  1. At the Invicta Black Site prefiring is classed and blind firing and is therefore a no-no. The maximum weight limit for BB’s is 0.25g, everything is chronoed, and they have they own branded zip ties for the regulators on HPA. There are a few HPA players that are a bit speed-soft, but with a 300 round limit per game they can either play speedsoft for a short time or play tactically for the whole round. Yes @Cannonfodderwe did. I was the marshal with the cutaway mask. Have you seen the Fort these days? They’ve cut down all the trees, turned the foxhole into an open air cinema, and gated off the chapel so you can’t walk through it.
  2. I got it from WGC (I thought I’d go old skool as nobody here had one)
  3. Seconded. I’ve got a pair of Sawfly’s and Stingerhawk’s and they’re both outstanding for clarity and a lack of distortion.
  4. 5.1kg unloaded with the sling and a 9.9v LiFe 1000mah in it. Most of the weight’s towards the middle and rear so it’s still quite pointy
  5. The Ares Elcan Red Dot arrived today from overseas. That finishes the build (well, until a proper grip pod comes up at a sensible price)
  6. We’re all grownups, and we all could have seen it. I don’t think you need to apologise, unless of course you made the website and you’ll be flying a helicopter to your local site with all the cash you’ve suckered from us 😂. No harm, no foul
  7. I did have a bit of a hiatus, but I’m back and I’m still mooching around in the team kit flying the flag, but I think you and I are the only ones playing regularly. It’s always good when someone from back in the day spots the team patch though and we reminisce over the old days. If I can get a few people of a similar vibe to the old crew together I might ask Rev nicely if I can reform the team. Work permitting I’m getting out there a couple of times a month, but it’s a difference to my student days where I’d play every Sunday. As far as numbers at my local goes there’s certainly no let up, and what’s promising is the amount of rentals who are enthusiastic and want to get into the hobby properly. Granted, it makes me feel old seeing kids who weren’t born when I started playing play their first game. People will always find money and time for their hobbies, and whilst there’ll no doubt be some shrinkage of players and sites when people tighten their belts I’m confident that the core of both that makes the game what it is will stay the course. Being super cynical it might concentrate the minds of sites to make sure that everyone has the best day possible, so any sites that aren’t hot on the basics (chronoing, marshalling, letting muppets who deliberately headshoot for the ‘Tube continue to play etc.) will lose players and feel the squeeze. Thankfully the sites I play at are exceptional and have a great bunch of players so I’m confident they’ll be fine. They’re even opening up a new site! Also, whilst it’s counterintuitive, the summer can see a drop in players. Just like the depths of winter the extremes of summer can lead to people swerving a day or two, and if they’ve got to entertain the kids for the summer holidays and/or go on vacation the slush fund spent on skirmishing can be spent on other things for a couple of months. All in all, down this neck of the woods Airsoft is still very much alive and kicking!
  8. Invicta Black Site might be available then?
  9. Nah, I’ve still got a BMI of over 9000!, I just hide it well. Where are you based? If you’re down near Invicta you’re welcome to take mine for a spin and see how you get on with it. Somewhere in the cupboards I’ve got a Tactical Tailor Mini Mav, which is as minimalist as you can go without just sticking the mags in your pockets!
  10. Assuming it’s the same one he was using back in the day Tackle’s rig has lasted nearly 20 years. At one point nearly our whole team was using one. I’m all about the super lightweight, but I’ll concede the Bulle would be more comfy when loaded up
  11. It was Jim at Platoon Stores who put me straight. I dropped him a message to let him know (we both wear Zephyrs) and he spotted it was dodgy. Unfortunately I didn’t message him until after I’d bought mine. C’est la vie, worst case scenario it’s a £66 lesson to pay more attention
  12. Thankfully I ordered them on the credit card so I should be covered (and thankfully it wasn’t for a hideous amount too. That’s the first time I’ve been caught by one of those. As always, caveat emptor!
  13. I’ve got a couple of HSGI AO Small chest rigs which are comfortable and light weight. On the plus side you can mount what you like, but it’s going to be slightly more bulky than a preset setup
  14. Yeah so it’s not Lowa, but some Chinese company. Avoid! I’m now watching the credit card like a hawk!
  15. IT’S A SCAM SITE I got caught, but thankfully it was on the credit card and not for a lot
  16. They’re good, I got some MP7 mag holders from them. The timeframe sounds about right, and the quality was really good. Alternatively, what have you ordered? I’d strongly recommend HW Holsters for an alternative. Their holsters are exceptional.
  17. Would something like this be acceptable for the room clearance drills?
  18. Yep, Invicta Battlefield is opening up a CQB site in Bradford. Their Black Site in Kent is superb, so I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with the new site!
  19. What about dropping the weight of your BB’s and/or shortening the barrel? If you’re running heavy ammo you might be getting some joule creep
  20. If it’s firing on auto when it’s in semi then the lever on the outside of the gearbox needs replacing. It’s a super simple (and cheap) repair. I bought a couple of the levers when I got the last one so I had spares but I think they were about £15 each.
  21. On the odd time I’ve found someone wearing something in poor taste I’ve always made sure they were left with no doubt that they were hit Thankfully it’s been years since I’ve seen anyone being silly. Don’t chuck the sport in. Are there other sites you could try that have a better vibe?
  22. Rigidity and reinforcement of certain areas. Textile is lighter and more supple, but would be bad for things like the heel. I guess weight and ventilation come into it too.
  23. I realise these aren’t on the list, and definitely don’t fall into the cheap bracket, but I have some Lowa Zephyr ahi’s (there is a Mid option) and they’re exceptionally comfortable and have stood up well to being used in the woods and in CQB. The only thing I’d change is for them to be leather rather than suede for boggy and muddy conditions, but they’ve been excellent in the snow and the heat.
