I sometimes use whatsapp - the groups im in tend to be more product/brand specific so its a bit less chit-chatty, but not super strict. I rarely use discord as i feel like an old man with all the kids using brain-rot lingo. I use reddit but avoid airsoft stuff there as the mods are power-hungry and often wrong. I also had an argument with a couple of people on there about TM AK NGRS mag compatibility (to stop OP spending about £200 on incorrect mags). They didn't listen to me saying it, didn't listen to the TM website/retailer website saying they're not compatible. OP did listen to me when i showed a video of it not working, and some people said i was still wrong because their Specna AK could do it.

Some WhatsApp chats were insufferable. It wasn't just the slurs, it's the memes lampooning those with disabilities and other shock jock behaviour. I didn't ask for that shit on my phone. I have a dark, childish and often distasteful sense of humour but there's a time and place. The worst is where you find 100+ unread messages and you'd be lucky to find 5% of them to actually discuss airsoft. I do appreciate that some chats have somewhat strict rules to keep the discussion to sales and tech/equipment advice only and use the dedicated chat if they want to dick about.

Can, but choose not to There is either no legal requirement (unless the VCRA gets applied with no listed paintball defence) So for just an average random they can buy from a UKPSF member retailer for an extra £5, or go to a non UKPSF retailer If a ‘proper’ player, interested in being a member then it can be £15 for 5 years (Optionally if you can find it then pay a paintballers business to turn your digital card into a pretty metal card - or do as I do now and pay a few hundred ££ for my own sublimation setup and make my own - in a few decades that will work out cheaper) For a little subliminal advertising, the original UKPSF one man band provided player membership with public liability & injury insurance, with the membership fee going to the premiums. My original membership came as ‘free’ with a magazine subscription, so I was a member and insured for free. (The insurance wasn’t really worth anything for me as my employment sickness benefits were better, plus my other life/injury/sports insurance, so I would not qualify for anything but causing someone else’s injury) At a later date they added a free uninsured membership - basically to push up member numbers , so for a couple of years I did that. Numbers did go up, but didn’t really count to anything (such as Sport England recognition - on the list for decades, still not formal, but with the new-ish committee getting traction did get accepted for the Covid reopening - which then boosted numbers due to people seeing an outcome The free membership was scrapped for the current £5 1 year / £15 5 year - and insurance dropped, with fees now going to the UKPSF (no longer a one man band as he retired and handed the reigns over to a committee , which has gained traction) End of pointless advert of paintball membership to an audience of airsofters disguised as a history

This doesn't so much annoy me but puzzles me. People who post personally identifiable information such as phone numbers or postcode of where they live. Is online security not a thing anymore?

Some Discords and WhatsApps I've peeked in feel like back in middle school, when boys tried to outdo each other on slur count per sentence for brownie points. Absolute lack of patter. Plus just not actually having any knowledge to share.

Since I got into the business of playing Airsoft about 18 months ago I have always used Geoff's BB's as general internet consensus was that they are decent. Usually I buy the Bio "super natural precision" in 0.3 but wondered if anyone can tell me the difference between the "super" and normal "natural precision" BB's. Is there any noticeable difference? same question goes for the non-bio ones too. I've googled about but I haven't been able to find anything, hence my post. Cheers!

Man, I still regularly visit the forums after all these years. Started off on it, went off for a while, and now still coming back. The quality and pace of discussions here is still much higher than the skibidi-rizz-adhd-gooner-mogging talk everywhere else. Discord is a decent place to chat about airsoft too but you have to be more selective and in the know-how on where to go because, being the real-time chat service it is, there are quite the few special folk of all sorts that don't think before they speak.

"Permitted activities", of which only airsoft skirmishing is listed. And we could lose that at the stroke of a pen, as it's not even regulatory, let alone statutory. Uh... so, they can't sell to you under any circumstances other than by adding £5 to the price? 🤨
-
..and that's the trick. Curating enough content you DO like so that the other stuff is relevant not just utter rubbish.

Where it all started 30 years ago & where it restarted 3 years ago... All my first AEG's in the 90's were springers except the Famas.

This needs a swoopy scope mount.

Spoken with site admin. Apparently Google suspended the email again, and it could take a few more days to sort out the issue.

I dont think mine has any spade connectors at all tbh, ill get some photos and videos after work and post them on here

I sometimes wonder if I'm on the 'tism' scale then I see things like this, then think... Nah, I'm ok. Not a pisstake... it's a serious comment.

@ruskitsellerhit the nail right on the head about the supposed death of forums ….. often cited that social media trumps forums, in the ignorance of what social media is and how long it has been around. Social media is suggested as beginning in the late 90s and taking off in the 2000s, but was preceded by 70s chat groups & bulletin boards A forum is a place for discussion, and internet forum software provides hosts with the ability to structure them They have evolved over time with numerous features beyond their origins, but remain as structured places Social media such as Reddit may be just a bulletin board system of today, Facebook is the current flavour of systems such as MySpace, these go in waves based on the population of those environments as a generation moves on and doesn’t want their day to day social media to be fully connected to their great aunt As these forms of social media lack a clear structure there sometimes becomes a misconception that the past is the past and has gone away, until a reminder of your night of debauchery a decade ago flags up in ‘memories’, which you can choose not to reshare - or even worse your friend shares their ‘memories’ involving you - it’s fine for a chat over old times, less so when you are now management and it flashes over your profile Forums do die, but they are the place that keeps getting visited, and I do like it when someone comes up on a forum to tell the community that forums are dead so come over to my new forum

Dunno if this will help but here is what's in my stock... there's a couple of spade connectors in the stock so fitting a mosfet should be easy enough.

I heard somewhere (I think it was on a podcast so take it with a pinch of salt) that social media algorithms deliberately only give you content it thinks you want about 30% of the time. This is because if it only gave you content you're interested in most people would get bored quicker, whereas drip feeding relevant content causes a little buzz and dopamine hit when something relevant or interesting pops up. This causes users to mindlessly doomscroll for longer
-
It would probably need to be opened up to see what the issue is. You can post photos and videos here. Then we can all try to help you.
-
-
Don't suppose you'd know how to solve the etu issue would you? Or if you have WhatsApp if can send you some photos/videos over and see if it is that thats causing it?
-
I genuinely never thought to do that! 🤦🏻♂️ I’ll give that a bash 👍 That would certainly help narrow things down
