EDcase got a reaction from Tactical Pith Helmet in Going to be a bit quiet on the forum for a time. Had a motorcycle crash at Brands Hat
Thanks all for your thoughts.
I'm in Kings College hospital in London. Mending slowly but its going to be several months to see any significant change. I'm encouraged by the similar (but worse) experience Bear Grylls had when he broke his back in a parachute accident. He climbed Mt Everest a year later. Just walking will be enough for me 😁
Cheers,
ED

£12k isn't too bad. I only trecked to Base Camp; that was enough.

And they have put up the fee to climb it. It's now £12000. 😯

You'll get there! However, I wouldn't recommend Everest; it is bloody huge!

Get on the mend soon fella. Damn frightening when your back goes, but I've even seen a relative have an entire vertebra replaced with polymer. Thank God for modern medicine (and mates who'll bring a few cans in )!

I'm Dartford way. Drive past "doom valley" on my way to and from work. 😁👍

Damn. Shat myself in a car let alone on a KTM. Are you in Darent valley hospital? If you are, let me know if you need anything, I'm local ok? 👍

Thanks all.
Yes full one-piece race leathers and extra back protector (I wasn't racing) With ACU rated helmet.
Went wide on Paddock Hill bend and made controlled entry into the gravel at about 50-60mph. Gravel caught the bike (KTM RC8) and it stopped while I kept going. Bike reportedly fine, not even broken farings. I landed on my face, visor shattered and cut my face luckily missing my eyes. But the big problem is I shattered vertebrae T9. I had successful surgery to fuse 5 verts together but currently still can't feel or move below that point. (belly button)
So now waiting to get some sign of improvement 🤞
