But that's just it! I was running mix and match and it worked perfectly. I swapped to 100% maple leaf and it wasn't compatible! So I can use a Maple Leaf barrel with the fast hop, but I can't use my Maple Leaf barrel with maple leaf hop unit, because it's the wrong spec. It's fucking mental. The number of people who have told me that maple leaf rubbers don't work in the FAST hop is ridiculous. And the number of people who've told me the ML CJ barrel is rubbish too. And yet, for me, it works a treat! I have a mixed pedigree gun and long may it continue 😄

My bucking has been a bit poorly, so decided to swap it out - while I was at it, decided to fit the new (second version) of the maple leaf hop unit. Which is shit. Wasn't compatible with my maple leaf barrel, as there were no grooves for clip. So ditched it and went back to FAST hop unit. Super bucking arrived and I fitted a slightly harder one than usual. I normally run a 50, but thought I' d try a 60. Power has dropped. Range has increased. Approximately 100m (laser range finder to bush at 110m, but BBs were dropping just short). 100% air seal. Because the power was so low (1.85J), I swapped to a more powerful spring (rapax 2+) and the power went up to 2.2J. Not sure on accuracy yet, but will be field testing on Sunday. I used to have the hop set to 4.5 / 5 and had an output of 2.29J. Now with the hop set to 2 and a more powerful spring, I'm getting 2.2J. It's like alchemy!

£400? With a couple of extra mags and a £20 ebay scope? I don't think this will be going anywhere any time soon. At £300, might get some takers. And this: £130 tops. Possibly less because it's been upgraded and you've no idea what sort of job they've done. The DTD is a nice addition though. But they'd probably get more joy selling that separately. For both of these, the outlay is the same as or equal to the new price of the rif, only there's no warranty. But there are some bits you may or may not want.

I’ve got the ML hop unit. I have a maple leaf barrel. It didn’t fit. And I was somewhat fucked off. There is a c clip, which fits into the grooves in the barrel and the hop chamber. without the grooves (which my barrel doesn’t have), it doesn’t fit. So nope, not marketing, sadly. The hop unit looks to be well made (in the second version), but I couldn’t tell you how well it works yet lol.

I run a Diamondback 3.5-10 x50 on mine. Bloody lovely scope, but might feel a little big for the covert?

You can get around that issue now with the new Super/Wonder buckings which no longer have the locating nubs. As far as the PDI - I have no idea. One thing I have learned about the SRS as a platform is that they're not all the same. What might work amazingly well in mine might be total shite as a set up in another one. Sadly the only way to find out is to spend a shit tonne of money on different bits and bobs until you find what's perfect for your rifle. On the plus side, you end up with lots of spares! 😂

I used the 510mm CJ ML VSR barrel and the autobot 50 bucking (VSR/GBB). I had to shave a nub off the bucking and it's a tight fit in the fast hop, but it works a treat. @Immortal No worries - next time you see one, just ask if you can hold it. I've never said no, cos I want people to see what they think. Some people have said it was wank (their exact words lol), others have been neutral, others have tootled off grinning from ear to ear knowing what they're spending their dosh on next. p.s. no idea if you're anywhere near me (N.Yorks), but if you are, you're more than welcome to try it out 😄

The single most frequent comment I get about my SRS is how quiet it is. As far as getting one, the main thing I'll say is - have you got your mitts on one? Because it's a bullpup, it's not to everyone's taste. And the mag changes are a ballache. However, I adore mine. (but I'm a bp fan boy...) As far as upgrades, I had a pdi with rhop, but ditched it in favour of ML CJ and autobot bucking. I currently use the fast hop chamber, which has 100% air seal. I got hold of the ML hop chamber as soon as it was available in NL, but the production run was fucked, so never fitted it. I've just had the replacement unit arrive, but haven't got round to fitting it yet. I'm semi excited about it, as it's designed to work with the barrel/bucking combo I already use. Overall, I love the platform - it's a joy to shoot. And it's virtually indistinguishable from the real thing, which is always a bonus. It's a doddle to work on too, which is most welcome.

Played with the MWS on Sunday and when it worked, it was awesome. However, on two separate occasions (with two different mags), I'd got the drop on someone and the mag gassed out (I'm assuming that's what it was - pulled the trigger and a shit load of gas came out and no BB). It was about 4 degrees where I was playing. So my questions are: Was it because of the temperature? Could it be something else? Does anyone use black gas and if so, at what temperature? I've got an NPAS fitted , so adjusting the power is no problem if black makes it run a bit hot... On another note, I'm going to have a play with the hpa set up on Sunday when it's refilled and see if adjusting the PSI much higher, and the NPAS lower sorts the problem. But I'm really confused - if you try two different sources running at the same PSI, how can they give different FPS/power readings? Cos the gun doesn't know what it's being fed, surely?

If anyone has a clue about HPA and the MWS, please could you pop along and have a look at this: Any advice would be most welcome! (I made a new thread so as not to clutter this one).
