Welcome to both the forum and airsoft in general. If you are buying second hand for your first gun make sure you get to see and fire it before handing over any cash. Also make sure to check the Mack's thread first as this forum is pretty good for calling out people charging silly amounts. One thing that buying new gives you is the confidence that if something does go wrong you can take it back.

One thing I've just thought of. What are the gnus made of? For example the steel body of my E&L AK will take far more of a beating than the plastic body of my MP5K, so despite being significantly more expensive it's less likely to take significant damage so I'll feel more confident taking a fall (for example) with the AK

To be honest massive breakages don't happen too often. However if you're worried about more minor damage, then certainly leave those rifs at home as skirmishing with them will result in minor scratches etc. Although having a gun to use in game rather than using one you want to keep box fresh sounds like a good excuse for a shopping spree

As above. If it's the 100 round ones 99% of pistol mag pouches will do the trick and if it's one of the bigger ones a single M4 mag pouch will

Welcome, as others have said there's loads of useful information for new players here. There's nothing wrong with turning up alone as most airsofters are a friendly bunch and won't bite. Just a heads up that the vast majority of airsoft youtube videos don't really give a realistic insight into games as they're usually heavily edited. Even the better ones should be considered little more than highlights

For example in my collection performance would be the MP5K, reliability would be the AKS74U and for fun would be the gas shotgun (unless I've got a big bag of pyros) Remember, what works for one person might not work for you
