  1. I know - it's a scuffed non RMR cut but still - looks cool. The aliexpress SRO is a lot better than the RMR clones.
  2. Hi, Been finally getting around to doing a build of mine I've had parts bought for ages at this point and it's been ground to a very annoying halt - the Solink Lite 28k that I bought a while back has the 1.3 allen on so tight that I can't get it off, even with heat. I know I'm going to have to get a pinion puller regardless but I'm assuming because of use (I let my mate use it while my build was on the backburner in his stock G&G MP5SD) it's glued itself on because of the combination of the red threadlocker they use + the carbon from firing. Any ideas on getting this thing off? Boiling water? (not the entire motor obviously, just the pinion)
  3. LCT G3s are pretty notorious for a few things (the midcaps being one of them) but they make awesome pieces once sorted. Have fun lugging that sledgehammer around all day though!
  4. The DE mosfet is a very similar dual board design similar to a GATE Titan so they drop right in. Unfortunately, the Perun gets stuck on a little nub on the left-shell of the gearbox which requires a bit of fitment work. See Herrgh's posts: Dremel arrived just earlier. It's going to be a very painful couple of days (not helped by the fact I've got a fracture in my wrist!) UPDATE: Will be tomorrow instead - turns out the set of 15 accessories didn't include a metal die-grinder small enough to get at the peg without blasting half the gearbox. Did end up using the dremel to make my selector fit and able to move with the EZO bearings however. Overshimmed the shit out of it so they were as pushed out as they're ever going to be & took off enough until it selected smooth, job's a gooden.
  5. My dremel comes tomorrow so this thread's going to be invaluable in getting the perun fitted all sound. Very excited to get my DE UTR-45 back up and running! (although trying helical gears for the first time is going to be an absolute nightmare!)
  6. Won't be getting run like this as you can't get the handguard off to access the battery when the muzzle-break the QD suppressor sits on is threaded but I thought it looked pretty neat. As much as I love the G36E with the bipod I think the G36K lengh is the goldilocks of the bunch - just right.
  7. 18airsoft were extremely lovely about the fact that my E&C SAI G34 wasn't working out of the box and sent a replacement hammer assembly free of charge. Threw on a 'we have a RMR cut at home' special and this thing's looking sweet and shooting good all the same. Looking forward to playing with the inner barrel and hop stuff when funds permit
  8. G36 built by Luke and a pair of E&Cs. G34 wasn't working out of the box but does look very lovely.
  9. I know! I keep looking at it and going 'corrrr!!!' but then I remember it doesn't work and I get upset I'll message 18airsoft and see what can be done, maybe it's happened in transit as it does have a chrono chart alongside
  10. Alright, they finally came [after a lot of expense and fucking around, sodding UPS]: (Pictured, WE G18c, E&C G18c and E&C SAI G34) We'll start from the top, so - for starters: Externals are absolutely lovely with full trades - they're based on Gen 2 frames so have the smaller mag release but both have the extended slide release which is neato, although - there's one SLIGHT problem. The G34 came non-functional out of the box. The valve knocker isn't connected and it doesn't fire, and the G18c seems to work somewhat okay. Both accepted my WE mags but seeing as I've ran pretty dry on gas it's hard to tell if it functions as well as my WE. I'm absolutely gutted that the G34 doesn't work, considering how fantastic it looks. I'll get it apart at some point once the grief subsides and hopefully it can shoot as well as it looks. Still, be wary - I could've just gotten a lemon but I'm not about to jump through all those hoops to get it sent back (or maybe I will, I am genuinely so upset that it doesn't work as I intended to swap my WE parts over to use it this coming weekend)
  11. Having trouble with UPS fucking around and refusing to give any tracking or delivery info on a 18airsoft order that I've already provided the missing info + paid the fees on. Anybody got any ideas on how to get them to budge that doesn't including sitting on the phone talking to people who have no idea what's going on for hours or am I going to have to waste a painful few to get it released? Storage charges start on the 6th so I'm not too confident on waiting for them to reply to the two emails I've sent so far.

If its a consolation, Royal Mail also sat on an 18Airsoft order of mine for almost a month after i had paid the customs fees. It eventually arrived, but I spent hours on the phone - and with RM it was taking an average of an hour in the queue before some clueless fool even answered it.

  12. Currently have a SAI branded G34 and a G18C stuck in customs-hell but I'll post them here when they arrive and show how they are in person, fingers-crossed they're good [and have the trades!]
  13. Little update, ordered this spring guide in particular and it's went in perfectly fine and fits lovely - also ordered an XT M110 [or a pair of them actually] as the M100 was about 0.9J and the M120 I had was about 1.3J - now we're in the goldilocks power range lobbing a 0.28g pretty decently far. I think I know what's happened to the safety, there's normally a little metal piece that sits in the fire selector to block the trigger on safe that I completely forgot about and seeing as I've decided to do inebriated tech work on this thing multiple times at this point fuck-knows where it could be so I'll have to have a little looksie and if I end up finding it this thing'll be pretty much solved, excluding the heat ofc but that just needs a rewire as the wires are about 10+ years old and it's also using a tamiya to deans connector anyway. Nice to see things working, will be sure to update when something inevitably goes wrong again!
  14. Tried in the past to fit a QD delta armouries V2 into it but no dice for whatever strange reason - maybe an E&C will fair a little better in the future. I've found a QD spring guide that looks to fit from bullseye, so that's been ordered and after testing power after the fresh rebuild #383 (adding the compression parts) power's jumped all the way up from about 0.83J to around 1.3J with the hop set - I'll be downgrading the spring to a M110 or M100 when the new guide arrives to save me taking it out of the receiver twice (as it's from the era where QD was just the gearbox, not true QD) It's a shame about not being able to replace the cut-off with a new one as I'm pretty sure the switch assembly in this particular gearbox uses it as a blocker for the trigger rather than having it be by the trigger like your typical mechanical safety ala CYMA or similar, and considering it's meant to be a 'backup' or loaner gun I'm not too keen on jumping straight into a fresh gearbox w/ a perun just yet because at that point it gets into ship of theseus territory and I've got a few other unfinshed projects I'd rather plop the Perun I already have lined up into when time and money permits [need a dremel]
