  1. This is an airsoft forum.  Not a forum for airguns. They are not compatible.

Well the issue is not of individuals doing wrong - it's the air gun sellers/retailers not doing their bit to formally agree a process of selling that at least does a little bit to make sure that not anyone above the age of 18 can walk into a shop and buy one - right now, they don't. In fact, you can order one to your door - as you know - and have someone hand it over to you provided you show some ID usually. Paintball is - to a lesser extent - guilty of this too with some of their 'realistic' looking markers and even airsoft isn't 100% foolproof but if one cocks up then they'll likely all be banned.

So like you say, if you're not doing anything wrong then fine, but AFUK is one of the top 3 most popular UK airsoft forums and is (at least if you're searching for one) the most prominent and lurked by a lot of people. If there is research being done on how to best govern RIF distribution in the UK, then airsoft really can't be seen to associate with air guns in their current state. Basically anything to avoid tarring by the same brush is the idea here but then there is of course the fact that this is an airsoft forum and there are planet of air gun forums out there already :)

Yeah some airgun shops now delivery to the door but its only a small percentage of them to be honest, both of my local gun shop for example would not do it, and would 100% not sell to anyone without photographic ID proving age and form of prove of name and address, in fact ive seen them turn people away just for looking a bit shady lol..dont blame them either..

Personally i dont think people should be able to buy blank guns, two tone or otherwise, but thats another topic all together..

but as you know mate, we dont make the rules we just have to follow them and accept the hand we are dealt..

There are definitely plenty of airgun forums out there, i belong to a few and i am a mod and help run one of them. Your right about this forum too, although i have only been here a very sort time, i can see its a great place, im a member of a few but to be honest this one has the best layout and features i have seen, and a nice bunch of people to by the looks of it. This conversation alone proves that, its nice to be able to talk and get other people views without having a slanging match like you get on some other places no matter the topic..

Well lets knock this on the head then, no more talk of airguns etc, we will keep it for what this forum is great for 'Airsoft' i have already spoken to a few nice people on here and i look forward to doing that more and contributing to the forum also..

Happy Shooting and All The Best, Marc.. :)

Proving age and address is absolutely not a check of a 'valid defence' though, and that's the problem unfortunately.
