tonights goal get my finger out ym ass and get my m4 finished stupidly cracked my piston dropping it then running over it with my chair ooops *i aint a fat ass honest* luckily my local shop has cyma metal rack pistons in stock so have picked one of those up along with a couple turnigy 1000mah 7.4's for the stepsons gun when i convert it to deans that is
-
wooooohooo royal fail finaly delivered my gears and motor can now get the 621 living again :D.......till something else breaks hahaha
-
that's good news dude, funny enough I had a customer in Scotland who I posted out on the very same day, had the same problem. - delivered today. I get the feeling whenever there's an issue like snow then everything posted out on that day of problems gets shunted to the bottom of the queue instead of being dealt with first.
In these situations everything gets delivered right near or on the 10th working day so they can avoid any claims - crazy

Not really in to painting stuff myself
only really krylon'd some clear or two stuff black
but DAAAMMMNNNN that is pretty fine job it seems to me
did you use airbrush or just cans ???
I got some basic airbrush kits & compressor
but was for a project at work to spray silicone & counter
at counted intervals to keep production machine running
(reducing static build up - fucking worked & fun project)
I could easily dig them all out & go nutz
but not my thing really - can't be arsed
BUT - credit where credit is due...
-
thanks man rattle can almost forked out on a cheapo airbrush kit but i dont do warhammer anymore so would only get used for doing this so just went the tin route made my own stick on camo from sheet of greaseproof paper layer painters tape horizontal one side flip over and vertical the next cut out the shapes and boom u have double side stick on stencils
-
what is it with my luck in guns step son asks to use his for a bit of plinking so hell yeah break em out hes going easy on his did a few full auto bursts nothing stupid like mag dumping then switchs to semi few more shots then piston jams up *not a blockage*take it apart the spur gear has lost a tooth.so have ordered a rocket high torque motor and 13-1 gears for my gun and will transfer my gearset and motor to his hehe silverlining and all i suppose

A thing to watch out for is using agressive Active Braking
with some motors like SHS, G&G type cans/end-bells
Something to do with a mildrisk of shorting from two allen bolts into lockring under end-bell
Pete @ak2m4 does metion certain motors don't like agressive AB on Titans etc...
and being now the 621 has the Perun Optical in there...
Then be careful perhaps at using high levels of AB
TBH - you could get the SHS/RA with vented can
and if it goes a bit funny then shove the motor in 516
and then 13:1 in the 621 will still help
the 621 motor is probably a little bit better than the 516 one
the really cheap 516 Cyma motor is a 27tpa but really chucked together by a 3yr old - yes really a 3yr old
The Grey Cyma 27tpa, has no bearing in motor tower/shaft
the windings are crimped on and then somebody shot their load over the commutator - coz their is white rock hard heat resistant glue all over it - different to blue/green heat cement to hold winding in place on armature
presume to "balance" the mtor - nah, don't look like it carefully affixed - just splodged on at random where winding is crimped to commutator - it's fucking rock hard so forget ever trying to rewind this armature
Now some of the higher end Cyma's use a chrome/silver motor that "might" be say 22tpa and stronger magnets - in higher guns even perhaps weak neodym or stronger ferrite perhaps.
But certainly seems to perform a bit better in Cyma's high speed 13:1 Short Stroked HS G36's etc...
So you might get better performance just by using the 13:1's in 621 without needing the SHS/RA motor
But you could still grab one to try and if it plays up with Perun on AB
Then keep Cyma motor in 621 now with 13:1's
& chuck the SHS/RA in the 516 for added zest on 18:1's
Thing is atm, a number of bits are getting thinner on the ground
in stock or at reasonable prices whilst this import malarky begins to settle down a little
So some bits like motors from China might be limited availability for a little while longer & people like Pete have few options in stock atm
Now personally I think the specs of the RA vented 16tpa is not quite correct...
https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/motors-parts/rocket-high-torque-motor-long
See if that was 16tpa then it should be a bit higher on rpm on 8.4v at say 28k
and maybe the amp draw a bit higher than 3.5a unloaded
as the true SHS hits 29k at 4.8a
now these motor specs/performance do vary quite a bit
and some of the tests may have been done on one from a batch
and different magnet strengths, wire thickness SWG etc...
Plus China sweatshops revise stuff all the time
(quality can vary hence the term: Chinese lottery)
Personally I think the motor is perhaps somewhere like a 18tpa
at say aprox 25k rpm but could be way way off with my gut feeling about the vented RA
However limited choices atm, and if issues arose
then you could just chuck it in 516 I guess
if it was say a 24k/25k motor it should be OK for the 621
but if AB issues arose then no biggy to chuck in 516
& use the silver/chrome 621 motor on 13:1's
both guns then get a bit more snap anyway
-
if i use precocking feature on the perun then it negates the active breaking function so should be fine on that side of things
yeah the magnets in the 621 motor are strong as feck if im honest easily 5-6 x stronger than the 516's motor
i spoke to pete about the motor as was originaly going to get the shs one off his site but it was sold out in his words these are a smidge better than the shs ones
yeah man alwasy have the other one to throw it in if issues arrise
-
Yeah thought the chrome/silver 621 motor
"should" be a bit better than the 516 cheapo one
(tbh couldn't be any cheaper/worse than the 516 motor)
Only manufacturers do NOT ALWAYS fit the expected better
components as the gun/model's price tag increases
(usually this is true - though never always assume it will be)
Good to know it is a stronger neodym motor in there though
SHS is a good 28~30k motor
the RA seems (according to specs) to draw less amps
in line with being a 24k motor,
which is a good thing on 13:1 gears
(as said I'm slightly sceptical on specs if it really is a 16tpa
like can might say - more like 18tpa but who knows in the end)
but either motor combo will be an improvement
and the 516 gets a bit more zest either way
bit of work doing both guns
but I concur that it will offer a sensible outcome
where both guns benefit from it
and as said HOPEFULLY this upgrade malarky will reach a satisfying conclusion where both guns are sorted for a good while
-
e annoying wait on the airsoft shop openiong so can go get my parts
-
ahhh the rancid smell of burnt pcb love it.....not
-
well no wonder the 516 was noisy as shit!!!

Yeah that is pretty good for a Cyma tbh
they are normally not great, hardly anything
reckon somebody tweaked it when downgraded spring
G&G's starters are not brilliant either
JG's often have a double o-ring cylinder head
(which is pretty good)
& their std piston head offers good stock compression
yeah deans will help add say 1~1.5rps
motor is cheap/lame, not even a bearing on motor tower
but it is a £80 starter so can't expect too much
and I've bought a FUCKING LOT WORSE when I started
good job squire
-
did see what you meant about the crappy nozzles though!!!
yeah to begin with didnt think it would of made a gd seal but managed to get it as you saw
yeah have seen alot of g and gs that aint performing right
ahhh nice to know as have looked at a few jg snipers
haha yeah is a bit weak i may change that lol
nah i aint just getting it runnign gd for the wee man is main priority
thank you
-
They all might need a bit of work here n there
Never been able to get great compression
from a stock G&G piston with head all sorts of o-rings
(Cyma's are nice with new o-ring)
Some manufacturers make a slightly better model M4
& others make a better AK's - Cyma
(Cyma either cheap 028 or 040 series, avoid the cheaper 521)
& both JG & Cyma make decent starter G36's
G&G's are nice - their receivers are lovely, even plastic ones
they make nice looking models costing a bit more
boxes are finished a bit better & very TM Compatible
grey 18k motors are like slightly slightly better Cyma cheapies
& if lucky you might get a slightly better blue or
if very lucky a neodym orange ifrit 25k motor
(but usually in the £200 G&G's than the £130 Combat Machines)
G&G's with electronic ETU's can be picky for some people
which alas let them down & G&G lost some ground
whilst cheap as chips Cyma upped their game on many starters
at a much lower price - sure they aren't on G&G's level for finish
but a lot cheaper & quite robust for such a cheap starter gun
but in the end, as long as they go peew peew OK
that will often do just fine for a first gun or backup
ya did good sir - well done
-
shims ordered from local airsoft shop hopefully be able to pick em up tomoz then going to strip down and clean the 516 reshim and regrease get it sounding better than it does lol
-
was round at the wifes today so took both rifs and had a wee go in the garden gd old amazon box with home drawn paper target haha, both guns worked flawlessly hop set for around 50-60ft quite happy pther than noticing how noisy the 516 is compared to the 621 lol
-
epic fail go to test fire pull trigger and no bueno gun cycles.........forgot to put hop and inner barrel back in loooool
-
well thats the gearbox back together in the 621 seems to be running sweet as a nut so far now to clean barrel and get it bk together and chrono one part im dreading lol
-
anyone know where i can get the cable for a aep battery cgarger got the base bit the battery sits in just need the power cable

well the psu plug thingy like what comes free
in these cheap China guns
are not smart type that switch off once charged
and things being what they are I don't trust these free chargers as far as I can throw them
(also don't trust mains B3 & any charger with Nuprol on it)
so if you got a decent smart nimah charger
or
a B6 & enter details n shit into nimah menu
then hunt around for an old charger or lead
seems to be 3.5mm & 1.3mm as I said
splice it all up - positive polarity centre
IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING !!!
(if people can't use a test meter then stay away from electrics)
had to put that in there to warn idiots not to fuck with shit
ahem - then charge it up with a proper/better charger
sorted
-
i have a seperate lipo/nihm charger bud dont use the cheap ones with the guns i also have one similar to this but seperate balance board etc
https://www.modelsport.co.uk/skyrc-d260-ac-dc-charger/rc-car-products/447000
-
that's the correct approach
you needed the connector from Action Hobbies
then a power jack
and a bit of common sense - sorted
watch out - the black plastic top cap of batteries can come loose
no biggy to reglue it back
new AEP stuff...
old school nimah with iffy charger bastid...
-
well for a laugh decided do do a proper chrono on the cm516 with.2's im getting 346-349fps
with .25's 300-310 with a laughable 11 rounds per second lol
-
well to cheer myself up have treated myself to a mystery box from extreme airsoft lol
-
hoping piston arrives for my cm,621 so can get that back together, then my pistol mag should arrive today. aswell then just gotta wait on the charger coming lol hate having to order from multiple places lol

Due to potential/possible, perhaps deffo issues
of compatibility it is advised to look for a base gun
some gearboxes, some receivers, some rail systems etc...
do not always work together flawlessly as intended
resulting in more investigation, modification etc...
to get the fuck-pigs to work properly
the gun is a tarted up metal Cyma
same stuff inside nigh on as what you got
P&J is a rebrand given to some higher Cyma's
Thing is with DMR is min engagement distance & all that
the full stock though good for battery space
is not for everybody - especially smaller players
(there's flaws or pro's n con's with everything)
What you got are 2 like 300mm barrel M4's
which are not too short/long for new/young players
get to grips with those, hopefully play games one day
and get a feel for it all before going down DMR route
(as due to MED, it is different to just steaming into action)
You might buy a 3rd gun, so you got a spare for you & kid
You might stick to M4, you might look to AK or G36
but see what happens after a few games
-
@miserydrift you do realise no matter how perfect you’ve got it working at home the minute you cross the door step of the game site it’ll all go tits up and stop working ! 😳
-
@druid thats why i have 2 m4's lol
@sitting duck oh i know bud thats why it will be a long term build plan as i will be sourcing parts that fit
yeah bud that was just a rough basis of what style of dmr i do plan to build m4 base unit long ass barrel and hand gaurd and decent stock
yeah im fine with the min engagement etc
yeah had him holding the rifle earlier defo will get him a smalller stock if and when the internals go and i cheapo mosfet it for him ill be able to reduce the stock size then going to lipo
m4's my base for now as always love the look of m4's espicialy the longer barreled ones with keystone handgaurds *drools* was always gun i used in games online etc i do love a sniper though and plans for a bolty to but want to build a dmr eventualy but again like i said that is a looooong time off as i will be doing my research into the parts etc
i do have a plan for a 3rd rif but unsure what i will go with not fan of g36 like ak's but there just not for me style wise,i do like umps so thats another possibility espicialy for cqb games although just contemplating gbp for cqb indoor with a gd few mags
haha i know after a few games im gonna be heavily invested in it,have wanted to get into this for a couple years now but always held back lol
-
2nd day no sleep may aswell watch some war films first up.full metal jacket then apocolypse now after that im open to recomendations

Here's something a little different. I rewatched The Hill after about 25 years, stars Sean Connery set in a military prison in north Africa during WW2. Phenomenal bit of film making. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059274/
