@Druid799 - The thing that gets me is what else is wrong with it? If it's required that much back and forth or if they've simply failed to use the appropriate tools what else is on its last legs? Or is it the case that the internals were upgraded by someone else and the castle nut has ended up being damaged some other way? Finally given the type of gun it is and how much it costs why wouldn't you replace the castle nut prior to sale yourself? It beggars belief. This is the one which really got me though. These things are pretty damn durable so it really does make me question what happened for the flash hider to "unfortunately" get snapped off. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid package and if it were all tickety boo it would be a pretty reasonable deal. Then again the entire package looks as though it was dragged through a marsh... I mean how filth covered do your pouches have to be to be unable to tell what colour they actually are? Then again, they highlight the fact that the weathering is "all natural" so I guess the buyer can sleep soundly knowing that it's organic...

@osteoshot - I must admit I spotted this and upon seeing the images and description immediately went "nope". Unfair or not, this just screams to me that it's going to opening up a potentially expensive can of worms. I also spotted a TM NGRS HK417 in the classifieds which piqued my interest up until I read that the flash hider / outer barrel had been snapped with the seller suggesting it could be re-threaded to make the shorter version etc. Again, my brain started ticking over "well, how did that happen and what damage isn't apparent?". Consequently another resounding "nope".

@hunter511 - Personally I think it's something which could (if implemented correctly) be very good for the hobby, however, just because there is a qualification/certification for something doesn't guarantee that the quality of workmanship meets the same standard as another qualified technician.

@Wo1f - My only guess on this front would be if the G36 series was released early on in the NGRS lines development/deployment. It's my understanding that their AK's are also considered to be NGRS but it's only the newest one which offers a stop on empty feature.
-
@EvilMonkee - Out of curiosity which retailers would you recommend for the KWA ERG series rifles? In the past when I watched and read reviews for the KWA recoil rifles they seemed prone to component failures very early on in their lives. I'm not going to lie, I love my TM G36K and my only gripe with it is that it doesn't feature a bolt stop/stop on empty (please oh great spirit of Tokyo Marui, release an upgrade/update for this beautiful rifle) but I've been looking for a recoil AK-74M with stop on empty/bolt stop and as far as I know the only electronic option is a KWA. Based on my limited experience, and that of people I know how run them in my local area, the general consensus is that TM are the cream of the crop.

@Asomodai How are the motors from AK2M4? I realise they're a lot cheaper but how are they compared to the ASG Ultimate Infinity series of motors? -
@Asomodai - I read it as "yes, I'm having an attempt at profiteering". 😂

To be honest it'll be my first time using smoke etc due to attending a new site. Hopefully if the guys I play with enjoy it then we'll be able to look at some actual bulk orders. New purchases: Cleaning brush for my Camelbak and a Russian tourniquet and bandage to go on my AK's stock. -

@Prisce I picked it all up from Zero One Airsoft. There was a very minor discount on the 10 pack of EG67's but the service was excellent and they delivered for a reasonable price (think it was £8.50 next day). Realised I had a mild brain fart, didn't spot Mike's name in the tag, apoologies @Prisce -

@MikeMarden I must admit, that's on my wishlist for when I actually get a group together who want to do milsim. A few supplies. -
@paradoxum Very nice looking set up, it looks as though a lot of time, thought and effort have gone into it. Just out of curiosity, how long have you been in the game? I must admit I've got a game on Saturday and I'm contemplating pulling all the pouches off of my plate carrier and running my chest rig over the blank carrier.

@Jaypeg89 It might be worth posting a link to the pistol for further reference so people can be of more assistance.

@Asomodai a very nice find. I must admit it's been a long time since I've even heard an XM8 mentioned.

@Lee_3120Airsoft As others have stated, the purpose of this thread is to highlight adverts which are potentially exploitative or (as the title says) living in the clouds. If you look back over the last few pages or so there have been various adverts which have received criticism for a variety of reasons but namely due to over ambitious pricing. Just because you paid £120 (example price) for something doesn't mean it retains that value, or even 90% of that value. Quite the contrary, as virtually all goods in airsoft are subject to wear and tear thus increasing depreciation. You also need to factor in manufacturer, model and condition. In this particular instance you're attempting to sell a HFC pistol, a brand which is far from well regarded and which is firmly in the budget end of the price spectrum due to the product quality and usual pricing. Unfortunately in this particular instance it sounds as though you got caught you by one of the more nefarious retailers in the market and overpaid significantly. I'd also suggest taking time to consider the advert itself. If you're looking to sell something then right off the bat you need to have high quality pictures which show what you're attempting to sell at its best, something which your current advert completely fails to do. Secondly you need to price the item accordingly, based on the above criteria, should you have uncertainty or doubt about it's value there's always the appraisal section of the forums. Finally the way you decide to communicate and interact with the community goes along way. As it stands you're new to the community here with no previous seller/buyer feedback and with no post history on this forum, something which will immediately sound alarm bells for most. While it's disappointing to hear that a product you paid for is worth significantly less than you expected you have a few different choices when it comes to the way you react. The most productive reaction would have been to seek advice from the community, there's a staggering wealth of knowledge here and no end of helpful people. Alternatively you could have elected to ignore the post here and leave your advert as is (in the hope someone picked it up) or adjusted your advert accordingly. The last choice was to react in the exact way you did, which was to become defensive and abusive, something which will never garner a positive result. Where you go from here is up to you but as a first impression on this community it leaves a lot to be desired.

@Wo1f could you not order it from Camoraids or Fire-Support if they have stock available? -

Ordered an extra mag for my TM P226 and a different charging handle for my TM MWS. I've got a replacement stock on order for the MWS at present but unfortunately it's been delayed. -
New entry - Marui MWS rifles on the classifieds here (can't recall how to do the embed). Chap's asking for £515 p/u (there are two for sale). For comparison these can be had brand new from Fire-Support for £485.00 + P&P with the usual warranty and without the neon green/yellow. As a concession they maybe priced in such a manner due to coming from Portugal but for given they're second hand (even if they're brand new) they're still priced higher than an actual new one on home turf.

Agreed. Regardless of whether or not it's genuine, a potential £4 saving just doesn't warrant consideration.

Just picked up a Tokyo Marui Colt 1911 Series '70 Government Model. I had the opportunity to use it on Saturday and found it to be absolutely superb. The bluing on the slide looks brilliant, the photo's simply don't do it justice. I also picked up a Blackhawk CQC Serpa holster for it with a low ride belt mount. I've previously tried drop leg platforms and normal belt holster height but neither really felt "right", the low ride is spot on and it allows for a fast and smooth draw. -
I'd say it's The Minster in York.

Personally I don't think it's worth that price and regarding the £1500 build cost, I can believe it given the work was supposedly completed by KoA. The build valuation probably includes labour although looking at KoA's updated page and pricing structure, however, upon closer review I'd question the build cost in lieu of other packages but without historical data it's hard to judge. If I was a buyer I'd also want to see the invoice from KoA just to see what they actually did and to confirm it was done by them. On a side note, I'm not really sure why the cathedral/church photo was included... unless it comes with the gun in which case maybe £900 is an absolute bargain? Given the images are meant to represent what you get?

This definitely looks like a very nice bit of kit, or at least potentially. I've found myself contemplating my end of year project (joys of a brain that never bloody stops ticking over) and I'm considering a WE Thompson as the GBBR version looks like a ton of fun. This might be another option though with a much smaller margin for a headache once it materialises. Edit: On a side note I'm not sure why the proposed clip option is limited to 7 rounds, it's my understanding that the real No.4 could hold 10 rounds?
