  1. Last weekend, just went with the Black mtp as I hadn't used it this year. The WE L85 also hasn't seen much use this year. I serviced it the week before and fitted a crazy jet barrel that I had spare, and it ran very well and chalked up some nice kills.
  2. I'm now looking at my GBBR G3 and begining to wonder ........

Thought I'd experiment a bit with the gas feed from the box mag to see if I can make something totally secure and non invasive. Picked up the Airtac hpa kit, now I would only hpa it if I can get a bottle in the box mag and I wouldn't use the mag adapter which allows you to run an aeg box mag. The limited ammo and mag changes are part of the GBB experience for me. Very much at the proof of concept stage, but I've fitted the hpa adapter to the gun, just replaces the brass fitting in the mag well , and run part of the line that comes in the kit. On the mag I've used an hpa line I had knocking about which I cut in half , the rubber tobe pushes straight in to the fitting on the mag tank. I now have a QD fitting with a stop valve. The tank is holding gas fine. A quick test looks promising. The gun cycles fine, and that's with only a short fill and it's bloody cold in the garage . I'll do some testing at weekend and shorten the lines , may use the spare rubber section for the line in the gun as it's more flexible, so easier to route into the box mag. I wont be able to run it from the STANAG, but tbh I dont see that as an issue. If this works, it's totally reversable in about 15 minutes. I'll keep you all posted
  4. Oh my ! that's a very sexy beast
  5. They pretty much get stored as they are at the end of the day Lol. Red or green gas (whichever I've been using) but I dont top them off since I seldom run them empty , and if there are BB's in 'em they stay in 'em . In fairness I have left GBBR mags with a full BB load for extended periods and never then had an issue with the mag feeding all the BBs , although I am fussy about what BBs I put in my GBBRs
  6. Likewise and why my airsoft LiPo's go months at a time between uses
  7. You will have to change settings, but you will on any decent charger, Once you've done it it is very easy to get the hang of.
  8. God no, never ever ever ever use a nuprol charger, they are junk https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225792052496?epid=725234734&hash=item3492414d10:g:580AAOSwbPhlFA8e&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8AC9YjqX29FKZZX8CbwG%2FPsPsjiUFVc7Orwhch7xQAmzzwyWWNvRvuw%2FNBeKdzdIWFdSOIFKUFTgpDOnam%2B6wQdRNFgjSxaOYeGDp5H0e2PZ%2BKKbr5GYu87Z5TqEkXJ%2FOdNg7xhnaOIcoic0GvcOKJpFGQspuaQEHYFGI78TUdcaWhainiAlCZA3Ncp4KICl1CkFTr%2FvZYG4iuIyQSYvlTa4oiMOOGuuPoMVRvQcD6r8GzF8FTx9qmsh1Tu6R4xQ63KfTzGbyS9AMnmRVg3yKFnBHD3Phe4vbkf9q3aQ6pV6BEMpBKabrTvF7LUj5k6Dlw%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-rN9Lj8Yg I use an Overlander one for all mine, which is an excellent charger. The B6 seems well liked but mine failed on me so I replaced it with the Overlander.
  9. I never 'storage charge' any of my LiPo's not the airsoft ones or the ones for R/C . I just balance charge them after use and pop them in my storage box (ammo tin) Then top them off the night before I use them. I've had some of them for years and never had any issues doing it that way.
  10. I run the mags for my GBB G3 in surplus STANAG pouches. Each pouch happily takes a G3 mag, which must be at least as big as SCAR H ones
  11. The RA Tech parts can be hit and miss. A mate has steel bolt in his and it's fine. My steel bolt is in the spares draw and I'm using the WE one as mine just doesn't cycle right with the RA Tech. The trigger parts can also be iffy, I've had ones that work first time and ones I've had to fettle. Wouldn't bother with the nozzle, stick to a WE one with either an NPAS or restrictor disk fitted. TBH the only parts I've had to replace are on the mate's L119 A2 and the failures were down to user error rather than the WE parts ( someone charged it when it was in safe) Both my L119's are still all WE internals with the exception of the trigger parts in my A1 which I fitted because I had them rather than any issues. My 119's are my go to guns and both get alot of year round use with gas to suit the temperature , and I've not had any failures. Maple leaf rubber and Omega nubs fitted to them and a Crazy jet barrel is worth looking at.

https://www.bangbang.com.hk/products/dna-steel-receiver-for-vfc-m249-gbb Anyone tempted ? decent price for a steel receiver, but as an old git I'm not sure I fancy lugging the extra weight around

Another great day with it, some nice kills and I'm cosistantly impressed by the range it has running .30's
  15. I've got the VFC / Umarex one , and it's bloody great. Full size unlike the TM, shoots really well, lots of range and decent accuracy. Very distinctive 'crack' too when it fires. I run it regularly and never feel out gunned or dissapointed in it.

Hole drilled and tapped for a M3 bolt M3 screw/bolt fitted . It's about a 5mm long one from my R/C spares box. I've drilled the mag well so that the bolt presses down on the mag catch pretty much right over the 'wedge' that secures the mag. And belt feed tray cliped back down. Completely hides the mod, I don't bother to bolt the tray back down and never had an issue. I'm sure something else could be tried, but this works on mine, was quick and easy to do and importantly doesn't show . Just put the box mag block in, pop the bolt in and screw down untill it's starting to go tight, doesn't need to be over tightened which just risks stripping the thread. Only needs to prevent the mag catch from moving .

Playing at Survival combat games in North Devon , my usual site. I'll grab a picture of the mod after the rugby. It cant be seen once the feed plate is back down.

Yep, my belt is still longer than the VFC one by a roundor two. She'll be getting another outing on Sunday 😁

Spent a while fettling the fit of the box mag today. Shortened the air line more and filed out a slot for it on the top of the mag. Nicer fit and the bullet belt is much easier to fit now too. Also removed one round from the belt as it was a bit too long. Mine is made up of deac rounds with the top one from the vfc belt so it fits the 'wiggler'
  20. If its WE compatable, Socom tactical have steel replacements in stock https://www.socomtactical.net/zci-steel-hi-capa-replacement-external-hammer-black/ Fitted one of these to my Army Armament JW3 when the skeleton hammer broke,

Mine came loose even without the fake rounds . But I suspect the recoil shakes the catch just enough to release it. A stronger spring on the catch may solve the issue.

Exactly what mine has done from day 1, The stanag is very secure , but the box mag connector has always popped out. I've dealt with it by drilling and tapping a hole under the feed plate for an M3 bolt. This presses down on the mag catch and secures it. Not had the issue since. Not having the feed tray bolted down hasn't caused any issues.
  23. I'd certainly be interested in one for the GBBR Pulse rifle build
  24. Fun day again today. Only about 40 players , so tactical play was on. Both teams fought very hard, we were 3-0 up when I left, but that was I think down to us working ever so slightly better as a team. Each game was very close. Ran Gas all day, the WE based L119 A2 performed as well as ever, amate used my MP7 and had a blast with it, and the M249 was just so much fun, the noise alone keeps heads down 😂 I left half way through game 4 so I could get home to watch the rugby.

God these things are so much fun to game ! Ran mine today , mags filled to 120 using .30's . Despite it being 'chilly' this morning , it had no issues at all . Got some great kills with it, funniest thing though was watching players run away when you open up 😂 One chap came and found me after the game and sain 'bloody hell that thing sounds terifying' The para stock was a definite improvement in the woods running it short . Love this beast !
