The blowtorch/heatgun is good, but can also melt pot metal. It's how I got my dummy suppressor to only unscrew at one end 😳

I switched my 600mm svd barrel for a modify hybrid 590mm and noticed no power difference, but that was only 10mm

I very much doubt that 20mm will make much difference. I'd have thought the greatest concern would be the barrel bending at that length!

How wide is the hop chamber slot for the nub?  Omega nubs are only 4mm wide so not much to play with, any smaller and it might affect how the thing actually works.  I don't think cutting nubs is a good way to reduce the size also, your better off sanding down I think with some fine grit paper, taking a little off each side very slowly.  

If you do you order another one up I'll drop in a spare factory 2nd one I have so you can practise your sanding 🙂

Ironically the A2 stock is a LOT rarer, which is great and all but it would have been nicer to get the A1 I ordered 😂 It does give me an excuse to build a GBB M16A2 next though 👀

Only you know how you feel bud but Airsoft will still be in you. Keep hold of some gear even if it's just to have a play at home when no one is in. I do lol.
I'm getting on a bit now but I've decided that if I can no longer tote the gear and myself up to heartbreak ridge at nae then I shall become an Airsoft groupie and just go along to watch and make a nuisance of myself 😂

I have about three half assed projects on the go at any one time all because I started down one path and got distracted by another while I was researching the right parts (SR25, I'm looking at you).
 
Plus all the gear I bought because there's a loadout I absolutely have to do and never quite got around to finding just the right shade of tan for the compass pouch so it's been abandoned (there's a chest rig in the classifieds that will attest to this).

if it works then i'll take that as a win

depends what you mean, was after a v3 QD gearbox for ages and couldn't find one. did the build with a standard gearbox then a QD one pops up

If there isn’t parts left over, have you really “fixed” it?

I generally see something on youtube or on here that catches my eye, find out a little more detail then spontaniously buy something 'close enough', I don't have the patience or skills to build a pew from scratch but can dismantle a few and put them back together again without too many screws or springs left over.
