  1. I care far more about shit I'll have to pay to replace myself vs issue stuff I'll get replaced for free, no doubt. In theory I should just wear mtp for airsoft and get free replacements, but I'm not smart enough for that.
  2. Don't suppose these remedy the wobbliness of the selectors at all? Brilliant gun otherwise but those just ruin the feel of it for me.
  3. All I've got for sale goes here - https://flic.kr/s/aHsjPXJkHw All the trousers listed do fit knee pads.
  4. They do make an M-LOK piece that's just a metal look so anything can snap on, that's my preferred option I have to say personally. I appreciate some folks like QDs though.
  5. Well I'm an armourer and a camo collector, I occasionally skirmish as an aside but the collecting is my 'thing'. £30 worth of ex surplus uniform is mooore than sufficient to play airsoft comfortably in most conditions, been saying that to folks for many years. However I got in to this lark in 2003 and it started as just playing the game, but I found (after a while) that what I personally enjoyed much more than the game was collecting and subsequent photography, writing, reviewing and reading/learning about how different kinds of gear are made; then how they might apply to the military and to all sorts of outdoorsy type hobbies. I think airsoft is a great lark as a game and a social, but I don't buy gear 'for' the game anymore, haven't for a long time. I don't wanna go in to my life or my finances because that'd be weird, but I've got a fair few years service done, lived in the barrack block the whole time in a teeny room eating the mess food. I've been to a couple of places to accrue a few bonuses as well, then just done a lot of saving my whole career, never owned a flash car etc. That's my approach to stuff, and I like it, I'm making roads towards maybe working for a company who makes good kit for the forces one day once I'm out, so I can put what I know in to something that could hopefully benefit folks who really put their necks out in bad places. That's a little way off still, for now I just love collecting what more can I say.
  6. Few bits of Crye stuff (regular and softshell), Patagonia knee pads and a Geissele rail. Oh and a patch.
  7. How so? They had good stuff on display at SHOT that I have considered, but I don't want to buy things from a company who treats customers like crap.
  8. Got some bits and pieces in for reviews and some swag to give out to the lads in work.
  9. This from a retailer or classifieds somewhere? I'm looking around at custom TM G17s at the moment trying to find retailers/techs who do good work in that field.
  10. Where have you been looking? There's tons inbetween if you want actual multicam for a whole bucket less money than Crye. I do often tell people to get MTP anyway when I get asked because you can't beat it really in terms of maximum value for the money. However I know personally I've reviewed and written about lots of options in the middle that are pretty well priced and come in real multicam fabric for those who specifically want that for whatever reason. Leo kolher's good, tru-spec, sometimes 5.11 and there's a few others. As with a anything if you've not dug in to ebay/forum classifieds/FB groups for other gear you'll miss out. Cryes get sold for well under half retail all over the place; which is still a lot obviously but again a much better price than retail. Purely as examples I've got a couple of MC items listed for sale myself right now and they might not be your size but if you look at the prices you'll see what you can get if you just take the time to look around (saying this to anyone reading the thread btw, not just yourself).
  11. I remember back when it was called regen. Back in my day...
  12. As above really, I've looked at all the options and this is the best mask option out there. However I only use a mesh mask when running a helmet which is about once every 2-3 years on average heh; so no real feedback from use yet. That said, I swapped the harness on the OT with some short straps that clip in to an Ops-Core taken from an older, similar mask I picked up on EBairsoft years ago. Luckily both have split/removable buckles attaching the straps so I didn't have to cut anything, totally reversible mod.
  13. I've got a real T-1, don't own any real guns personally. 2nd hand, paid waaay under retail, still not cheap though. Makes no difference in airsoft other than the lenses are a bit clearer than ACM clones and the internal soldering doesn't fail under TM recoil. I still objectively suck at playing the game, neither the Aimpoint nor anything else gucci help me in that regard at a sunday skirmish. But I got my first springer 15 years ago now, I've tried absolutely everything else, I've worked, saved up etc and this is what I have now. I'm not going to delve in to the details of my financial status but I'm fortunate to say I'm not struggling. Personally I recommend Vortex, Primary Arms and Holosun for red dots, on anything with recoil anyway. Just because I've had too many of the real cheap clones fail after firing a mag or two through a TM EBB or GBBRs. They're the low end of RS optics, definitely still pricey for airsoft, but you put some protective lenses on there and you've got a nice T-1 style setup for life. Just the conclusion I've come to after a lot of trial and error but each to their own.
  14. Hey anyone's welcome to swing by my FB/IG and enter when I give most of it away heh. FirstSpear always doing good stuff. I'm kinda on the fence with skulls because I see way too many in the realm of tactical muscle shakes and tactical-everyday clothing start-ups, but I think the animal skulls aren't as bad.
  15. A special phenomena that pretty much only happens when the new player is somehow related to somebody with multiple loadouts worth of gear in a cupboard. Wish I could've been on the gaining side of that sort of thing when I started ha.
  16. -Black bungee cord for the custom wooden gun rack in my airsoft locker (holds the handguards in place) -Black rubber matting to pad out the drawers in the new desk/drawers I put together over christmas (only ikea nothing fancy) -MDF planks and plywood boards to outfit the inside of the new wardrobe I put together for maximal/optimum storage of too much camo -50 custom PVC patches to give out a SHOT Show
  17. The shoulder tubes are great if you're drowning or on fire, never needed them in airsoft and I almost never use them. Occasionally if I'm knackered and being very lazy I'll just lean forward and open 1 cummerbund and 1 shoulder tube so the whole rig just falls right off but then obviously all your kit clatters down on to the ground; or at the least you have to make very sure you're holding tightly on to the other shoulder strap when it swings off your body. My usual/preferred method is to just open 1 at the cummerbund and lift the rig over my head, quickest and easiest way of getting a PC off and back on again overall.

  19. The basis of my 2nd go at putting together my ideal PC. FirstSpear back, cummerbund and shoulder pads. Front panel and shoulder straps built from scratch.
  20. VCRA defence, UKARA is a retailers' association with a database. It's been over a decade since this law was past, anyone who still doesn't doesn't get it needs to go and do some reading. Don't ask other people who don't know what they're talking about, go find some proper articles and look up the actual act on the government website; it's right there, easy to find and not that complicated to understand the basics. If you don't have a defence from prosecution under the VCRA laws, don't manufacture, import or attempt to purchase a RIF. Being on UKARA's database is not the only defence. I'm not going to start talking about the false economy of 8fields, nuprol and viper vs surplus issue kit or hunting down quality stuff for the same price 2nd hand, because that's a lesson most people have to learn for themselves.
