Constantly playing games and having people ask me why I'm not shooting the enemy they've spotted when they've rolled right up to the enemy tank for a point blank show down.
As a result have started ripping apart my own team mates as well as the enemy.
Thanks guys
To polish the ejection port cover I raided my wife's nail stuff! She has these cuboid nail files with four different surfaces on them. File, buff, smooth and shine. They work great for all sorts of stuff!
I think I am going to repaint the grips before I varnish them. I want them a bit lighter I think. I just painted those with back, dark umber, and crimson acrylic paints. A coat of burnt umber or even an ochre should do the job
Just finished my TM Sopmod Magpul MOE grip and trigger guard, Magpul XTM Handstop, Troy sights, Vortex RS Strikefire sight, Madbull 11" VTACS Battle rail, Laylax hard buffer ring, Magpul ASAP and Magpul ACS stock modded to fit the 7.4v Nunchuck LiPo batteries in.
If you mix your lighter paints with varnish you can build up layers of semi-transparent colour which will look more like the patina of real wood. Good idea to practice on something else 1st.
Interesting technique for polishing it, I'll keep that in mind the next time I try polishing something.
As for the wood - you could try painting it a light colour (something off-white, like buff titanium), then using a very dark wood varnish to give it a wooden colour. Although it'd probably be best to practice it on something non-important first.
Very nicely done ARN, what technique did you use to polish it up? Nice job on the wood effect as well, should look lovely when varnished.
And IRRC, that part is called the chamber - at least, that's what its called by SIG anyway.
I agree too, but if its not much of a difference I prefer to buy from a shop. Firstly to support UK Businesses and secondly all the shiney shiney stuff they have on the walls !
