Well, before I put it in my L85 I had it in my G&P M16 for a bit whilst I was waiting for my L85 to get back from the shop and it just worked right off the bat. Standard AEG hop rubbers have a groove along the bottom inside edge though and the female groove in the barrel is a lot shorter, so it doesn't mesh 100% with hop rubbers, but they do work. It also doesn't mesh with the lugs that hook into the grooves on the side of the barrel to hold it in place, so you can either leave the retention bit out, as it doesn't really help much, or you can just put it back in anyway, though it won't fit properly. I held the barrel in place by wrapping tape around the outside of it to create a friction seal between the inner and outer barrels. Once it was in there it worked fine, really made a properly noticeable difference as well. One more thing though, the outside diameter of the barrel is wider than the stock barrel, meaning it's quite a tight fit in the hop unit, I had to use the stock rubber as the madbull one is slightly thicker and wouldn't squeeze in. As for making it fit in my L85, I just cut the madbull hop rubber in half so that the groove along the bottom inside edge did mesh properly with the barrel, then removed the standard L85 retention piece and then did the same as in the M16 to hold it in place, just wrapped tape around the barrel until it fit very tightly into the outer barrel. Works a dream. Hop is barely on at all and the gun shoots at least 45m before there's even a hint of pellet drop.

I just managed to fit the L96 500mm twist barrel I have in my L85 and it works FLAWLESSLY, I hardly even need .001mm of hop on and the range is staggering, accuracy is also very good and best of all despite what people say about the fps needing to be low, I've just tried shooting it on the 400fps with .20s setting, except using .25s and the range just gets better and better. So what I now have, is the coolest looking gun ever (shut up Tom) that can be made PERFECT for EVERYTHING right across the board, from CQB, to midrange woodland, to DMR standard accuracy and range. The only super suckish thing, is that I didn't manage to fit the twist barrel in time for my skirmish yesterday, so I had to contend with average tight bore range and for some reason my stupid hop unit decided it was going to send my shots 500m in the air despite not even being on. I had my ACOG's up post maxed out and the shots were still flying out of view, I could only kill anyone at extremely close or extremely long ranges lol. Still, it was an awesome day, I don't think I'll ever play as part of a 75 vs 75 man team again until the NAE. My christmas walkie talkies worked a treat as well, we stayed in constant contact with the mortar team 500m down the road, 'twas thoroughly awesome.

I see at LEAST 10 squirrels in my garden every single day lol, where do you live, squirrel-free-land? But anyway, I'm happy because I have my L85 back, it's all sorted out, works great, looks awesome, skirmishing it tomorrow for my first skirmish of 2012, which is a free member's day, so there's going to be 100+ people there to make jealous with it! =D

YAY! Patrol Base have finished with my L85, so hopefully now the batteries will actually fit inside it and I'll be able to use it on Sunday =D The only crap thing is that I'll have to actually go and pick it up as they can't have it posted to me for tomorrow D:

I have, I just saw he was online so I've PM'd him, but got no reply. I'll have to ring the shop tomorrow. I was hoping they'd get it sorted for Thursday, post it out the same day and have it back to me for Friday, as that gives me some tamper time to sort my barrel mod out. But since it's now past the point where it can be posted today, I'm going to have to HOPE they've got it sorted out by tomorrow and can post it to me for Saturday morning. Or, if that fails as well, I might be able to get it done on Saturday and then go and collect it from them, but that gives me no time to fit the barrel and test it as I'll be going back to my dad's with it and he doesn't have a garden...

I was hoping to hear from Patrol Base about my L85 today, but I haven't. If I don't hear from them tomorrow then there's no chance of me having it in time for the massive skirmish on Sunday and that will thoroughly piss me off, since I left it with them two weeks ago.

I'VE FINALLY FINISHED ALL MY ASSIGNMENTS!!!!!!!!! I'm actually free, for the first time since November and I still have a week off =D Hopefully I'll have my gun back before next weekend, then I'll be set for my first skirmish of 2012.

I agree. BUT! Lockdown needs to have every copy ever made destroyed. The "Realistic" difficulty on Vegas1/2 is terrible as well. But Lockdown... that just was the most massive pile of turd ever. I think Black Arrow was my favourite. I used to love that such a seemingly basic game actually included proper reloading and gave you chambre rounds and stuff, that made the series for me. Realism ftw.

Yeah, then after that you had to live off 9p noodles until Christmas and have a worse standard of living than Castiel/Lizard lol.

I'm angry because the fire arms laws in this country are so damn annoying and often also retarded! I wish I lived in the US, I think I was born in the wrong country. I'm trying to get into .22 shooting so I can get a Section1 FAC because I want a .22/.17HMR rifle for outdoor, ranged shooting, but apparently you can only own guns for a "good reason" and enjoying the use of them is apparently not an adequate one, whereas, "I want to kill cute animals" is. What the hell is going on with the world?

Great... I'm angry because as usual, Uni is teaching me little else aside from how utterly pointless and crap the whole institution is.

The best game ever for me has to be Crash Team Racing for the PS1. I still play Killzone 1 and Sniper Elite on the PS2 as well, they're great games.

Despite my love for airsoft it always has to throw the largest knife into my back that's ever existed at every single available opportunity. ACOG mount just came through the door for my L85, it didn't come with any screws for attaching the ACOG to the mount and I wasn't expecting it to. What I was expecting was for the screws that fasten the ACOG to its original base plate to be long enough to be of use with this new mount as well. Well, they aren't. Thankfully, I have a meccano helicopter that had some smaller screws and nuts as well. So I've managed to securely fasten it with those =D Thank fook for Meccano xD

I remember the mortar guy lol, damn you haha. I get the window fail glitch all the time, I think of it more as a vaulting glitch though, it happens to me when I try and get through windows, over walls, and nearly every single time I try to vault a wall that's been blow up to make it low enough to get over. It's caused me to get killed a ton of times, I wish they'd sort it out.

Did you? Lol. I honestly didn't realise it was you, was that the game where you messaged me "I found you"? I don't like Wake Island that much on Normal, the red spotting things make it impossible to hide as there's not much cover. It's a sniper's paradise on Hardcore though lol. I think I might stick with Normal mode for a while anyway, my K/D ratio has been improving non-stop since the hardcore servers went down. Got my kills up by 350 and only died 50 times. What's that, like a K/D of 7? I wish I'd never played Hardcore xD

Finally got my ACOG mount =D And later I'll order my MP5's new charging handle. Just as soon as I find the phone. Edit: Done it now Hopefully I'll have those both before the end of the week, then I just have to hope Patrol Base get my rifle back to me before the end of the week and that they've managed to squeeze those liPOs into the RIS and I'm more or less sorted. All that remains is to try my barrel mod for the hop twist L96 barrel and if it fits, my gun will be complete and I'll get some photos of it up in the load-out section =D

I've not bothered Nick, my gas sniper wasn't up to much, it was all stock and not that great. So this is still better, even if it is still crap lol. There's an M100 spring it in at the moment, would it take an M120 without modification? Since it only cost £50 to replace the piston, piston head and some other stuff, I imagine if anything goes it'll be those parts, the gearbox must be pretty solid. So I can just replace those parts as need be since it's relatively inexpensive. That is assuming it will take an M120 though. Anyone know? If I get the fps up to 360, stick a tight bore and new hop up rubber in and I reckon it'll be pretty good lol. If my barrel mod for my L85 doesn't work with the twist barrel I've got, then I'll see if it'll fit in the M16, then the fps can stay as it is. I just have to wait for my L85 to come back first and apparently that could take 2 weeks quite pissed off about that. The M16 took about 3 days. Dunno what's going on. Finius, I'm getting the hang on it lol, I'm still learning the names of bits and bobs and figuring stuff out. I've heard loads of words thrown around and have no real idea what they refer to. I've also not dared open a gearbox yet. But I can totally do barrel and hop mods and stuff lol.

Recently all the Hardcore servers have been non-existant on the 360, I don't know what's happened to them but I've been playing Normal in their absence and oh my god, I'm so much better at Normal xD I've been averaging 20 kills to 5 deaths, on hardcore I tended to go about 8 for 3 or something similar. Increased my kills by 250 and only died 40 times since I got the hang of the fact you have to shoot people a hell of a lot more, I had this tendency of spraying a burst long enough to kill someone on hardcore and once I stopped, they were still standing and just killed me lol, lots of epic fails. I also keep throwing grenades when I want to sprint because of Skyrim xD Just now I went 19-0 with a shotgun using regular buckshot. People really do need killing though, I can kill about 4 or 5 people with one M4 mag on hardcore, I rarely manage more than 2 on normal. Sniping is basically the same though, except silencers make the guns terrible, the SVD takes 3 hits with a silencer on it, what the hell is up with that?!

Today is going crappy for me. Went to Patrol Base to get my M16 back and have some wires shortened in my L85 buuut, my L85 decided to stop working for no real reason when I tried to chrono it, so now instead of just getting the wires done then and there, I've had to leave it with them to do it and sort out why it's dead. So what could have been free, will now cost £25+ and then postage to have it sent back to me. Then there's the M16, it was broken and doing 270ish fps, now it's fixed it's only doing about 310, a shameful fps for an M16 in my opinion, I was hoping for at least 360 So 30 - 40fps cost me £58. Kinda miffed tbh. At least I ought to have a charging handle for my MP5 by the end of the week.
