Burst mode, trigger sensitivity and binary trigger. The Aster in the EDGE 2.0 offers more, it's a solid choice.

Better than playing with yourself. I've not been there for a while but am trying to get back into it as time and fitness allow. I'll generally be in that, or DPM 95 and a TAC-41 (or a tan G36C (or a DMR'd grey Specna SA-02 (or a cut down tan CYMA M516 (or...)))).

I don't know for sure, but I'd like to find out. I've noted before that 5.95mm of pure ABS would mass about 0.11g and PLA would be about 0.2g, so everything above that needs adulterated with some sort of mineral, whether that's metal or ceramic. I've seen barium phosphate suggested, or compressed talc. Some BBs contain magnetic metal, presumably iron.

The Double Eagle M9xx range with the Falcon fire control system gets a lot of love. Depending on your budget, they come in metal or polymer. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft-m4-ar15-m16-variant-assault-rifles?*brand=61

Definitely worth a try. It's a compact site, like a woodland CQB, with loads of buildwork and you're rarely more than a few steps from cover. Good access road, parking and safe zone. Actual real toilets and a shop with a bell and all sorts.

Sounds like a 1980s haircut and/or band. What's the mechanism in those? Me, not so much made as slightly tarted. From this gopping abomination... ... to this gopping abomination. Needs more greeblies, weathering and maybe a chonky barrel - although I actually quite like the stubby look, and every gram saved on these is welcome.

What do you do when you can’t find a max tracer unit for your hop?
Rogerborg replied to simonh's topic in General Discussion
Oh, nice one. I've tracered up a couple of peasant hop units, but just with LEDs inset into them and a single resistor inline in the wiring, nothing that fancy. Is that 2 LEDs per side? -
After quite the hiatus, I stopped making excuses and got out there again to die for the Emperor at Area 66 yesterday, with my freshly painted and sanctified XR-5 doing lasgun duties. Looks great, shoots like an under-hopped, under-powered, over-weight piece of junk that required wild bursts of fire to hit anything. So, a pretty good facsimile then. Fun was had in the heat, but it was strictly a walking day. I binned off the costume and junk-gun at lunch and went out TAC-41 sniping in the afternoon with much more success. The out-of-the-box-plus-a-spring performance of those things is great, but I'd make a rubbish sniper - far too much chuckling and "Git rekt, scrub!" from the bushes. It was a decent day despite a big stag-do party being there, they were split up and generally played OK. Not enough marshals, but fortunately not much need for them. One interesting thing they did was to tag guns with a cable-tie, but not trim it until walk-on for the first game, which is a commendable attempt to catch chrono-dodgers and make pre-game chrono a bit more meaningful.

The 'What have you just bought' Thread

Mmm, that "1.3J" turned out to be more like 1.6J, using ASG green and 0.2g. 🌶️ Fortunately, it's just a matter of filing the firing pin down, which should also help with the gas efficiency. Which reminds me, I'd better sling a file in the toolbag for tomorrow in case it spices up again with heavier BBs. -

I'm treating it as a cosmetic shell, really, and have a more or less spare CYMA gearbox ready to go in. This weekend will be a torture test to see what survives, although I may spooge some lube up the motor-hole fnar anyway. -

Yes, I knowingly bought them, on purpose and everything! Who presumably said "Never again!". They're sods to work on, it's gearbox-out just to get the hop and barrel out, with a bench full of screws and push pins, all different hex sizes. I'm going to run it cosmetically pimped but mechanically stock this weekend just for the chuckles, then see about sorting whatever doesn't survive or function. They really do have plastic bushings, and I've never seen such thin wiring. -

The plan is to use it as the basis of something more theatrical, but it'll need calmed down as it's a bit spicy. On the other hand, the mags are feeble and it's struggling to get 20 shots from a fill even though it's NBB. Still, I'm sure I'll spend more on something worse at some point... Them's proper righteous. -

Hello airsoft friends! Are these good RIFs to buy to win at airsoftwars battle maps? The pistol has 1.3 jewels, just like a watch, and the advanced future riflegun has pure polymer bushings in its bearings so should run very smoothelely! -
Potential liar/scammer idk but be careful
Rogerborg replied to ShirtLessScottishGuy's topic in General Discussion
I suspect he's legit, just a bit optimistic. But swaps are always super-duper sketchy, so best avoided unless you like sending off real items in return for nothing more than a promise from a stranger with nothing to back it up. -
This is the correct section for an advert: https://airsoft-forums.uk/classifieds/category/4-electric-rifles/ Since it's currently in appraisals, I'll chime in by suggesting that if it doesn't come with the drum mag that you don't show it on the advert, as it's somewhat of a bait and switch. Also, it's considered good form to write your forum name and the date on a piece of paper and photograph that with whatever you're selling to help to alleviate the suspicion that you're just using a stock photo. It's also helpful to clarify whether you're willing to post, and if so whether the price is inclusive of postage and PayPay goods and services fees. If you're not willing to accept PayPal G&S please say so up front - but you'll find it much harder to shift. The price is... optimistic. It's £320 new, and used prices are generally 60-70% of new. Being two toned generally reduces the value (because of the risk of it showing through) and the extras don't add a huge amount. You can of course ask what you like, and you might find a buyer, but everybody wants a bargain so I'd expect to receive significantly lower offers, especially if it's collection only or you're going to add on postage and fees. Best of luck.

Yarp, it's a £40 unhopped 0.6J NBB. The best you can say is that magazines seem to be available, and it's (probably) gas efficient.

Agreed, and it can go heavy on the film and light on the sim. I really enjoyed a Narcos themed filmsim that I did a few years back. You had a camo-and-ARs Federales side for Sergeant Serious, and a Hawaiian-shirts-and-AKs Cartel side for LARPing larks. But it was a well run two-day event with defined objectives and a scoring system (for those who cared) that added a lot more depth than a regular skirmish. Well worth a try.

A smear of silicon grease can do wonders there. 1.3J from an M100 and a stock (but stretched-and-greased) CYMA gearbox and nozzle. Yes, quivering on the edge of a Section 5. The difference between nearly sealed and really sealed is remarkable.

If you can find someone who wants them and values them. The more you fUlLy CuStOmIsE a gun, the smaller you're making your market.

Need, maybe not, but I'd always choose higher C (and higher capacity) over lower. Although with the caveat that anyone can claim anything, and very rarely have it tested. Hmm, I might suggest airsoft batteries to to ProjectFarm... 🤔

The cheapest, toyish plastic CYMA + a bunch of free gifts. Might as well be titled "Buyer's Regret Starter Pack".

AEG firing on full auto when selector set to semi..
Rogerborg replied to Les's topic in Electric Guns
Ahoy and welcome. As above, it's either the cut-off switch not cutting off, or the trigger contacts being too close. In either case, it's a case of taking the gearbox apart to find out. This is quite time consuming and intimidating the first time you do it, but there's nothing particularly hard about it, and there are loads of decent disassembly videos on YouTube that can help. -
The counterpoint being that filing a bit off of the fire selector does nothing to prevent trigger spam. I honestly don't think there is a way to keep them honest in-game.
