Fun day today . Horrid weather forcast on top of a week of insesant rain kept the numbers down to twenty something. But I like low numbers days 'cos the play is way more tactical . Good mix of games which were hard fought by both teams. I think the Blue team wone more than us in the end , but it was all fun . No agro or idiots, just fair and sensible play bt all. Went all gas as usual , the L119 A1 continues to be my main go to gun, but the new Apache MP5 was great . First shot in game got a kill 😂 Had feeding issues with the drum mag unfortunatly , but I've had a quick look and it's an easy fix. The 45 round mags worked flawlesly . Just took the 2 today , gave the M249 a day off. It was very muddy and slippery in the woods though, so no running !

The drum mag I ordered from KY for the new WE MP5 arrived today, that's less than a week. Suffice it to say it's packed for tomorrows game ! -
Last game day , some one was talking about an issue with semi auto on his gun, I went 'haha he said semi !' chap next to me nearly choked on his tea 🤣

If you take the slide off and then turn it upside down, try moving the fire selector and see if you can see (I think) triger reset part move. It should move from hard up against the edge of the slide towards the centre of the slide as you operate the selector.

Added a small red dot to the GBB SD . Put a few mags through it yesterday and it shoots very nicely. Only did a rough hop set , but there is plenty of adjustment left so I can obviously go heavier than the .30's I run in all my GBB kit. Chronod it , and it was a tad 'warm' that was outside with a mag that had been used once and refilled so the mag was cold and with red gas. Fitted a spare restrictor disk that was in the draw and it was then at .90 j in a cold garage on green gas. So should be nicely skirishable at that. A warm mag or red gas will pop it just over the 1.0j mark . It's basically doing the same figures as my MP7 , so happy with that. I plan to look at fitting a tracer unit into the front of the silencer, but will need to work out what length inner barrel I'll need as the existing one runs full length. That will be a project for over the winter, I'll run it as is for now. Oh and ordered an AW drum mag for it from KY , will report on what that is like once it turnes up.

That's a strange one ! I've got some spare line if mine decides to do the same. what did you do with the box mag to hold the 88g bulbs ? I do like it on CO2 , but I'm definitly going through more ammo Lol, I must get another pack of BB mags when I find them in stock. The beast continues to impress , its so much fun to use in a game, and the noise and range are great for suppression.

If you are starting with a 'working' lower in the colour you want then it is just the hammer assembly you need to swap. Obviously if you start with a bare frame (as I've done once or twice) you have to swap everything over .
-
Quick follow up on CO2 bulb sizes. 33g ones are no good as the threads are a smaller diameter . So looks like it's the 88g ones or the 67g or whatever it is.

The WE MP5 SD turned up today. Ordered from Bespoke on Tuesday night so pleased with that. Feels very nice, only tried it in the garge , but seems to shoot well and 3 round burst id fun.

Other half suggested we both treat ourselves , I appear to have ordered a WE Apache MP5 almost before she finished saying it 😁 -
Ran mine again today, on CO2. First time with the NPAS in. I can wind that out a bit , was comfortably inside site limits. Also needed to adjust the hop a bit as it was overhopping the .30's I use in it. That could be the rubber bedded in now causing that I guess. I did drop it though, in the safe zone . 2 of us stood up at the same time back to back so didnt see each other and colided. One of those things. It did split the box mag though and broke the front sighte when it hit the ground. Box mag might glue, but I've got others. Ive ordered the DNA steel replacement front sight for it . One of those things and easily sorted. Performed amazingly as ever, rate of fire and range always surprise me every time I game it.

VFC M16A2 And HK MP5SD GBB Barrel Replacement Required
Nick G replied to Super64's topic in Recommend a Tech
And checked which way the thread is , CW or CCW . We've all tightened instead of loosened ! -
Wait, we're supposed to take playing dress up and running around with toy guns seriously ? 😆

Played at Survival yesterday. Combination of weather and recent road closures which had only just been re opened kept numbers down . About 28 of us, but what a great day ! . Now i Iove low number days 'cos it's way more tactical , add in a decent number of first timers and no snipers and it was bloody great. The rental guys all got stuck in and played well. Proper hit calling all round and fair play from everyone. We wone the first 3 games, and although we did probably work better as a team, the other team never gave up , none of that 'we're going to lose so meh' attitde, they kept coming right till game over. Pacey games using only part of the field each time , teritory game, raise / lower the flag in the village and get the barrel from the centre start point as close to the other teams HQ as poss. That one involved running into a hail of BBs ! Game 4 was interesting . I was made team leader (probably based on age 😂) and got to pick 4 other guys. We then had to rescue a casualty ( manakin on a stretcher) from the medic station and get him back to our start point. Other team of everyone else were already spread out covering th earea when we started. We seriously didn't think we'd do it, the casualty was so well covered, but a concerted push just before the end got him out with 2 of our guys running him back up the hill to base . At that stage i was completely soaked as it had rained pretty steadily most of the day and various body parts were complaining, so I called it a day. Ran my L119 A2 and G3 GBBR's , they both got stashed in the airing cupboard over night to dry them off before a strip and clean today.
-
It's quite simple GBBR's are just so much better 😁🤣
-
Most of my GBBRs are WE and I cant fault them, although I haven't tried their AK . A mate has the GHK one and seems to have gotten lucky with it. He hasn't had any issues with it yet that I'm aware of.
-
They will almost certainly have to be KWA GBBR mag cross compatability is very limited.
-
It's the valve knocker that fails, especially if you insert a mag without cocking the gun first. Slide doesn't need to be locked back, just cocked. TBH it's so easy to replace that It's not a big issue, A mate and I have been experimenting with a fix involving using a steel pin to replace the post the knocker 'spring' fits on ( thats the bit that snaps) Too early yet to know if it's a perminant fix. I run mine regularly and have actually had very few failures of the knocker, it lifts .30's happily and is a hoot to use.

1911's seem bad for this. It's usually the follower spring not having the strength to push the take down lever up . I've found on one or two where I've removed the detent pin that preses against the take down lever that sorts it. However the little spring that pushes on the detent also pushes the safety lever detent so a bit of fettling is sometimes required.

I just carry the spare mags in STANAG pouches. Mine are surpless ones so have a flap with velcro to close them. Rather than carry a second box mag ( I've never emptied one in an hour game ) why not just carry a bottle of gas ? Probably quicker to top off the mag rather than trying to swap them in a game.
-
It's a strange one, I know that lots of folk havn't had an issue with it. But mine did from day one with the box mag block. Always been fine with the STANAG though. Was your box mag gas block popping out , or are you taking preventative measures ?
-
I seem to recal that there is a small 'E' clip on the shaft that needs to be removed first. Yep, just checked mine. The clip is between the 'front' hinge tube of the cover and the tube on the mag feed port.
-
The Specnas use a better hop unit than the A&K, uses a proper nub in the correct orientation rather than the verticle one in the A&K
-
This is the likely culprit. You could take the spring out and stretch it a tad. The kick of the slide moving back when fired is probably enough to jolt the follower up to lock it back.
