Adapters arrived today .I've only had a quick look, but 33g dont fit. And the 'spike' looks to be machined in so not easy to rethread, although possibly with a lathe. I'll take one to work with me tomorrow and pop into a bike shop, see what sizes they have that will fit. I 'think' 25 g should in which case I'll grab a few and see how they last in a game.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Nick G replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Thanks for that. I'll digest it and order some goodies. Bolt was from memory black so V2 I have a couple of Lancer mags on the way to top me up to start with. Shame that M/L rubbers don't work as they are my usual goto for my GBBRs. Flamingo it is ! -
Awesome, nice result . And handy to know if mine does the same !

DE Noveske N4 in FDE , 'cos the wife insisted I have a new gun for Chrismas 😁 It arrived today, but after a quick check over it was whisked away and wrapped , so got to wait now ! Still , that gives me time to collect a few bits for it , M/L barrel etc -
How does it compare size wise with the spring in a normal high cap mag ? it'll basically be the same winding system.
-
Mine are showing as in transit, so with a bit of luck , may get them in a week or so. If the 33g threads are to large I'm thinking to try a couple of 25g ones. Those are the same thread as 12g as far as I can see and 2 x 25g should last a game . As I think you suggested, it might be possible to drill and tap the adapters for larger capsules. As long as it'll all fit in the box mag I'll be happy.

Anyone used the Co2 box mag for VFC M249?
Nick G replied to Mini airsoft's topic in General Discussion
Not my experience of it . The CO2 box mag is very good , I find I go through much more ammo than with the green gas mag as longer bursts are not a problem for it and the 249 properly rocks along on CO2. That said, there are a couple of issues that we have come across. First the size capsules the mag is designed to use are not easily available in the UK, most of us are running 88g capsules, but that does require modding the mag as they are longer. We have also had a couple of occurances of the hose failing, although it's any easy fix. Have a read through the VFC M249 thread in the gas section. They can be converted to hpa and then use an aeg mag, but for most of us that spoiles a big part of going GBBR, mag changes , limited ammo , not looking like a ghostbuster , if you want to spray and pray go hpa. Horses for courses , but the CO2 mag is worthwhile for winter use. I used the Green gas one all summer without any issues . -
Drum mag on the Apache. Whilst I'm not a huge fan of drum mags , it'll be handy in games to have 300 rounds , especially in cqb.
-
I'm the same, nothing lighter than .30's and I use Geoffs which I find to be a good reliable quality.

Ordered a couple of these to try. If they work then I should be able to use a much wider range of capsules. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C7Z3N8TY?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title I'll report back once thet arrive, but I'm thinking that 25g capsules might be worth a go. It looks as though they use the same thread as the 12g ones. But if not then 2 12g should last a game . I have a 33g capsule, so can check the thread size once the adapters arrive.

Ran it today. Had the CO2 block setup in a large mag pouch. Worked fine , but reminded me of why I don't want to go hpa, having the line between me and the gun was a total fag. We definitly need to find some thread adapters to allow the use of 33g capsules. Also suffered the line failure though, well nearly, noticed the line was balooned at the point it goes into the block. Spotted it as I went to diconect after the last game, so although it didnt go pop it certainly would have done if I'd kept going. Gun ran flawlessly though, lots of range as usual. The speed loader adapter is great, was able to reload during games which was handy.

I'd certainly be interested in thread adapters to use the smaller capsules. I'm running mine tomorrow, and I 'might' just put the CO2 block into a Minimi mag pouch , it fits with the two 88's, just uncomfortably close to hpa for my liking ! Ability to get it into the box mag without extensions or tape would be good. Interestingly, I had an invoice arrive from ups today for the customs charges on the CO2 box mag. Since I've had the mag for a couple of months I'm tempted to tell them to do one , didn't request it at the time when sodding about with the delivery ? tuff !

Solid stock ? you devient ! 😆

My Umarex / WE GBBR. Shoots very well, has a loud crack and a decent recoil , capable of massivly over hopping .30's on the stock setup.. As with the rest of my WE GBBRs I've not had a single issue with it.

Got one of the Jaeger precision speed loader adapters, very handy bit of kit. I can now load my mags with a 'normal' loader. Which means I can reload during a game.

Ordered a part for the GBB M249 from them a couple of weeks ago. It arrived in about 10 days with no issues.

Fun day today . Horrid weather forcast on top of a week of insesant rain kept the numbers down to twenty something. But I like low numbers days 'cos the play is way more tactical . Good mix of games which were hard fought by both teams. I think the Blue team wone more than us in the end , but it was all fun . No agro or idiots, just fair and sensible play bt all. Went all gas as usual , the L119 A1 continues to be my main go to gun, but the new Apache MP5 was great . First shot in game got a kill 😂 Had feeding issues with the drum mag unfortunatly , but I've had a quick look and it's an easy fix. The 45 round mags worked flawlesly . Just took the 2 today , gave the M249 a day off. It was very muddy and slippery in the woods though, so no running !

The drum mag I ordered from KY for the new WE MP5 arrived today, that's less than a week. Suffice it to say it's packed for tomorrows game ! -
Last game day , some one was talking about an issue with semi auto on his gun, I went 'haha he said semi !' chap next to me nearly choked on his tea 🤣

If you take the slide off and then turn it upside down, try moving the fire selector and see if you can see (I think) triger reset part move. It should move from hard up against the edge of the slide towards the centre of the slide as you operate the selector.

Added a small red dot to the GBB SD . Put a few mags through it yesterday and it shoots very nicely. Only did a rough hop set , but there is plenty of adjustment left so I can obviously go heavier than the .30's I run in all my GBB kit. Chronod it , and it was a tad 'warm' that was outside with a mag that had been used once and refilled so the mag was cold and with red gas. Fitted a spare restrictor disk that was in the draw and it was then at .90 j in a cold garage on green gas. So should be nicely skirishable at that. A warm mag or red gas will pop it just over the 1.0j mark . It's basically doing the same figures as my MP7 , so happy with that. I plan to look at fitting a tracer unit into the front of the silencer, but will need to work out what length inner barrel I'll need as the existing one runs full length. That will be a project for over the winter, I'll run it as is for now. Oh and ordered an AW drum mag for it from KY , will report on what that is like once it turnes up.
-
That's a strange one ! I've got some spare line if mine decides to do the same. what did you do with the box mag to hold the 88g bulbs ? I do like it on CO2 , but I'm definitly going through more ammo Lol, I must get another pack of BB mags when I find them in stock. The beast continues to impress , its so much fun to use in a game, and the noise and range are great for suppression.

If you are starting with a 'working' lower in the colour you want then it is just the hammer assembly you need to swap. Obviously if you start with a bare frame (as I've done once or twice) you have to swap everything over .
