LOL, it's more than that, the 10 year old inside me (shut your filthy mouths😜) will probably say "but I really really neeeed it"
-
Could it be an early acm ?, lack of trades plus the fact it has the lugs which were copied way back from tm & ca.

To be honest, possibly not, after all, generally no one gets pissed off when they see reenactors dressed up in VERY precise & specific regiment kit (those weirdos are proper stitch counters 🥱) as many consider it to be akin to a compliment , I'd definitely feel the need to talk to him, if nothing else but to see if we're brothers from another mother lol. I should point out also that while I'm "entitled" to wear my own regimental insignia, I've never bothered or even considered it, & this brings me to another point regarding what I think is a recent thread I glimpsed somewhere ? The thread title was something like "Airsoft, sport or cosplay ?) I didn't actually read the thread, hence why I'm vague about where or when I saw it, but the title, like many, is kinda clickbait but at the same time self explanatory. My assessment, walts are nothing more than cosplayers with small dicks, whereas I do view my playing of Airsoft as a sport, I've previously played sports semi-professionally, which roughly translates to high level but not much money in it (at the time ?), but it's safe to say I'm pretty competitive, so the game of beating your opponent by hitting him with a BB before he can do the same to you definitely ticks my boxes, plus the military theme is definitely reminiscent of an important part of my earlier life that I enjoyed immensely, so it's a win-win for me😁. Anyway its getting late, I'm flagging & pretty sure im not supposed to derail my own thread, that's you feckers jobs😜

Of course they would, but then they could always wear insignia/berets from another nation, something not so close to home that isn't immediately recognised, 99% certain the problem solved. Today's a good example, I'm emotional as fuck, it's either : A. I'm thinking about good friends passed, as well as everyone one else who stepped forward when others were backing away. Or B. I'm on the blob🤣 End of the day, if someone is determined to emulate specific genuine units, they should be prepared for potential criticism, or worse case, someone taking severe umbrage for the reasons I mentioned earlier, all for a bit of kit that will make absolutely no difference in your playing ability. Similar but hopefully less emotive scenario, my missus is a mad footy fan, completely obsessed with her team since her dad took her to her first game at 3 years old (she then went on to teach footy at secondary school level), I casually support her teams mortal enemies (we're both from North London, work it out😏), but every time she's wanted to put a sticker or other footy paraphernalia in our vehicles, I've said no way, all it takes is some pleb to take offence & scratch the motor or put a window in, its just not worth the aggro is it.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Tackle replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Clearly you need to visit my latest thread to discuss your willpower, or more importantly your lack of it🤣 -
It's not the equipment thats the issue, but cap badges & berets have to be "earned", & some are considerably harder to earn than others. Plus for many of those who have served there is usually an associated pride in your mother regiment, in its history & achievements, as well as the fact that comrades you have served with may have passed, either in the service of their country, or as we're becoming more aware of nowadays, succumbing to their demons due to the things they have witnessed or done in the name of service☹️. While I can't lay claim to heroic actions whilst serving, but many of my comrades did. & then years later, not long after I started airsofting, I witnessed an absolute shitshow of a team, nothing I could say positively about their on site behaviour. Nothing new there you might say, but every one of those twats was wearing (badly) my regimental cap badge & beret, for no other reason than that one of their members had allegedly served in a ta unit & still had backdoor access to some kit cheap😬. I was far from impressed & had to have a word, quite a few actually, some of them you wouldn't repeat to the vicar lol. 🤬 Sorry guys, didn't mean for this to get dark, but it's a genuine consideration that will trigger some players.

Ooooh, careful, very specific loadouts involving regimental insignia/berets etc are a massive bone of contention, in many ways rightly so, especially so called "elite" units such as airborne who hold themselves in exceptional high regard, (even if the rest of us think most of them are twats lol😜). In layman's terms, the "complete" loadout might not be worth the aggro that goes with it 🤔

Bit of background, so in all the years I've been playing, my load carrying kit has always been either solid black or OD, & in both colours I still own numerous rigs & probably 100+ pouches of various brands & styles, I could probably kit out a section with ease. I also own numerous full clothing loadouts, dpm, m81 woodland, OD, black, flecktarn desert, vegetato/tata lol, multicam/mtp, probably more, & have also previously owned flecktarn, wusentarn, choc chop & probably others I've forgotten. Now multicam/mtp I've never been that keen on, only ever bought it initially in 2010 for themed games where camo was used for designating teams, & I've probably only worn it 3 times. But here's the point I've been getting to....... Over on Zin I saw a warrior nemesis rig in mtp come up for £35, I do like warrior kit so I found myself googling a review for the rig & my first click found me directed back here to a necropost from 2014, thanks @TheFull9, & I'm like "Hhmmmmm, that looks good", but then a moment later I'm like "but i rarely wear mtp, & besides, I've got too much shit" So I scroll on 5 minutes later "yeah but it's warrior & they do make nice kit" But then the other voice is like "ffs Mark, you dont wear that camo & you don't need any more feckin kit" & I'm like "yeah but no but" 🤯 Am I the only one ? 🤔 (even looks like me lol)

Great work mate, I bet you look like Predator with your dreads hanging out the back.
-
LOL, I know what you mean, I had to scroll to the top to check what we're actually discussing, but I'll be grumpily honest & admit I'm so feckin tired of spoon feeding noobs answers to the same questions that have been asked a thousand times before, made worse by wannabe trolls that say shite like "if the plod come round, make an official complaint about wasting time" etc. There's a core of members here, you & I included, that literally have hundreds of years of combined experience within Airsoft, add to that our own personal life experiences & skill sets in numerous professional fields, & I'll bet that not one of us has fallen foul of the law due to how we use/behave/own our Airsoft rifs. Why. Because we've been sensible, applied common sense & been aware of the massive responsibilities of "gun" ownership. Yet we're still having to spell it out to new members ffs.

I'm not even sure why we're still entertaining this thread, yes there are laws pertaining to rif use that any of us could easily fall foul of, but every thread that's EVER discussed anything along these lines have all come to the same conclusions : IF YOU WAVE A RIF AROUND ANYWHERE THAT MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC CAN SEE YOU, YOU WILL GET A VISIT FROM THE POLICE. Now irrespective of anyone here's knowledge of the laws, taking the moral high ground because "According to laws XYZ its OK to do this, so it's my right" is bollocks, the plod are obligated to investigate every call they receive regarding potential firearms, even when your in your own back garden or on private land, & there isn't a court in the land that will support you versus the police when in comes to them doing their duties in this matter, whether its them telling you to "don't be a cnut, use some common sense", or the other end of the sliding scale, them shooting you dead. Even if the attending officers are very knowledgeable about Airsoft & are polite when discussing it with you, respond with a smart mouth & you'll find yourself nicked for "causing distress" or public order offences, & your kit grabbed for "assessment", & don't expect to get it back anytime soon. Back on track, if you want to fiddle with your guns in your back garden, let any overlooking neighbours know that their harmless but realistic toys & explain your hobby, maybe even print something out explaining it in more detail, get them on board & understanding. If if you do fire your toys in your garden, set up an appropriate range with a decent backstop to keep any stray bb's within your property boundaries. USE SOME COMMON SENSE ? 😏

I laughed, but I also welled up a wee bit too, seeing as I've not yet been forced to fix mine Yet 🤞😬 (my ducati that is🚜)

-
But do you know why he didn't do that ? 🤔
-
So you won't be buying any more then? 😏🤣

Thanks, I'll be honest I had no idea what mosaicplasty was, thank feck for Google, looks like a very good treatment if the problem is caught early enough, glad to hear you've bounced back so quickly, that's the beauty of many of the newer focal treatments, hence why I picked one for my cancer, which fingers crossed is going well 🤞. But the knees are beyond the focal stuff unfortunately, the right has been on its way since '95, the left more recently, but knowing what I now know I have to wonder whether I'd have had more options considerably sooner if I didn't live in the back of beyond (sort of), & under a health trust that's doing its best to fob people off by not being open about treatment options available. Hindsight is a wonderful thing 😭

Let's not forget, what would the man on the Clapham omnibus think about it all, that's almost as much of a precedent as any set in stone law that anyone here can quote, it's when conjecture & interpretation become just as important when it comes to all things "GNU"., especially once the tabloids get their grubby little mitts on it.
-
Pretty sure your wrong, & even if your not, the last bit definitely fails the "attitude test", which as everyone knows, the plod will always win in the long run, if there isn't a precise law to combat an airsoft related "offence", a loosely fitting one will be made to fit lol. Plus when it comes to Airsoft, we need people on our side, especially the police & other figures of authority, otherwise every negative police report is another nail in the coffin for Airsoft in its current form, not something I want to see change.
-
Me too, BUT If I need my airsoft fix, which is most of the time lol, & the stars align enough to give me a site I want to play on a day I can actually call my own, then irrespective of the forecast (within reason😏), then I'm going & I'll be packing some snivle kit to get me through whatever nature throws at me. That's what I don't get, good example, I signed up for a 72hr non stop a few years back, running in October, so obviously kit requirements need to be considered, & on the first night temps dropped & a bit of intermittent drizzle & people started dropping out with feeble excuses, but ultimately most of them had turned up (& paid handsomely) to play for 72hrs non stop in a t-shirt or ubacs & a rig, no layers to put on if it turned shitty, which considering the time of year its almost guaranteed at some point. That's the shit I don't get, as Tacticalpithhelmet has pointed out, even an old skool poncho is 20 quid & will make a world of difference. It's not exactly rocket science 🤔
-
Ffs, it's just arrived, I thought "great", opened the box, they've only sent the wrong fuckin part🤬
-
It's in Essex, more North of the county, I'm on the most southern side of Kent (I can literally hear the waves on the beach right now, so picking it up isn't an option. To be honest it's not a major part, so to speak, I was just gobsmacked at how slow ups are, doesn't help I've previously worked at FedEx for 10 years in their international division, so getting stuff around the world, often next day, or two at the most, was the norm. Tracking is now saying delivery on the 8th ?, We'll see lol😏🤞
-
Kinda related necropost, so I've been waiting approximately 10 days for an item from Germany, nothing gun or Airsoft related, essentially just a small basic part for a bit of garden kit. After 4 days I chased up the sender for tracking info, & as you can imagine my heart sank when the guy mentioned ups, & sure enough they're slow as fuck, so far it's travelled 669km at an average speed of 4kmh ffs, & just got in to the clearing facility at Stanford-le-Hope, & then I looked at how long it could take to clear there, look at the potential longest time🤯
-
Never understand it, forecast was shit, almost to be expected this time of year, taking in fuel costs etc, people then pay their green fees on top of that, but then give up by lunchtime 😳. I've played in blizzards, torrential rain, you name it, but assuming you've got a reasonable level of kit, it should be a walk in the park, it's not like your gonna be out in it day & night for a few days. I blame all these sugar coated millenials 😜
