Blackhawk Omnivore Considering you can get this brand new from Tactical-Kit for £65 (along with any applicable warranty support) I think the seller is being rather optimistic with their valuation. It's unfortunate that they've ordered the wrong thing in error but I just can't see it going for this much, especially with P&P thrown on top. Perhaps it's just me.

Just picked up a Ferro Concepts Slingster. I'm just trying to track down a stock at the moment but it appears as though it's in high demand. -
@GearTech Out of curiosity what's your inspiration? It looks incredible and to be honest it reminds me a bit of some of the uniforms and kit used in Terminator Salvation. Keep up the excellent work! @Lasbrisas17 Good work, I must admit I wouldn't mind a MICH myself but unfortunately my big fat head won't fit airsoft ones 🤣

To be honest this is how I load my mag's. I've got a speed loader with adapter but I've found that the easiest and quickest way of loading is still to use the loader it comes with. I've found speedloaders to be a pain in the arse to be honest. I am curious to hear how that Hurricane loader holds up though. edit: I must admit, I'm still attempting to find somewhere which has the stock I'm after available. Presently waiting for some email responses but I guess I'll just have to be patient for now.

Has anyone encountered a brand of aftermarket parts entitled "OMG"? It's a brand I noticed on J.K.Army while browsing for aftermarket parts and I was curious if anyone knew what they were like quality wise.
-
@_FIL_ If there's a leak I'd have thought that would hear it. To be honest my GBB experience is mostly with pistols. My thought on the overfilling was only if you had carried out the green gas mod, this wouldn't really apply to the stock magazines. @Wo1f is the resident guru for all things MWS but there are also various others around who might be able to be of more help.
-
@_FIL_ I was thinking of your mag's in relation to possible leaks. I can't comment on that particular Green Gas as it's not one I've ever heard of, let alone encountered. The actual capacity of the MWS magazines is pretty good out of the box and it'll take more than you realise, I'd suggest avoiding the Green Gas mod until you're used to how much they take as overfilling can generate issues (at least from what Badabing communicated to me). I think it's discussed earlier in the thread about how much to fill the mag's with (or I could be thinking of a video), it might be worth having a look through the earlier pages of this thread. I realise that we're up to 44 pages and growing but there is a lot of useful information amidst the general conversation/discussion.
-
@_FIL_ I was using my MWS on Saturday (stock, approx 14°c) with Nuprol 2.0 without issue. I'm not sure if this will help as a point of reference. Which gas are/were you using? Have you check for gas leaks?

MWS Mag's back on stock at Fire-support for £44 a piece. Get them while they're hot!

@AK47frizzle the price for the outer barrel, thread protector and suppressor isn't as outlandish as you may think. Good quality outer barrels for pistols can easily exceed £25 (rifles can easily cost at least twice this) and a high quality suppressor (TM or better) can cost a significant wad of cash. Clumpy also highlighted a very valid point in relation to the likelihood of these parts being replaced.
-
@AK47frizzle apologies but I believe you're missing the point which @E21A is making. While you may have added to the pistol with a variety of, arguably minor, upgrades you've taken away the key features of the HK45 Tactical. By taking away the threaded barrel and suppressor you're essentially peddling a standard HK45 and while you may have paid £170 from Wolf, the reality is that the average retail price is less than this for the HK45 Tac (let alone the normal HK45). As an additional note to the above the average magazine price tends to be around £25.00. The parts which you have removed would cost a new buyer approximately £100 to replace, assuming they wanted to return it to being a tactical. I'd recommend adjusting your price to consider the pistol as a standard TM HK45 which typically retails for approximately £140. I understand that it's frustrating having an advert challenged and criticised but this in no means a personal attack against yourself.
-
@E21A - You're correct, these can be had for around £160 brand new. I've had a look at his advert and I've no idea where he's purchasing his stuff from but if you want to replace the missing parts with original Tokyo Marui parts (if you can find them in stock) you could easily be looking at costs in excess of £99.95 + P&P, this is based off the prices over at Eagle6. Admittedly the seller is gracious enough to offer the suppressor for an additional fee of £10. I relation to the ambiguous magazine count, this is something I'd confirm in writing, but I believe that the seller is considering the HK45 as including the original magazine with an additional magazine, hence the " + 1 mag". To me the value drops once you start to strip away core features a product came with.

@Marauder211 which company is that from? Talk about presentation! I'd be interested in hearing more about it once you've had chance to put it through its paces.

Just ordered a Streamlight TLR-1 HL for my pistols, perhaps a tad overkill when I could have gone with the clone Surefire X300 but I've been a bit spoilt by the genuine Surefire on my MP5. Fortunately the price I got it for offset my insanity... slightly... On a side note, does anyone know of something to protect the lens? -
@Musica you were simply advertising an unconventional profession as a foot model... You're not responsible for @Tackle trying sneak in a quick sale.
-
Just thought I'd throw a feeler out. Are any of you find upstanding gentlemen with MWS' looking to part with the KAC RIS which it comes with? If so please can you give me a heads up what you'd be looking for. I've ordered my M4A1 and I can't wait for it to arrive. I was originally hesitant to enter the world of GBBR's for a variety of reasons but since ordering I've really been bit by the bug when it comes to researching and tracking down parts for a project. I've already got it fixed in my head what I'm doing with it and can't wait to get it into the field.
-
@Tackle - In my book (as nasty as it may sound) as soon as it leaves the retailer you can immediately knock 20% off the value (the VAT). Another factor as well, and it doesn't necessarily apply to this particular case, is that the private seller doesn't have the same/backing resources that a genuine retailer has. We've all seen it where people stick guns up for retail (or more in some cases) but what they don't seem to realise is that the big advantage of buying new from a retailer is the warranty (and if applicable, returns policy). When it comes to flash hiders there are plenty of examples on eBay for a fraction of the price which this seller is asking for... will they have the correct markings? Not necessarily but it's a cheaper option than a second flash hider and who's to say that the seller didn't mangle the threads? Just for that hint of cynicism.
-
Dropped a message concerning the magazines. I can't wait for my M4A1 to arrive, I just wish I could find all the parts I'm searching for. Some are proving quite elusive.

@clumpyedge they are. I haven't really been interested in BB ones as a lot of those available have seemed to be quite flimsy compared to their BFG counterparts. There's also the added negative of significantly increased reload times but from what I've read and seen this one seems to be durable and reliable. My main thought with picking it up is that I'll use it as a follow up to a BFG when I suspect/know people are/were in the kill vicinity and I didn't gain any kills. Perhaps a foolish notion but I'll see what happens. As an added bonus the alleged effective range on the BB's being fired out is a 10 meter radius. @Druid799 my thoughts exactly. -

In a moment of weakness I decided to order one of the Strataim Nova grenades. I was reading an article on them the other day and decided to take the plunge. -

I'm not sure where this belongs but I don't suppose anyone has a general purpose discount code for either Tactical-kit.co.uk or UKTactical.com? -
@Darkmikey22 - I must admit I'm very jealous of the PKP although I doubt it would be something I'd use. What do you think of it so far? Assuming you've had chance to field it. Regarding your collection of British forces inspired guns, which L85 are you running?
-
@ImTriggerHappy - I can't say I know, or encounter, many who do wear helmets in CQC due to the negatives. I agree that the overwhelming majority wear them for cosmetic appearance but your tone is rather disingenuous. Am I foolish enough to think mine will protect me from a fall, such as that you'd experience on a push bike? Not in the slightest. Do I think that it'll provide that bit of protection to save me a hospital trip in the event I whack my head on a support beam or if someone lobs a TRMR round a corner without looking? Almost certainly. Admittedly this year a rated helmet is on my list of purchases.
-
As far as a helmet for a larger noggin' goes - Airframe this is the best solution I found, short of going for a real lid. @Eddie The Headshot - I wear one for protection, due to medical reasons. I suspect the majority of people wear them for the "tacticool" (I loathe this term) look. @Seven more or less summed it up nicely. On a sidenote at sites which allow TAG rounds and events which allow them I personally think they should be a mandatory requirement. @ImTriggerHappy - As Seven has stated, some is better than none, for me personally I play a lot of CQC and it's more the danger of taking catching my head on a low crawlspace/cut through. I realise that if I want any serious protection I'll need something actually rated for it but for just catching a door frame I've found my current one to be more than sufficient for the task.
