  1. fun project. Picked up a worn PTS Masada AKM from Strykerles with a few known issues. Originally it looked like this: I stripped it completely down, removed all the old paint and replaced the micro switch in the gearbox which was goosed. Cerakoted the upper receiver with Magpul flat dark earth, put in a new front sight and replaced a few other bits. Turned out pretty good.
  2. it might be a red herring. Have you tried a different chrono as the chrono you are using might not be the best for accurate FPS readings in full auto.
  3. The STAR/ARES SLR? I have both and both have done thousands of BB's over the years without a glitch. I've even fitted the full auto selector to one and again it's been bombproof. The company has a bit of a bad rep but outside people looking for youtube likes they aren't that bad. No better or worse that the bulk of AEG's. I have the King Arms Para FAL and it's no better or worse than the Ares apart from you are unlikely to get an external part from King Arms if it falls off and you loose it as their support game is weak.
  4. I don't think it will be lasers, too big, bulky and power hungry to be useful. Drones only need the shittest component on the board to fail for it to fall out the sky. A powerful enough signal could burnout a capacitor or resistor making the drone useless. The downside is anything else within range would suffer the same but I'd rather my radio popped than the AFV I'm in popping. It shouldn't take too long for a change in drone warfare due to the evolution in the drone world currently being 8 weeks. Every 8 weeks there is a branch on the evolution tree, good or bad and within 8 weeks another change.
  5. Don't disagree however knowing the guys shooting at you have 200 meters on your effective range will affect morale, tactics and my even finish a battle before it starts.
  6. The last 2 US service rifles didn't do too well out the block. The M14 being so bad it got binned quite quickly whereas the M16 went on to one of the best weapon platforms out there. The M7 will mostly likely be adapted however unlike the previous 2 it's not just a replacement weapon. You have integrated optics, 3 bullet variations with the high powered version able to penetrate level 3a/4 at 800 yards and it's suppressed to reduce the noise signature making it harder to pin point your fire position. The next war being planned is most likely China who's troops will be armed with body armour. The previous conflicts using 556 proved that 556 just annoys the bad guys when they are high on drugs, plus they fired from stand off positions making the 556 ineffective at range. The M7 with the high powered cartridge will overcome the body armour and lethality at ranges unseen on a modern general issue weapon. On the topic of drones this problem will likely be solved during the Ukraine war. At a guess using electronic counter measures and the drones greatest strength is also it's biggest weakness. The ability to see your target and drive straight into it has been a game changer over traditional artillery (and the Ukrainians use the drone because they have limited artillery shells) however if you stop a drone from seeing then it's just another artillery shell. Once someone figures out how to blind a drone the threat will be reduced. If you think that this doesn't apply to fibre drone then I'm talking about the camera on the drone itself not the drone feedback to the operator and with the drone blind AI would be useless as well apart from predictive targeting based on the last known image Going back to the M7 and the 6.8mm round this will probably become the new NATO round simply because the US dictate which round is the NATO round. The fact that the British are looking to replace the SA80 with something in the 6.5 or 6.5 calibre suggests that moves are afoot to make the 6.8 the new NATO round. The 6.5 is probably a red herring (a bit like the EM1, good idea but shelved because the US wanted 7.62). I hope we don't try to make something ourselves as we have lost that skill and the skill fade is even bigger since we designed the SA80. It's probably best to go to someone who knows what they are doing (HK, SIG, LMT, etc) and just license build them in the UK.
  7. Hopefully Well Pro do their normal and do a GBB and AEG version. Be nice to have a AEG version for us normal folks
  8. easy check is to hold the bolt release down and see if it happens. if it doesn't happen then there is a problem with the bolt release/spring/3 parts that are attached to the outside of the gearbox and the little spring that makes these parts move. It's also worth trying different mags as this can cause the issue as the little bolt release lever on the mag can sometimes play up and trip the stop feature.
  9. Anyone actually got a Viva Arms product? Just asking as they have been vaporware in the past (like 20 years ago) not sure if they took money back then but they promised all the cool guns being shown above and nothing ever got made.
  10. I was at Overlord on Sunday. Bought a couple of real Surefire M600's for £55 a pop. Also got a RS MP5 torch handguard for £35 quid and found what might be a bit of gold unicorn pooh in the shape of a MP5K handguard with a Magnalite attached. The mount was made by a company 20 miles from Hereford and the torch had some issue Duracells inside. I've never seen a picture of one and it's either probably a trials piece or a one off custom job for a job. I'll post a picture when the forum lets me. Now with a picture.
  11. get an error 200 trying to upload photos and when I click on any of the links to the forum I get an error. tried logging in and out but still a problem. Anyone else having issues?
  12. The retail price in Japan is going to be £129 for the G19 and the P320. I wonder if we will see the first £200 TM pistols when they get to the UK retailers.
  13. probably not very exciting for most folks but managed to find 6 brand new MAG 100 round midcaps for the TM Sig. These are like unicorn pooh nowadays and found them on Evike USA which involved the usual UPS/Customs/general fuckery to get them delivered.
  14. wires have come off the motor at a guess
  15. well that G19 is going to be mental if the kick on the g17 is anything to go by. Oh and hasn't that 320 been in development for about 5 years? Not complaining, just amazed at TM's development times sometimes.
  16. At a stage where I'm happy to share the progress on this. China Lake 40mm grenade launcher. It will be a 3+1 40mm pump action grenade launcher. Externals are pretty much done and just waiting on some parts to make progress on the internals. All 3D printed in a mixture of ABS, PLA and Wood filament. There are a couple of parts that I'm going to CNC in metal (looking at you pump arms) but the 3D printed ones will be good enough for testing.
  17. yes, the rear of the upper receiver can crack due to the bolt hammering it over time. Get a sling mount to reinforce the area. https://www.skirmshop.co.uk/mp7-sling-swivel-end-for-tm-mp7a1.html The mags can leak eventually and I've had to rebuild 8 so far by removing the bottom and sealing with silicon. If you go for a MP7 style silencer try before you buy as I've had issues with some silencers smashing the BB's because of alignment.
  18. It's probably fine to be honest. Clean the inner barrel and stick a battery on it and it will probably work fine. If the spring has been compressed for all that time then it might have lost a bit of FPS but only one way to check. TM stuff is normally pretty good with age, even the rubbers on the hop and piston. Only thing to be a bit wary of is that the pot metal used in a lot of airsoft AEG's don't age well and can become brittle. On the AK this will be the parts on the gearbox for the fire selector. Thankfully you can buy replacements if it decided to fall apart.
  19. seems straight forward enough. Only question is about the rounded part, is this for a bipod? Probably better with the metal version if so.
  20. I tested the Strike EMP today and was getting 220 FPS with a .25. range was a good 40-45 meters which was surprising. For the mini glock I have normal mag and 2 extended mags and all 3 mags mag dump without problem. Mine is the early VFC version that came inside a bible without any indication it was a VFC. The P365 is meh to be honest and even though it CO2 it really needs a hop. It's on my list of things to figure out.
  21. initial thought would be about 25 quid posted. Probably need to be ABS with very little infill to get max strength. What is it and what will be hanging off it?
  22. stupid small pistols being so much fun to use, making me buy so many.
  23. Not enough Sig 55X rifles in this thread. Top - TM Sig 552 with Hurricane metal body and a Titan inside Middle - TM Sig 553+ Bottom - GHK 552 with 3 round burst.
  24. looks like the promised TM price increases have been announced in Japan. An MWS will cost £105 more from June. I'd imagine UK retailers will add another 50% on top of that so expect an MWS to cost around £150more when bought new.
