Yeah this is the GBB URGI, not the AEG. First things first give the barrel/hop a clean and check if the nozzle has a restrictor disk, they are awful and can cause horrible consistency issues. If you do have the restrictor then you'll probably be wanting to pick up a standard VFC nozzle with an NPAS or a CL project adjustable valve to put in your current one. Either way it is always useful to have a spare nozzle on hand. The two allen key screws holding in the nozzle might be glued to within an inch of their lives though so watch out for that. The URGI has the two piece barrel design with how the hop up works, so that might need tightening as well, I'm not too sure on that one though as the VFC M733 and spare upper I own have a one piece barrel setup. If it's still a bit wank after that then grab a new hop rubber, you'll have to cut off the indexing tab on the side to fit it. I've been using PDI W-hold and Unicorn buckings in my M733 and secondary upper to good effect. You can also swap out the hop unit to the GHK 2022 unit with a tiny bit of filing, but no point in that if your unit is doing the job. Barrel can be left as is, it does the job well enough. Also, if you're running it during the colder months you can pick up AMG winter hammer and buffer springs. Oh and run some decent heavier weight BBs through it, .32s are the sweet spot before the big jump in price. I've had my V3 VFC for just under a year now and it has been fantastic.

I've been using one of the GHK speedloader adapters glued on to a generic loader for my VFC mags, works a treat. I'll need to swap it around to a new one soon though as the loader is on its last legs after years of use 😩

Like the other folks have said you're better off with a 'dry' gas, the silicone is being sprayed through your hop rubber and barrel which messes with your accuracy and means you have to clean a lot more often. As for seals, I think you're better off doing them manually with a decent grease (something like superlube 21030, I've started using that based on recommendations from the heavy recoil club discord and it works brilliantly for everything GBB). I've been running ultrair pretty much all year round and now with the orange/red stuff they've put out I'm sorted if I need anything when it gets a bit colder. Super5ives also do the ultrair orange/red and works out a few quid cheaper. Free postage over £50 so pretty decent if you stock up on a few at once! The regular/brown cans you can pick up at one of the generic bbguns websites in bulk and works out about 5/6 quid a can or thereabouts.

You'll be fine with ultrair, I run it year round in my TM G17. Only time to really avoid standard propane/green gas with most TMs in the UK is when the temperature gets higher. Over 25C and you'll be best off stepping down to a lower power gas

Yeah I call bullshit on that. I bought a PP2000 a few months back from Gunfire and it got through customs fine, was just a bit slow through the UPS warehouse.

What Terry said. UKARA just makes it easier for a retailer to confirm you are actually an active airsofter rather than having to contact a site directly. Also UKARA is a non profit organisation, as far as I'm aware the only "money making scheme" is local sites charging for a sign up.

One thing you wish you knew coming into airsoft?
Shaydee replied to ODST's topic in General Discussion
HPA is not magic pixie dust. It does not immediately make your gun the bestestest around. GBB is fun and not as much of a pain in the arse as people make it out to be (if you do your research and buy the right thing - which hopefully you'd be doing anyways!) And as a "wish other people knew/did this", if you're going to tinker with your gun buy a bloody chrono 😄 -
Well, it would only fit if you had a TM based CYMA, so if you had a CM.045 you'd be out of luck. Even then you'd still need to attach the buffer tube somehow and that receiver is for full stocks. Get a buffer tube adapter like has been posted above.

I've got a V3 Maverick (essentially a T1/2 style dot) that I've been using for about a year and a half now. Very good dot for the price, no issues with parallax and the dot is clear, battery lasts a fair while as well. Also got a 3x magnifier from them and that's got nice clear glass also. They get a recommend from me.

Did you adjust the hop up at all before firing those shots? If not, do so. The AAP needs a touch of hop to do anything, as when it's off, it's very much off. It's either that or the arm has come loose during shipping, of which I've heard of a few instances happening. Mag doing leaky things is just the joys of warehouses and airsoft QC I guess. I'd be the type to sort it myself (bit of silicone oil in the fill valve and a bit of pressure overnight and a lube of the bolt to help it out), but best to excercise the right to a return/replacement/refund whilst we've still got some consumer protection cutting about 😅

Will lose a bit of efficiency as the gas router for WEs are flat rather than curved like the TM. You can pick up a replacement rubber for a few quid and swap that out pretty easy.

Looks like a standard WE Glock 17/18 magazine to me!

330-350 on .30? That'll up you to DMR level energy at ~1.5 - 1.7J , which means you'll most likely have to lock it to semi. Why are you ordering from Evike? Needless extra cost (import fees, handling charges, etc) and lengthy shipping times when you can get stuff like that from within the UK (AK2M4 would be my go to). If you don't know what a perun mosfet or precocking is and you're looking at a GATE Titan, I'd highly advise you to do some more research before you start spending cash left right and centre.

Classic weekend skirmish just with a massively inflated playercount 😄

Going for the first time with a few lads from my local site, mainly just to see what it's like. My expectations are low, I'm expecting a clusterfuck of the highest order. Should be a nice target rich environment though 😄

Nope, It's just a fill valve replacement. If you want to take it back to gas you unscrew and pop the old valve back in.
-
Sounds like your magazines have been devilhunter modded, essentially taking the standard green gas mags and switching to CO2 fill and knocker valves allowing you to use liquid CO2 in the magazines. It's a pretty common mod for GHK magazines, give it a google or join the GHK owners group on Facebook and you'll be able to search for the info you need (I only know what I've read on the net). As far as I'm aware you can get the Madbull CO2 charger and use that to fill the magazines, either by using the prefilled cartridges, or a paintball tank filled with CO2. Again I'm not 100% on that so do your own research to be sure.

100% agreed with Leadly. What's different spending money on one of these to use as a primary compared to a hicapa build, buying a TM MWS or other gas rifle, upgrading your existing AEG, etc, etc. A lot of those are great out of the box and don't necessarily need to be touched. There are many aspects of this hobby that you can easily not spend money on, but if people want to they'll spend it.

Judging by the majority of things I've read on the Facebook owners group and the like, the main part of the hammer that breaks is the tab preventing the triangular style hammer from fully rotating. So when it does break you can clean it up, pop a 9mm roller bearing and file a bit off the rear of the hammer housing to ensure semi and full auto work. This is what I'll be giving a go when mine inevitably dies using it as an SMG. Worst case I'll just grab a CowCow or AA one, not a massive expense in comparison the most of the stuff in this hobby 😅
-
Are you talking about the actual dust cover or the mock bolt? G&P dust covers don't close as standard from what I've read and if the receiver I've got has the original one then I can confirm that is the case. As for the gearbox I have no idea if that's G&P or not as I bought my receiver second hand, I can confirm that an E&C box seems to fit without issue however.

Do you already own the Tokyo Marui variant? If not, get a clone instead, something like a CYMA 701.B, or a JG BAR 10. They're a fraction of the cost and compatible with upgrades, if you're stripping everything out you won't be missing much. Only reason I bought a TM years back was every clone at the time was out of stock and I wanted a boltie 😓 Hell, you could maybe look at something like an Action Army T11, comes with a 90 degree trigger and piston already. Depends on if you like the styling I guess. PDI chamber is meh, no need for the double bar system, it's more fiddly than it's worth. Grab the action army hop unit instead, much better and functions as a TDC without needing a TDC (you can still add one if you desire later down the line). Along with that you'll need a VSR cut barrel and a bucking, any nice stainless steel barrel paired with something like a Maple Leaf autobot/MR hop will be great, grab a panthera nub as well for a more even distribution of pressure on the hop. When it comes to springs grab a rapax 2J (I've only heard good things about these) or a PDI 450, along with a 9mm spring guide of some variety. Makes the bolt pull a lot easier than a standard M150 due to the increased diameter of the spring.

It has been ordered! 😄 Grabbed it from skirmshop.nl as it's sold out everywhere in the UK, I'll take a hit on the customs fees this time. AW drum should be here next week and got the HPA tap valve waiting for it. Hammer bearing on the way from WGCshop for when the hammer kills itself as well. All the Waldo gear dropped in along with the TTI trigger and selector as they showed up yesterday, feels nice. Can't wait to have a pop with it next game!
-
Sounds good to me, more money to burn for the Airsoft god's then. Good shout on the colouring, might just stick to silver or go boring all black. Yeah I did see the TTI selector comes with a set so you can use it with the stock. Nice to have a spares and some customisabilty though I think. Can always throw it in another one later down the line for pistol use rather than stripping this one down. Cheers dude
-
How are you folks finding the folding stock, is it pretty solid? I'm thinking of going the SMG route also, already got the HPA gear for my DMR so fancy a little bbrrrrrtttt machine with the stock and handguard combo. Ordered a Waldo kit with the nozzle spring, a 9mm Poseidon bearing for when the hammer inevitably shits the bed and a few other bits. Probably grab the TTI trigger and selector - how's the quality @Skara They seem to be nicely machined from what I've read on the facepants page
-
Both of the bits above are spot on - I'd echo the spare gun sentiment, at least be prepared to fork out for a rental. One thing I will add is to budget for a chrono, unless you have one readily available at short notice. Too many times I've seen people fiddle with their toys, put it back together and go "it fires, ready for game day!" and it's either spitting rounds out underpowered or they're not able to use the gun at all as it's over the limit.
