Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread

Shouldn't have let the laddie play with it then... a harsh lesson in parenting! Idiots. Looking elsewhere £185 seems to be the going rate new. This one's pumped and add on 11 quid postage, it's dearer than a new, functional piece. Dreamers, spivs, walts, charlatans and con-artists, all. As bad as politicians. -
Gnu(s) possibly double-feeding - BBs jammed in the barrel
Ebeneezer Goode replied to RostokMcSpoons's topic in Electric Guns
Thats odd for it to be so badly jammed. I wonder if a BB may have split/disintegrated in there. Have you tried putting the rod up the feed tube and seeing if you can nudge things along? Disassembly may be you're only option at this rate. -

Still not got round to priming. Annual Leave until 10th however too many household jobs needing done. On the other hand, managed a couple of small add ons to the UAR and a bit of bodging err sorry "teching" to fix a design flaw... Firstly, a cheap metal CYMA silencer which has definitely changed the report to a dull, quieter 'thud' instead of the normal popping 'crack' and to me looks the business. Haven't Chrono'd it yet however it shoots fine. Also bought two Battleaxe 380rnd hicaps that have a nice texture to them and a very handy capacity check window. They also improve the look of the gnu in my view. Secondly, there's an annoying design flaw with the magwell that is well documented. Basically there's an irritating spring-loaded plunger that helps push the mag out on ejection. The magwell is also slightly too large resulting in much wobble; the combination of these two things makes many mags not sit right and causes feed issues. Sorted this by ripping out said plunger (its completely unnecessary anyway) and packed out the rear magwell guide with a strip of velcro; now, nice tight mags that sit correctly, feed correctly and, finally, I can use my midcaps... Might get round to priming tonight. Eezer G -
Ugh. Not good. Firstly, hope you'll be OK and all the best for your recovery. As a glasses wearer I've found it simpler to wear contact lenses, makes eyepro a lot easier. I've got a helmet with full face pro now however so that may change. Not skirmed with it yet however, will be getting a sniper to test it at chrono and taking my usual Bolle's just in case.

Can't agree enough Druid. I used one of those generic crossdraw vests until recently. Quite liked it but way too many pouches for my uses, plus the velcro mag pouches are fiddly as heck. Went low-drag for my sci fi armour build, two generic belt pouches that can hold STANAG, AK or whatever, anything from 2 to 6 mags they can hold, elastic cord on the top so much less fiddly. Until its finished I'll just be stuffing a couple of hicaps in my pockets.

Loving that KKV and the nice simple chest rig. Smart loadout.

The Tuna build's lookin good @RostokMcSpoons. I like the idea of a simple RDS and bought one from Amazon last summer, sadly my eyes didn't agree (astigmatism) I couldn't get it in focus no matter what I did, so back it went. Fiddlesticks. It's a pity there don't seem to be any airsoft F2000 scopes around, cos that really would look the dug's baws. -
A couple of additions to change the look of my UAR. Bought a basic CYMA metal suppressor and a couple of cheap Battleaxe HiCaps which have a beefy 380rnd capacity, a rather useful capacity check window and some nice rubber textured surfaces that also look rather spiffing compared with normal bland STANAG units. Haven't test fired it yet with the suppressor however can't see it causing any issues. Looks lightly more space marine-y to my eyes. 4x40 scope to be added within the coming weeks.

Not sure about the other ones, but bulldogs are fit for the bin. Or maybe at a push grenades... Always use good quality ammo. Will solve most of your issues I suspect. -
Exactly!

As ridiculous as it seems, deionised water lacks the salt in normal tears and exposure, apparently, can cause irritation and inflammation. Its also not guaranteed to be sterile. Over zealous yes, borderline farcical, but there it is. Best one I heard was during last year. Safety notice put out regarding hand sanitiser. Genuine one in a million case. Apparently someone sanitised their hands, didnt allow it to dry first, touched metal and the static shock ignited the sanitiser causing serious burns...

If RAs are copy and paste jobs they aren't fit for purpose nor legally correct. Sounds like someone couldn't be arsed updating their RA which makes an arse out of the whole thing. I do RAs as part of my job, in each case risks have to be identified, rated and mitigated appropriately as much as reasonably practical. Banning everything on a blanket basis or copy and pasting is never an option. The problem is, all too often H&S/RAs are used as a justification to stop stuff if someone wants an excuse to stop stuff happening or can't be arsed doing something.

Not yet but I will. Did give some brief heat when shaping but nothing more than localised. Will a general blast all over do? Other activities have waylaid this evenings planned progress, tomorrow night then. -

"Fucked" doesn't cover it. It's complete junk, in and out. Fit for the skip IMO. Rogerborg has it right, it's predatory. I really like PB but ffs that's ripping the pish. There again if some mug buys it its not really their problem... Wtf. Pics of someone's todger are not summat you want to see in an ad... -

Not a bad idea that... thanks Tackle! If I'm honest I've been completely winging it since I started it. Cocked up the shoulders a bit but hey ho it's just a bit of fun and I'm not fussed if it's not perfect. -

About to start priming. Thinking OD for the body and leg bits and black for the arms. Thoughts? Did consider leaving it all black however as I play at an evergreen woodland site I want a modicum of concealment, plain OD works well. Original plan was to paint the whole lot OD however the black arm guards match my gloves and the colour scheme of both my RIFs. -
Other option I'd explore is 3D print.

Here's an absolute stoater. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/evolution-airsoft-by-100461-devgru-dg74-aeg-rifle Missing multiple parts and requires reassembly. Yet on sale at full price sans any warranty (these were actually in stock tail end of last year for £85). Or an even better one from the same page:- https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/evolution-airsoft-by-100444-dg74-aeg-rifle Another EA 74, this time completely and utterly fooched. Decisively u/s, does not work at all, and stock and handguard busted for good measure. A bargain at almost full price with zero warranty! Spivs. -
Well, at my home site, no chrono equals no play, so there's no dodging. Gnu cable tied to mark it as Chrono'd, with different colour each week so there's no funny business. Can understand why it's banned if its an insurance thing. A shame really but money and litigation talks; if insurer says no, then that's the end of it... The way I see it, without meaning to sound harsh... if it's enough of an issue, go elsewhere.
