  1. And thats why trigger discipline is important! Always assume its loaded even if you "know" its not
  2. And its that assumption that nearly cost me my eye!
  3. Its good practice basically.. we all know its airsoft and very little is going to happen.. but having been shot on the top of the fore head with no eye pro on in the safe zone because of some prats ill trigger discipline makes you think twice about it
  4. Happy that scene is about the fact his trigger safety (ie not putting his finger on the trigger unless he's shooting) is better than the guns safety so actually proves the other point that your finger isn't your safety as you're not safe by holding the trigger like that
  5. That sounds like a really good idea but as you say the issue is getting Japanese guys.. As far as I know there aren't any WWII Japanese weapons out..
  6. Knee pads are overrated if you ask me.. I play woodland and am constantly going prone or kneeling and I find some decent trousers are perfectly adequate. Built in knee pads would be good as they're smaller and light weight but I find external ones just get in the way
  7. Box fo kit has arrived from South Africa... now my room smells of Africa :)

Pictured you as a Rightguard kind of guy Nick, but if Lynx is what you like! lol

  8. I have to say following this I can really sympathise with Russell on the loadout gone too far front.. my SADF kit started by doing a African-esque Merc loadout which moved to more of a Blood Diamond kit to a more realistic Merc kit then full on SADF infantry and Recce and now I'm moving onto SANDF and Rhodesian kit! 9. Looking good guys! (Nutster, I appreciate the SADF in the title )
  10. Oh FFS! We all know what he meant... this is a loadouts thread not a definitions thread!
  11. Great now we're all in agreement on the meaning of the topic.. lets see some loadouts!!!!
  12. Marcus you're probably right but from what he said I think he means this more of an impressions thread as you could technically wear a mish mash to some milsims whereas others they need to be far more specific
  13. A milsim loadout if basically a highly realistic interpretation of a real world loadout. The very odd bit might be slightly incorrect but on the whole it clearly respembles a real modern or historical fighting force. It is basically borderline living history IE.. having a full MTP kit with Mk.IV rig, Mk.VII helmet and Aghan spec SA80 would be considered milsim but if you just had MTP with a baseball cap, WAS chest rig and a G36 it wouldn't be considered a milsim loadout as it is not close enough to the real thing... Basically this is a thread for loadouts what are based on specific forces rather than just random skirmish kit or airsoft team kit.. If someone has a Milsim loadout they know they do as they'll have spend a lot of time and money putting it together I might as well get this kicked off with my classic Angolan Bush War Executive Outcomes Mercenary. This is its older set up and a part WIP.. I've got more more region specific kit on way from SA (I'll upload my other African kits once I get some decent pics) Kit List: French Para Lizard bush hat (SoF repro) Portuguese lizard Shirt Scrim scarf SADF M83 battle jacket Patt 58 poncho Kenyan Maasai knife Patt 58 OD trousers
  14. OKay most recent order form SA.. SANDF S2000 camo buhs jacket SADF boot SADF 2L water bottle SADF poncho R4 sling SADF sleeping bag SADF dixie tins (mess tins) Nutria brown scrim scarf SADF nutria t-shirt SADF toiletry bag SADF nutria vest All for the grand total of R1830 (or £105 )
  15. If you had that would have been impressive as its hard to mean to create a loadout let alone do one my accident On a slight side note this does annoy me.. just because something is mix and match doesn't make it a PMC or Merc loadout.. If you haven't based your loadout on something just say you haven't or if you've gone for your own interpretation say so if its hypothetical say so.. but don't claim something is a real world loadout because its kind of like it
  16. I've gone off dump pouches. While they're good for really quick tacticool reloads (provided you have open mag pouches and can actually reload quickly) they normally rattle around and make one hell of a noise.. if you have individual mag pouch or even divided ones I find its often quicker just to put them back in the pouch
  17. And welcome to historical gear! The older the heavier My incomplete SADF Patt 70 webbing weighs an absolute ton compared to my M83 battle vest, and thats only a 10 year difference in production
  18. I was planning on but decided not to. The reason I was thinking about doing it was because the leather ends made doing anything fiddly very hard The stitching that came apart was actually along the side on the lower thumb from the wrist to the knuckle
  19. I had the old Warrior Firestorm gloves and they were decent but I found the leather fingers mean doing anything near fiddly was hard and they seemed to require very long and skinny fingers to fit entirely correctly. Eventually the side stitching on one of the gloves gave out and I decided to switch the Mechanix. However, that was a while ago so will be interested to see how they've improved them
  20. Most sites say that those under the age of 16 or 18 in some cases must have full face protection. Although it does make no sense getting both
  21. Geoffreym, I hate you and everything you stand for
  22. I've been resisting the urge to get a French lizard tent for my SADF recce loadouts
  23. I hate having to fix/upgrade guns.. every time i try to sort something it either does happen or something else breaks and I have to shed out a load of cash!
