  1. If you're testing it before screwing the buffer tube back on, the spring guide won't be secure and the spring might weeble-wobble a bit.
  2. BBGnuz delivery is free over £50, and you get a 5% discount if you leave it in your basket for a day. If you know what you're after, and why, they're no worse than any other airsoft retailer, and often a fair bit cheaper.
  3. The first time I got an email about one was this year. I had another that expired last year with no email.
  4. No, but the process is the punishment, and the sooner you can end that process by saying "It's OK, I've got a loicence" the better. Remember, this bloke only escaped a patently bogus conviction for posting a video of his toys because the prosecution got caught tampering with the evidence.
  5. More likely eBay spotted Assault Style Toys being sold.
  6. Is the MR a batter match with the XT barrels? I ask because had good results with both on a variety of barrels, and would I'd happily recommend either - I'm just wondering why one would be preferred over the other.
  7. Another vote for XT barrels (6.02mm by default) and Maple Leaf hop rubbers and nubs (60 degree, yellow). Outdoors, I run 0.28g, or 0.32g, depending on what's in the bag. Replacing the barrel, bucking and nub on an M4 is a quick, simple job, I'd never pay anyone to do it. For one thing, if they put it in wrong (it's possible to get them slightly skewed), you'll have to re-do it yourself anyway. YouTube is replete with how-to guides.
  8. Right, that does it. Put your head up to the screen. [Super hard stare]
  9. I'm pretty sure I recall wanting to put a brick through that gurning geezer face previously.
  10. This is why I take my chrono to site to compare it to the site readings.
  11. Outstanding, that magnetic attachment looks like a great idea. Much better than my DIY fan goggles solutions where I just shove the tube in a hole cut in the side. Oh, even better, the Ex-Fog couplers can be bought separately, for anyone wanting to bodge up their own system. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/exfog-universal-magnetic-goggle-adapters-set-of-2
  12. I reckon your asking price of £325 is reasonable. They're great guns, my concern would be that you may have gilded the lily a bit - but then you're still asking less than retail for the base gun. If you don't get offers (or the usual lowballs) it might be down to the new Sport/Lite versions eating into demand, there's not much you can do about that except wait for the right buyer.
  13. Two lies in the advert - "rare now", "300 fps". Should there be some sort of sanction for trying to rip off buyers?
  14. That would explain needing it gone.
  15. Ahoy and welcome to AFUK. As above, barrel and bucking is the best bang per buck.
  16. Obliterated, available on Netflix. The premise: a super-special-spy-forces team catches a badman with a suitcase nuke in Las Vegas, goes partying to celebrate, then are suddenly called back on duty when it turns out the real snuke is still out there. The execution: balls-and-cocks-and-boobs to the wall gloriously unapologetic drink-and-drug fuelled amoral uncensored scatological fun that has a great time playing with the genre tropes and character archetypes, edging fnar on parody. I mean, main guy is called "Chad McNight", and their inexperienced Tech Girl is "Maya Lerner". I put off watching this for ages because it looked so dumb that I assumed I'd hate it, but it turns out that "Don't think about it, just crack open a beer or four and enjoy it with us" is the whole point. Does it make sense? Not a bit. Is it funny? Eh, sort of. Can the cast act? Just barely, but wow, they're committed to it, and easy on the eye. Is the gunplay or fighting realistic in any way? Oh, no, not at all. But if sub-plots like "We need to find some hookers, because they'll have meth to wake up Bomb Guy from a ketamine coma" appeals, fill your boobs. I mean, boots.
  17. Unless you're doing a milsim or playing at a site that has multi-hour games, then I think a camelback is overkill for airsoft. If you're going to drink that weight of water, put it inside you before each game, rather than hauling around extra weight (and insulation). I say this as the owner of a camelback that I used once for a filmsim, and never again.
  18. Ohhhh no we haven't. The law is an ass. Spot the firearm, the firearm-but-different, and the not-a-firearm-but-only-for-the-purpose-of-the-firearms-act firearm here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a used air-gun sale (outside of Scotchland) is not covered by statute or regulation, right? So you could bump the power up to airgun levels and sell without a defence? 2.5J single/semi = airsoft RIF, offence to sell 2.6J single/semi = air-gun, age restricted only (But of course 1.31J auto = machine gun) Make it make sense.
  19. Empirical anecdote, I had an expiry email this year from UKARA for a site that I hadn't attended since mid 2022. Hmm, thinking about it, It's possible that the site renewed the membership / UKARA number in 2023 because I'd played in 2022. 🤔 It's all rather opaque and difficult to get a firm answer, especially given that it's our data.
  20. UKARA is just a central register of site memberships. So, yes, you have to play at the site which registered you. Did you get an email about it expiring? From what I've seen, it's been bumped to a 2 year duration now. Oh, never mind, I think I'm seeing: played mid 2022 -> site renewed my membership early 2023 -> expired early 2024.
  21. Barrel length doesn't make that much difference, 250mm is more than sufficient for an AEG. Most M4s and many SMGs will have a 14mm CCW threaded flash hider that you can replace with a tracer. Yes, Nuprol is just a rebrander, and both Raven and Vorsk are sub-brands of Nuprol - best to be avoided. Specna Arms are fine, but if that's your budget I'd push it a little higher to get one of the EDGE 2.0 models with a very decent fire control system. Another decent choice around the £200 mark are the Double Eagle M9xx guns with the Falcon fire control system.
  22. So, do you lose your minicab licence on the sixth-seventh conviction?
  23. Generally 60-70% of retail (based on the lowest current retail price) for the gun, if you want to shift it. Parts and accessories, you're lucky to recoup half the price. One thing: while the G&Gs are decently made and a known quantity, their spec is way behind current basic guns from (e.g.) Specna Arms and the prices have gone through the roof, so you might find yourself getting lowball offers.
  24. " these pellets are sure to give you the edge you need to come out on top" I mean, once you're the only player left with working eyesight, you can just walk into the objective.
  25. On an M4 you can just split the receiver and (assuming a ported cylinder) give it a cycle and observe that the piston and nozzle are both forwards, with some play in the nozzle.
