and the issue Remploy DPM kecks are always coming up on fleabay, approx £15 but sometimes cheaper. You don't need the jacket as running around will keep you warm enough, but soggy kecks always puts a downer on the situation. Best to add belt loops to them IMO - see the current DIY thread for pic. -

Yeah Fumps, I wouldn't worry too much. You already know what people are like: as members of a particular group we have ways of bigging up our chests at the expense of 'them', some undefined other whom are not 'us'. At the moment you naturally feel like we are 'them' because we have a common jargon, shorthand, and experiences similar enough that a full explanation isn't necessary, all of which you are yet to learn. But obviously you don't feel like one of the nebulous 'them' whom our inclusiveness and camradery exclude... so it wrankles, because, shit, you're here: that has got to count, right? We could be football supporters, ballet dancers, traffic wardens, real special forces operators... no doubt you belong to several of this type of group yourself - you know what it's like: you don't have any specific animosity towards 'them' as individual people, in fact you'd probably be happy to tell them all about it and welcome them 'in'. Now that's not to say that there aren't some of us whom, for whatever reason, suffer from a degree of insecurity which manifests as a strong desire to belong to a well defined group, to create strong bonds within the group, etc., but usually all in a dysfunctional unconscious way, which is the usual clique modus operandi. Still, you'll find people like that all over... On behalf of airsoft as I understand it, welcome -
Two hundred and fucking what? No mate.

Another idea for finding grenades I had a while back is attaching one of those things they make for finding lost keys etc to it. Tape/paint/etc relies on being line of sight with it - if you could shine a torch on it, why not just shine a decent torch when you're looking for it? I've got one that I bought for $11 recently that wouldn't just illuminate it well enough to see it, it'd dry it and any puddle it might be in too. Clearly (see what i did there?) the problem is that they end up where you can't see them at all easily = welcome ears

That's pretty close to the idea I originally had for my G36 project. Given that i haven't bothered with the ball ache that is trying to figure out how to a] afford & b] bodge a G&P Masterkey kit + M870 onto the underside rail of the RIS I put on there, and looking at yours, I'm thinking I should have gone with a C length RIS rather than K now...

Like the idea. Maybe use filler and a couple/few of layers of gloss paint to give it the look of plastic...? Welcome to the forums We may meet f2f if you ever get to Skirmish just down the road from Pheonix.

Dunno how you find it, but i've had much better results communicating with Chinese people through Google Translate than Japanese. It may be because I use Simplified Chinese rather than Traditional and whomever i've spoken too is able to guess what i must be on about from the context, but Japanese is more complex and it seems like even the slightest ambiguity in my English creates the most random Japanese re-translations. But anyway, cheers for the linky - I had no idea it was so complex -

What barrel length is the Glock, Sp00n? My vz61 recently chrono'd at 320FPS - that's just from putting a PDI 127x6.01mm barrel in it. - I'm seriously considering one of these springs, or this set as upgrades, but only if I can get a sensible trigger response. I might see if I can knock an email together in Google-Chinese and try to ask JG about the motor specs... Although now i've seen that vid on Eagle6, I'm wondering if a 7.4V LiPo was a good idea - maybe i should have gone for a tiny 11.1V, as daft as that sounds. Anyway, my latest ebay-ninjability has netted me a DPM baseball cap for £3.79 delivered, a KGB blue beret (sadly with no insignia but that's not as insurmountable as it sounds) for £8.54 all in, and a Trustfire 18650 extension tube for £3.11 + free shipping. -

Well, I think that the only difference is the motor position, because the few upgrade parts I've found seem to be the same for both. -

^^Where does the battery go? Thanks for the motor heads up Do you know how that motor compares to the JG one, or the TM it's a clone of? -

No mate, I meant same gearbox, but yeah it's the same shitty battery too the ROF suits me fine, it's the initial trigger response - at CQB the other week I popped out of a doorway 1/2 into a corridor to shoot at 2 people who were in opposite side doorways down the end... hail of pistol and AEG fire before my Skorpion had fired it's first shot (and that was all semi-auto too). I'm really hoping that converting to a LiPo, Deans, and a Pico MOSFET sorts it out because the only info I have on other upgrades is the SHS replacement gears and someone on youtube who mentioned that the motor is a '370' which can be replaced with any of the same size RC motor... great! Er, no... I can't find any decent info on what '370' means or what choices there are from manufacturers... we need an emoticon which is somewhere between sad and crying - bummer. -
Not at all. If you tilt the gun so the sight is vertical, yes, obviously; but if you simply aim over the angled iron sights, you're totally in business. We're not talking about trying to get good groupings, we're talking about hitting man sized targets at ranges where a magnified sight is a hindrance, ie right in front of you, ffs!

Yeah, it is. The stuff I'm talking about here is the late 70's - early 80's khaki uniforms - the officers' trousers all had a stripe of piping down the outside leg seam in different colours depending on branch of service: raspberry red = army / pale blue = air force & VDV / black = marines & tank forces / green = border guards, and you can find them on fleabay fairly often, but the 'dark' blue of KGB special units almost never comes up, but even when it does, the most common sizes are what we would class as civilian small/medium - medium. Trying to find almost any Russian uniform in 54-5 (38" waist, 44" chest, 5'10"-6' height) is a struggle, unless it's only been around for a few years, in which case you'll be buying bits you don't need, namely a sleeve and a trouser leg...! But this cloth should do the job nicely and also be correct for collar tabs, enlisted men's shoulder boards, and visor cap bands (although it's a bit late for that for me b/c i bought a Bulgarian KGB visor cap a while ago which I can swap insignia with a Russian VDV one somebody sold me mistakenly, because i couldn't tell what shade of blue on my laptop grrrrrrrrrr, but these are the lengths you have to go to unless you're prepared to pay £4-500 for semi-complete uniforms). It takes patience and a fair bit of ebay-ninja-ing ;D:lol: Anyhoo, I got bored waiting for a Y-Strap harness to crop up again, I mean shit, there used to be loads of 'em and going for about a tenner, so I bought one from Soviet-Power.com $14.95 + $15 shipping & handling fee so the best part of £20 - ho hum... -
Before: After: Dylon Dark Brown Leather Dye - I've decided to buy one of those Soviet leather Y-Strap harnesses, although I'm probably going to stick with the canvas belt, but whatever, this Czech gear looks better as a colour matching-ish to the Soviet brown kit, IMO. That little extra fastener has worked out nicely too - it will stop the Skorpion slipping out of the holster when it isn't loaded - it comes from a mega-knackered old canvas AK mag pouch. I think I might be able to turn the rest of it into a couple of decent looking pouches for a suppressor and a periscope, but I need to get a press stud punch, because it was missing the main leather closing tab already and now it's missing the small Cleaning Tools Pouch tab as well. Hmmm... maybe better to see if I can get another knackered AK Mag pouch or two and keep all the gear looking the same.
