  2. Stuff that's great for speedy bois includes being able to hero dive. It's not just against the rules, the floor had been made slightly more abrasive to make it much more difficult. Lots of hard walls make it an unwise choice also unless you want to risk a concussion. The idea that tactics can't be applied is utterly untrue - you just have to change the tactics that didn't work before or regroup and strategise for the next game. As kindly as I can say this, you may need to think outside of Blackstone. The range is part of the White Sphere shop as much as it is part of Blackstone CQB and offers people an opportunity to test and tweak their RIFs and accessories on off days between games when their living arrangements may not give them that luxury. RIFT Airsoft currently runs at two outdoor sites so having a ~20m indoor range helps somewhat. Spawn and respawn points have been mixed up on occasion, both of which were on the ground floor and objectives were partly on the first floor. Tweaks in both the build/maintenance of the site and the game modes have been made over the past few months. They've also done pistol & shotgun/pistol only days once a month. On those days, the use of drum and adapted rifle/SMG mags with pistols was prohibited. I can't say I agree with the idea of allocating one set of stairs to each side for a game as you risk adding to choke points whether it's a team being reluctant to push forward or a dead player being delayed in returning to respawn. Sometimes a dead player needs a second option for stairs so they don't hinder their living teammates. My intention wasn't to rubbish your experience, it's just that some comments about the site have become outdated as things have changed since very early this year.
  3. For the sake of those who haven't played there, it's worth pointing out that there are 4 sets of differing stairs but yes, I agree that they can become choke points. With the spiral staircase, I have seen disputes settled quite reasonably with "Rock Paper Scissors". Whether it was "almost designed for speedy bois" is debatable. I would have thought a large open area with small barricades is more akin to a speedy boi arena. Some objectives are time and speed-sensitive in terms of who can reach a point first but is that fundamentally different from a traditional oudoor skirmish, going to points on the map albeit over a larger area? I don't think a site designed for speedy bois is going to lend well to training for blue light services simulating real-life urban environments either. Just my two cents.
  4. That's some attention to detail in replicating the gun in the film. I don't seem to recall John Wick's upper back tattoo being painted or scribed on to his KSG. 🤔 Does the seller think spaffing John Wick's name in the listing is more important that pointing out of it was actually made by Tokyo Marui or Double Eagle?
  5. I got a lightweight MWS bolt/carrier group for my Noveske N4 in anticipation of the winter, before the rat race starts with people doing the same.
  6. The rules on allowing BFGs/IGs work on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the number of players, the balance of players on red vs blue team with grenades, specific objections or the type of game being played, etc, can see them being prohibited.
  7. Yeah, you'd hope it's modular enough that the receivers have plentiful spares, assuming the upper and lower are the only parts damaged!
  8. How do you define "competitive"? I was able to outplay opponents running guns from £800 to £1000 while I had a ~£110 P90 until I decided to spend more money sorting out its trigger. Is there one feature you're dead set on having that is present in one gun but absent in the other? That may be your deciding factor. Reliability is relative. Every brand of skirmishable AEGs does its odd bad apple. I'd say reliability is much better today than when I first played donkey's years ago. I reckon that's owed greatly to the market being so competitive that even entry to mid-level products are made to higher standards and have features you'd only have seen toward the top end of the market.
  9. https://airsoft.tiger111hk.com/m512/WELLPRO/p55067/WELL-PRO-WE13-3AGM-KC-WPS-Ultralight-Folding-Stock-GBB-Rifle-(Transparent)/product_info.html This is an odd one. I like the idea of a lightweight GBBR for a lot of players though the transparent polymer receiver is bizarre to me. It also looks like there's some sort of ZET plate while the mag looks like a VFC design.
  10. Case in point was the chap selling what he claimed was a fully upgraded Ares Honey Badger yet he didn't know what had been upgraded internally. It was then pointed out to actually be a Double Eagle model and the "upgrades" he eventually listed were questionable. I think he was duped from the person he bought it from originally and tried saving face by selling it on to recover some of his losses.
  11. I'm half hoping that parasite Ryan tries his luck for donations and gets laughed away.
  12. https://prefired.co.uk/ads/sale-clearout-joblot-asg-bren-hk-g36-cz-p-09-accessories-need-gone-asap-please-offer/ I don't see £600 worth of guns and accessories. The fact that there are no mentions of brands for the accessories (especially the belt & chest rig) doesn't inspire confidence in their value. I assume the G36C is a licensed version made by Umarex, which isn't worth all that much.
  13. Honestly, I would pick a site to play at and see how you gel with the staff and other players and move on from there. I wouldn't say all social media is bad though you should just be wary of a lot of it. Other players local to Essex who you play with or against may point you in the right direction with time.
  14. It definitely gets worse when they ask you to message for more details or more pictures, as if the seller doesn't understand the burden lies with them. Unless the seller is a masochist or if they have something to hide, why would they only provide more information about the gun privately and repeat themselves doing it?
  15. Not selling it in the UK would be almost criminal.
  16. Non-airsoft playing cosplayers who visit a players' forum and want support to circumvent the laws and regulations around purchasing a RIF with no regard for the potential fall out that could happen and make things more difficult for actual players. The other thing that grinds my gears is the self-importance such people show when they say they don't care about people's opposition, nor do they appreciate you can't always get what you want in life. Even if your circumstances are difficult, there isn't always room for exceptions.
  17. You can play 3 games with a registered site and get a UKARA defence or stick with one site that does its own defence after similar qualifying criteria for UKARA. Considering the instances of open-carrying cosplayers in the past ~18 months, I don't imagine a forum with regular players will want any further part in enabling a lack of common sense that jeopardises their ability to buy a RIF and act responsibly with it.
  18. It's honestly not a bad idea. They'll be very generic but not a bad way to get yourself started as you'll more than likely have some sort of M4 derivative for your rental gun. Most sites that are UKARA registered advertise the fact as it's a good selling point for them to lock you in for at least 3 games. If you go to the Airsoft Plantation website that Colin recommended, it shows it's UKARA registered at the bottom of the page. That's a common trait to look out for.
  19. Welcome! There are a good few sites in Essex though you'll likely have to come closer south. I'd suggest taking a look at this site to find yourself a site to play at. https://playairsoft.uk/map This sticky topic is worth you having a butcher's. Don't worry about going on your tod. The airsoft community is largely supportive and will be happy to help guide you on your first few games - the more you play, the more likely you'll play with and against the same people so there will be good camaraderie found soon enough. I get on really well with a fellow I more often than not play against. In terms of gear, much of it will be a learning experience for you. Advice on what you equip will be hugely personal and you'll have to discover what works for you over time. I'd say there are 3 key points when you plan getting started. Don't skimp on eye protection. Absolutely do not buy it from Ali Express, Wish or Temu - you are playing a huge gamble with your eyesight that just isn't worth what little saving you will make. Even with Amazon and eBay, fakes are sold frequently. You're best off buying from an airsoft retailer where their supply chain will only give EN166 or Z87 compliant eye pro. You don't even have to spend huge amount of money. You can get perfectly suitable eye pro for under £20. A decent pair of boots with ankle cover is recommended. You can walk on uneven terrain frequently or put your foot in a literal rabbit hole. They may not prevent you from breaking an ankle but they can help prevent less serious an injury. You're best off doing rental rather than buying a gun to start with in case you decide it's not for you. You can buy a two-tone to get started but there is a consistent story where reselling it becomes very difficult and loses more money than expected. Some sites have their own shops so you can handle the RIFs available if they have them or it may be worth you visiting an airsoft shop to get that hands-on feel. If you have any questions after you've done that reading, do let us know.
  20. Welcome! It may be more helpful if you were to disclose where in the UK you are based, where you're willing to travel and how frequently you can join a squad for skirmishes. If a squad has a uniform or a very prescriptive loadout as part of its identitiy, will you take that on at your expense? Are you over 18?
  21. More red flags than a Chinese parade. He doesn't even confirm the base Hi-Capa though it's more than likely TM. As you said, its trigger and hammer have probably taken a beating. There's no mention of whether it had been serviced. All I can make out from it is a LimCat slide but that's about it.
  22. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/jg-sig-550-with-custom-apocalypse-paint-job_i84059 Pricing is meh but don't try and bullshit people. Even Stevie Wonder can see that "custom" paintjob is a roundabout way of you trying to conceal it's a green two-tone job.
  23. I agree. I always see it as a red flag. I always assume they're trying to shy away from responsibility if anything is wrong or disclosing if it had been used or modified in a way that would drop its value further. I know one genuine case where the friend was no position to sell his own kit but that was an exception.
  24. The ambiguous "all in" (or allin [sic]) wankery when listing items for sale. We're not playing a game of poker! "All in" has meant one of (but not limited to) several things Final price, inclusive of delivery and Paypal G&S fees. Final price with delivery but they try charging G&S fees Final price including G&S fees but no delivery Final price without G&S fees or delivery When it's a gun, the final price doesn't include the accessories, such as a scope or sling, the gun is pictured with
  25. Yeah, the same parasite who should be old enough to know that you have to show you have a talent or skill to be worthy to get financially compensated. He's had two months since his tomfoolery and still hasn't shown any effort to pay his own way or borrow from friends & family instead of abusing crowdfunding platforms.
