  1. I'm a bit confused - are you saying that before you've loaded the fresh magazine you're knocking the catch? Because with an empty magazine loaded the bolt release catch should just bounce back - it will only depress and stay in its flat position with either no magazine or a loaded magazine inserted in the weapon.

  2. I lucked out with my case - £50 from someone who was just about to put it in a skip...

Glad I've got it though, makes it easy to carry my rifles and I can sling it in the boot of the car without worrying. Plus it has doubled up as a nice table on events!

  3. Good day at Gunman Tuddenham today for a filmsim game. Started off a bit wet and windy but warmed up for the second half of the day.

Got a chance to use my new MP7 and Ferro Concepts Slickster. The MP7 was great fun, but I'll be sticking with NGRS for now at least. The Slickster on the other hand will be staying in the collection - I've not always been a fan of plate carriers but it easily retained 4 magazines plus a speed loader and radio, fitted nicely and will be well complemented by a decent belt set up.

Gameplay was standard, a few instances where people claimed that dead players were spotting for those who hadn't been hit - and one poor show of a player swearing about the game (because they weren't winning/didn't appear to understand it), and then refusing to engage with the marshal who was trying to understand their frustrations 🤷🏼‍♀️... Otherwise a good day with some amazing shots and attacks through the woodland.

Might be the last Airsoft day for a while due to holidays but looking forward to the next one already.

  4. When me and my brother first started Airsoft I bought a Classic Army M4, and he had a G&G. My rifle would only feed from Classic Army magazines, and his G&G.. and a single Nuprol PMAG.

I think it's really hit and miss as I know other people have said their rifles will feed from any magazine! So I'd say buy a few different types and see what feeds best.

Failing that buy a TM Recoil and never look back .. 😂

I actually found Wolf fairly well priced. I've been "going" there almost 20 years - and every time the staff have been useful

I’ve bought quite a bit in there since I started, and actually my most recent TM recoil buy was in there as it was the best priced at the time.

Never had an issue with the staff but appreciate others have - maybe it depends which day you go in!

  6. Purchased a Snugpak Jungle Blanket for chilly Airsoft events and hill walking where a sleeping bag would be a bit much. It’s basically a big square of sleeping bag material with a weather resistant side.
All for the very reasonable sum of sub £30, and stuffs down into a small compression sack. My plan will be to keep it in the bottom of my day sack or patrol pack.
I’ve yet to use it at an event but I have tested it on a night shift at work and can confirm it was warm and big enough to cover me.

(Not my photo as it’s currently in my work bag 😂)

  7. I've owned both a para and full-stock versions of the M249. Personally I'd lean towards a para just because it's that little bit easier to move around with.

That said, if you only play at a big open woodland site, have at it with the full stock! :)

  8. A very busy and stressful time at work sent me looking for retail therapy, so decided to venture back into the realms of a plate carrier for CQB and games where I don't need to carry as much kit.

Picked up a Ferro Slickster and triple 5.56 insert, arrived the next day and really happy with it. It seems comfortable and light, and should be exactly what I'm after :) Pics to follow once I've had a chance to try it out.
