  1. I do enjoy this bloke asking for fast food that actually looks like the advert, although I wonder if trying it in Lewisham McD's would get you a face-full of bleach. Anyway, good news, it looks like meat substitutes aren't financially sustainable. Bring me my Soylent Borger!
  2. I'd assumed the Indian Motorcycles model of pulling it out of a crate from Chyna, slapping a "Made In Murca" sticker on it, and putting another 0 on the price. But I didn't want to assert it, and well... Italian engineering.
  3. I've honestly forgotten what it's about, I'm just enjoying the <ackchyually> handbag fight.
  4. It helps when you're magdumping AKs straight up in the air, en masse, which the Austere Religious Scholars apparently use for anti-air defence. Not even trying to aim or lead, just putting as much lead in the air as possible and letting aircraft fly through it. The camera footage in the documentary Apache Warrior confirms how hairy it can get when everybody and their mum has an AK and ammo is cheap and plentiful.
  5. If I wear my hi-vis, there's a fair chance that I might be brought tea and biscuits instead of being arrested.
  6. That... uh... may not be the flex you think it is.
  7. Because he's a narcissistic sociopath. Now round we go, pass Go, and collect 200 subs.
  8. If it gets your PP hard while slinging the same BBs as everyone else, it's the right toy for you. Life's too short for regretting purchases that you didn't make. The one thing I'd mention is that sooner or later you're likely to run into some muppet of a marshal who declares "That's a DMR, mate, you can't use that in CQB, mate, it's way too hot, mate".
  9. Don't be surprised if he's not there on the day, and his marshal team have very different ideas.
  10. Great to hea- Nope, I'm done with giving him the benefit of the X. He's an utter throbber who documents his throbbing. He doesn't deserve any assumption of innocence at this point. If he thinks he can monetise it, he'll do it.
  11. Mmm, I can see Range Officer Walt getting a mushroom-chubby on for beeping you in the ear.
  12. Eh, we're talking minutes. It's a minor annoyance that it doesn't have a 1.5A settings, but 1A will get the job done. And you can charge 1500ish mAh at 2A if you're in a hurry, we're talking margin-of-error levels of risk and degradation. Not functionality that you're likely going to use though. That one always balance charges, and will charge to storage levels, and that's really all you need - I don't even bother with storage charges. It'll be fine for airsoft, if I were buying from new, knowing what I know now, I'd be happy going for it. Oh, one consideration is that it's got an XT-60 or XT-30 connector, so you'll need a converter to the more typical mini-Tamiya (yuk) or Deans used in airsoft. You can wire your airsoft gear to XT, it's just that few people do it.
  13. The SkyRC S65 is a popular choice, but it's actually overkill for airsoft batteries. That M4AC looks fine. Nice simple interface (read the manual though regarding voltage!). I'd like a bit more granularity in the charging current, but unless you're in a real hurry, 1A is going to be OK for most airsoft batteries, and 2A for big ones. [EDIT] Lozart is right that if you're running something really meaty then you might want more than 2.5A, but I never run batteries that big, and in any case, it's not like you're going to need to charge them more than once a week or fortnight anyway, so it wouldn't put me off. I'd always err on the side of under-amping during charging rather than trying to rush it.
  14. I'm vaguely interested, but agree with the travelling-to-shooting time equation not working out, nor the money-for-accuracy that I imagine you'd end up sinking into it. Interesting that the rules require GBBs, I was thinking that a NBB or even (looks around guiltily) an AEP might perform better under those specific close-range circumstances. I guess they're trying to keep it as realistic as possible.
  15. Yup. They're cheap because they make a gojillion of them. My CM.516 starter-M4 has a really nasty toytown plastic body, but the internals are cockroach tough, and it's always in the bag as a last-resort backup. Sure, just about every part is crying out to be upgraded, but every part works, and it puts BBs downrange just fine.
  16. An “airsoft gun” is not to be regarded as a firearm for the purposes of [the Firearms] Act. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1968/27/section/57A Any common sense interpretation would mean that they shouldn't be regarded as firearms for the Highways Act. But if the law operated on common sense, lawyers wouldn't drive Range Rovers.
  17. Ahoy and welcome. I'm not familiar with the sites there, sorry. It's not impossible to get yourself a RIF if you're willing to buy used (same law and defences apply to private sellers, but fewer are bothered about it) or to support the retailers who accept some spurious or bogus defences that you can just pay for. Either way, you're not committing an offence by buying or attempting to buy a RIF. It might be worth renting once first though to check that you're not remembering airsoft with rose-tinted safety glasses.
  18. The Specna Arms Edge 2.0 range is metal and has a decent GATE-ASTER fire control system. They keep dicking around with the branding, and the QC isn't what it ought to be, but - if you can find them in stock - they offer reasonable value for money. G&G sat on their laurels for too long, I wouldn't buy anything now without a QC spring and rotary hop. Of course...
  19. I'd say it's worth trying both. I enjoy woodland too, especially when I'm not in the mood to get battered harder than a haddock.
  20. But only for the purposes of the Firearms Act. I agree that the most common-sensical interpretation of the Highways Act would be to use the Firearms Act definition. However, we've seen both the police and prosecuting authorities get the red mist on regarding airsoft guns, and push on with at least one "hang him, then let the charges be read out!" prosecution that resulted in exculpation only by the grace of God (and the Fiscal's incompetent evidence tampering). I wouldn't want to be a test case, is my point, and would urge being very circumspect with anything that looks remotely like a firearm, on or near any public place, lest the statute book be thrown to see what sticks. Mmm, TAG launchers in particular seem to be getting up towards the upper ~16J limit of airgun energies based on the claimed velocity and mass. And then there's HPA brrrrt-cannons that can shoot over 1.3J with just a nudge of the regulator. Paintballers never imaged they'd fall foul of the law until they did, best let it happen to someone else.
  21. Ahoy and welcome. I prefer CQB too, more intense, less walking around, (generally) drier. Where are you playing?
  22. I've never seen UKARA and Bruce Wayne in the same room together.
