It's useful to know how your own setup performs if you like to fiddle. I'm the same It's difficult to remove that smacking, some used an airbrake but it's very difficult because of the way the guns work. If the cylinder maintained pressure maybe you could do it, but it might rebounding anyway so I dunno

Perhaps not for you and probably depends on the actual colour you're after but you can dye plastic. Hand grips are somewhere even good adhesion wont stop the wear, but sounds like that doesnt matter in your case

Its not wasted energy, the same air is being compressed but faster and because the bb moves as soon as the pressure is enough to move it, a faster build up of pressure means the pressure is higher earlier as the bb moves along the barrel and why you need a stronger spring to compensate for the loss of spring travel if you compress it less, to maintain the fps. If you choose to have a shorter travel for the piston you must put the similar energy in to get similar energy energy out, but since you are increasing the load you will need more current and so the electrical losses are higher. The mechanical stresses are higher also. If you are compressing more air than the gun can use it is wasting energy, which is why cylinders are ported to match the barrel length (volume). Since air leaks out from various places a heavier BB will need more air because the time the leaks are happening are longer as the BB needs more time to exit the barrel. So far as time is concerned, if you get 20rps short stroked on a stronger spring or 20rps on a normal stroke and weaker spring, there no loss of cycle time or wasted time compressing the spring. If you put a certain amount of energy into a spring over time and then the same energy in a shorter time, there is no time wasted if the energy gets used. People will short stroke to avoid PME, where the spring doesn't push the cylinder back into position before the gear comes around for the next cycle, but this is something that happens past 25rps and would initially be compensated with a stronger spring to get the piston back sooner perhaps in combination with short stroking to keep the fps under control, or various mixtures of the 2. It's worth bearing in mind that you don't get something for nothing, if you have more RPS you will use more energy than lower RPS in the same time however you do it. Electrically you want the least current to minimise the losses and mechanically optimise the energy use needed to get your outcome. Compressing a stronger spring is less efficient than a weaker one in the same time for example, but efficiency is not always the goal. If you want to have a really high ROF you'll need to sacrifice electrical efficiency and mechanical efficiency to get closer to your goal. Motors will work hard to compress the spring, the gears will have more friction because the pressures are higher on the teeth, and all the insides will experience higher forces making wear higher, damage more likely and timing of the bits that care about timing more important and less forgiving.

From a physics point of view, even if the piston is not compressing air its still receiving the energy from the spring which it will then transfer to a smaller amount of air depending on the porting of course raising the air pressure. The speed of compression is higher which creates higher pressures which is more force on the bb even if the energy in the spring and therefore the air is the same. If you don't need the air volume you don't need a full cylinder but that's not a reason to short stroke. If you only compress the spring by 60% of its usual level that's 60% of its normal energy and if you don't need the energy, then why not just use a weaker spring? Physics is physics even if it's airsoft. I reduced my spring rate to get my fps down, which raised the rps of course. 20rps shouldn't cause any issues in normal guns.

It would be difficult to treat each gun on a case by case basis and get this communicated out to people and it not cause management issues. Med is somewhat arbitrary because of the energy loss over relatively short distances is considerable and is more with a greater starting energy. However rules are rules.

Whilst your eyes might see it, what you percieve is something else. Even looking for something in particular you brain may decide to ignore it...mine does when I'm looking for my keys for example I'm with you there, my feeling is that people working somewhere should have that where it enhances Thier safety.

Silicone oil only has an issue with silicone orings and then not always. Decent orings will resist all oils, the plastics often dislike mineral oils. My go to is silicone oil on moving metal parts and a grease on gears or for assembly. Bearings like grease, bushings need regular lube so oil there. Exactly which grease doesn't matter that much, the pressures are low and temperatures fall in nearly all grease temp ranges.

Which stock do you have? If it's the collapsing one, is it the bit of bent metal you want a pic of?

If you like the mp5 if you can source a plastic version you'll get to use your mags again. The metal one is significantly over 3kg. A short adjustable stock would help but any mostly plastic gun would help you. The p90 is a good choice.

If your needing energy glucose tablets work wonders and don't require any liquid to consume. I use a water filter on the hills but for Airsoft I can bring enough for the day. As ppl say hot drinks are a nice morale booster, a treat so have what you want. Weekend events I guess need more kit, interesting info.

Perhaps reprofile it to fit in the hole then explore options for securing it. Drill a shallow depression in the part and grub screw it from both sides. I'd bond the part in too.

I got these in long and short, the short ones are snug enuf to hold normal mags, the long ones obviously more secure. Both are very snug and you can cinch the bungee up more if you wanted.

I had a look at a take down video and consequently the hop unit. Looks like you want an o ring on the other side of the lever to add a bit of tension.

Are you sure your gearbox case isn't bent? Are you pressing in the bushings? I know gearbox casings vary but none of this sounds right. I'd be measuring the gear widths and comparing then to the originals, same with the bushings. You can take material off the bushing surface to thin it down but there should be enough recess to accept the bushing.

You can have cameras, body worn or otherwise with a simple policy. It's not a nightmare at all. If you contract in security they need to be licensed but otherwise you dont Without arguing this point, if it's in house it's also irrelevant.

I'm unsure why you would think that. I hold an SIA licence, but it's not required to wear a body cam. You'd only need a licence if you weren't working for the Airsoft place and then only if you were watching the footage. Sia licences are to regulate the security industry, if you are working for the place that has the CCTV you don't need a licence. Otherwise someone in a school or shop would need an SIA licence. All you'd need to do to comply with data protection is have a policy and stick to it. Main thing being keep the video for the least amount of time you need to.
