  1. ^^I don't think that's too bad. I mean, I wouldn't buy one, but I'd borrow it for a day...
  2. Yeah, that was my thinking re: loadouts. I should have an idea of how the meds experiments I'm being subjected to are likely to pan out by mid July, but in any event unless my quacks have miraculously achieved their holy grail of producing sufficient analgesia to stop me complaining without the least modicum of pleasure or side effects which I cannot accept, I'm planning to call a halt to whatever they're are up to so I have time to take matters into my own hands for NAE, so an extra month shouldn't hurt. In which case I may be somewhat more jovial than is my habitual modus operandi, but surprisingly enough considering the hype, I am also likely to exhibit a degree more mental acuity... which will be nice
  3. £60 on trains alone for me, so it's doable but unless the camping is Fri, Sat & Sun free/nominal it'll be hard to justify for me. Unless a lift materialises from Nottingham of course.
  4. Those old skool soldering irons are great for getting hot quick, but just be aware that the semiconductors in MOSFET set ups can be destroyed by overheating. If you're going to solder onto the board with a spanking iron, use a crocodile clip on the nearest components to act as a heat sink.

  6. Do not worry about covering your gun with tape. You have only two problems: 1) is getting the gun past UK Customs & Excise; 2) is reducing the FPS for UK site limits. So: 1) get registered with UKARA and put your UKARA number on the package; 2) replace the spring with an Element M105 from here or here. Can everyone else stop confusing the issue? Nobody is going to be arrested over whether a gun is two tone or not. The police have said the law is unenforcible and they are not interested in trying to enforce it. So forget it.
  7. Let's get it right, a MK23 is a USP with a slightly longer barrel and thread. Obviously it seems massive to girly handed peeps, but it's not that big. It's not as big as a DEagle; it's not even as big as a P45 Match (which is where sub-zero truly resides). I carry my USP in a drop leg (and yeah, that's without a suppressor and about 12mm shorter). I have only had to quick draw it once, as a sniper back up - I managed to pull it and shoot 2 opponents, and I reckon I could have got a 3rd, before they could raise their AEG's from muzzle down cross chest carry - and this wasn't a sneaky thing, I was stood chatting in the middle of a track at GZ, nowhere near the closest skirmish, and a pair of Deltas turned up unexpectedly - we could all see each other as plain as day, I just reacted quickest. So I don't see any reason to think that, without the suppressor, a MK23 would be difficult to quick draw. I expect it does depend on the size of your hands: mine are glove size 9 width but long, maybe 10 1/2 = just a blim too big for British Army size Large, but not enough for XL, so not massive by any means. Personally I expect I'd have more trouble drawing and aiming a tidler quick because my natural grip pulls them to the left and i have to consciously feel for the the trigger, since it is closer than my 'trigger pulling motion' expects to find it, which is also a bugger if the trigger guard is small.
  8. Don't bother yet. Spend the money on boots, eye protection, mesh 1/2 face mask, a spare battery for your AEG, a good charger, mid cap mags, and a sling.
  9. If you do not have a UKARA number, you must paint it 51% bright green/orange to import. You must not take the paint off or repaint it black until you can prove you are an airsofter. Once you have the gun in the UK, you can prove you are an airsofter just by photos though, without UKARA.
  10. just watching The Worlds Weirdest Weapons - the CIA tried to use a cat to get a listening device into somewhere sensitive - bloke just said "in the real world getting a cat to go where u want it isn't easy" - no shit!?!

it was the yanks who made the bat bomb but it never got used in anger - apparently it did work tho

On one of the trials the wind changed so the bats burned the military base to the ground instead of the target fake village. There was a WW2 guided bomb that utilised a pidgeon trained to peck pictures of battleships. He got a window and where he pecked it altered the fins.

I remember watching Hitler's underground cannon where there are explosive charges which are timed to accelerate a projectile up the barrel. Apparently it never worked as planned.

  11. I've remembered: Namaco is the Polish member I mentioned. I have asked him to look at this thread, so hopefully he will be able to explain it all to you in Polish
  12. No need to worry about your language, mate. Your English is better than my Polish! Once you have played 3 times and have a UKARA number, you do not have to paint your gun to import it. If you tell the site organisers where you play that you wish to get UKARA registered, they will do that for you. You will then get an email with your UKARA number - that is the number you put on the package as part of your address.
  13. I'm going to move this thread to the intros section. Welcome to the forums Have a scan through this and many of your questions will have the start of an answer.
  14. What's confusing? I said that the only quick way UK Customs & Excise will recognise is UKARA... Even though it nearly choked me to do it!
  15. Oh yeah... FPS limits. You will need to check your local site/s. Usually it is 350 for AEG's using 0.2g BB's, but some woodland sites allow 368, or 370. Two Zero is right about how the law says 1 Joule, but UK Customs & Excise are not going to fire your gun to check it so do not worry about that. You just need to get it downgraded before you play. My advice is that you should put an Element M105 spring in a JG G36C - that will give you about 340FPS.
  16. Hold up, people. The man is struggling with a foreign language trying to understand us. It is no use using txt spk, contractions, or incomplete sentences, nor assuming he must know things which we take for granted. 1) You do not have to paint your G36 to import it into this country, because you are an airsofter already. The problem is proving it. At the moment, the only quick way, which UK Customs & Excise will recognise, is a UKARA registration number written on the package, with your phone number (just in case) as part of your address is best, like this: UKARA# XYZ01234 Mr. A. R. Softer 368 Hit Street Luton LU8 2XX UK Phone: 447789 555123 2) You do not need personal insurance. You will be covered by the insurance of the airsoft site where you play. The part you quoted refers to site owners or event organisers. (The way the law works and how it applies to players and UKARA is quite difficult to explain simply. Trust me, there are many people who believe they understand English perfectly well who nevertheless do not actually understand UK law as it applies to airsoft. This is not really their fault however, because the law is actually so stupid that people probably cannot quite bring themselves to believe that it really means what it says ) 3) To get UKARA registered, all you need to do is go airsofting 3 times in not less than 2 months, but you must tell the organisers that you want to get a UKARA number. It will be best if you tell them every time you go. You will have to provide some identification: something that says who you are, like your passport, and something which says where you now live, such as a letter from your electricity supplier. You will have to fill in a form with your details, which the site organisers will stamp to show that you have attended. After your third game, they will send the form to UKARA. Hopefully it will not be longer than 1 week later before you have your UKARA number, however sometimes it can take longer. Some sites do not bother to stamp the form. They just keep a record of who is there and fill in the form later. You will have to ask how your local site do it. Understand this however, many sites will tell you that you MUST become a member of their site to become a UKARA registered player. This is not true. It may be more trouble for you to argue than it is worth though. If the membership costs £25-35 for a year and gives you cheaper entry (£5 discount for members is usual), then it is probably best to just pay it. If becoming a member is more expensive and/or does not give any benefits to members, come back and I, or someone else, will explain how to get UKARA registered without becoming a site member. 4) You do not need to be UKARA registered to play. 5) You do not need to paint your gun. The law says that it is illegal to sell you an airsoft gun which looks real (Realistic Imitation Firearm / RIF) unless you are an airsofter. It is also illegal to make an RIF unless you are an airsofter, which means you cannot repaint a brightly coloured airsoft gun, unless you are an airsofter plus it is illegal to import an RIF unless it is for airsofting. However it is not illegal to own an RIF. Can anyone remember what that Polish lad who used to post on here was called? Alex, you know who I mean, right? I just remember nicknaming him 'Alphabet' because his real name is Alabrudzinski or something similar, but I think his username was from gaming...
  17. Long way to go yet, Tac. Yeah Liam, I'm really curious to find out how much range I can get from that kind of FPS. Got an email t'other day to inform me that the steel barrel base was back in stock, but I couldn't afford that plus piston & spring so I left it... sold out again already If its hot again, i'm going super-light. Even if i can get settled on my new meds by then I'll still be pretty unfit I suspect, so yeah, minimal kit will have to be the way...
  18. I was thinking on the back left of my Soviet Y-strap webbing. Need to put mesh in her specs first though!
  19. Because Liam, ever since i got shot just under the eye between a loose 1/2 face and goggles, i wear them with 2 straps, tight to my face so they don't move when i run - which is a pain in the hole to fiddle with, especially if i'm also wearing a headset. A simple door that latches tight back in place - what could be simpler to operate?
  20. Just picked up a 2nd hand full face mesh mask to have an experiment with. I'm half tempted to buy some grey wool to put a tactical chin warmer and eye shades on it and wear it with my pakol, but i've had an idea in the back of my mind for these things for nearly 2 years so that is most likely the way i'll go - turning a section of it over the mouth into a hamster cage stylee door to allow easy drinking and smoking...
  21. Unless you're determined to spend a lot of money, have a look on aliexpress.com for a SERPA. I bought one for my USP: I defy anyone to find fault with it, even though it is definitely a 'knock off'. Probably another one of those things run off the same assembly line as the 'real' ones as the Chinese are so obligingly fond of doing
  22. I got shot by two people at point blank with CO2 pistols into a neoprene mask (I burst through a door at Tac House: Spartan and they were aiming at head height, which I thought was a bit moody...). Both hits got me side by side on the top lip - more surprise than anything, but there was a red mark. I think you'd have to be quite close for a sniper BB to actually bruise through neoprene. Teeth wise, I think it may just be possible for a BB to get through the holes over the mouth, or not even penetrate but push the neoprene against teeth with just enough BB contact through the hole to cause a shattered tooth - but really it'd be a one in ten million or more coincidence. But yeah, mesh is the way forward for complete peace of mind. It's not sweaty to wear either...
