Airsoft sites assume a certain amount of knowledge (although they shouldn't). Anything capable of over 1.3J (with any ammo, not just what you choose to use) must be single shot, as a matter of law, not site rules. Over 1.3J and auto is (legally speaking) a Section 5 firearm, not an airsoft gun, and notionally has the same penalty as being caught with a real firearm. If you want a DMR (over 1.3J by law, or over the 1.13-1.2J site limit for AEGs , it must be limited to single shot in some way - it's up to sites to decide what methods they'll accept.

Best out of the Box Rifle (Beginner here)
Rogerborg replied to ahtiq's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Ahoy and welcome. "Best" in airsoft is a loaded question. Best for what? CQB? Woodland? Best effective range? Best reliability? Best semi auto trigger response? Best rate of fire? Best satisfaction per trigger pull (GBB or EBB)? Have you played at all? What did you like or not like about the guns that you've already used? All that said, you've listed decent choices, there's no reason not to get them. -

Night games with tracers are so much fun, just streams of them raining down. Really makes me want an M249 for the huge ammo capacity. 😂

Hello there, I wanted to kindly ask if it's a reliable platform. I'd love to go for it, but I'd like to straightforward know if there's still we tech base product issues. Also what kind of maintenence it requires and maybe if someone who's got it could review it. Thanks in advance

Another option is the Cyma SVD if you'd stay with the platform. the newer versions have a Quick change spring and uprated internals Locked to single shot and is easily capable of DMR power, OTB they do around 350fps but after changing the spring mine does 1.8j on a .43

It's a fantastic idea in concept, but in practice it's an awful idea. Me and my friend have pretty extensively tested with the grey Geoffs .5s in our bolt action rifles and went back to white BBs pretty quickly. The issue is that airsoft guns aren't precision instruments and a whole host of things will affect your shots pretty substantially. A brisk breeze, for example, will knock your BBs off course, but you can adjust for that with white BBs since you can see the general path that your BBs are taking in the wind. With grey, black, brown or any other "stealth" BB, you can't do that as you can't see where your BBs are going, so you might be shooting and internally raging because you're "totally hitting that cheater over there" when in reality your BBs are drifting about 5m to the left of him and you're just missing. I also tried the grey Geoffs .4s in a DMR and the BBs were awful quality. They were shattering in my hop up and I had to replace the hop rubber and clean the barrel and nozzle after trying a few mags of them. I threw them all away.

Have a couple of Cyma Platinum MP5’s which have a nice, snappy trigger, good range and rate of fire. One was bought second hand, run both on 11.1v LiPo without issue. Had one upgraded with a Gate Aster/brushless high speed motor (for snappier trigger) and longer barrel/hopup (for Accuracy and range) which improved it but not by a huge amount. can’t comment on their life as I’ve not had them for very long.

RRP £399 - virtually brand new, ordered this and the larger N4 2 weeks ago and have decided to stick with that one. This is as good as new and has only had 2 magazines fired through it - a couple of light scratches on the bottom of the hand guard and the back of the magazine but otherwise perfect. Feel free to message it you want to see some videos of it firing and being chrono’ed. The N4 Ghetto Blaster 7", developed by EMG and Noveske, is a fully licensed airsoft rifle showcasing authentic markings and powered by the reliable MWS GBBR system for a lifelike gas blowback experience. Featuring an 7 inch barrel, a versatile handguard compatible with M-LOK and Picatinny systems, and a 3-position adjustable PDW stock with ambidextrous controls, it is designed for both functionality and adaptability. Enhanced with robust internal components, this rifle ensures exceptional performance, efficiency, and durability, making it a dependable choice for airsoft enthusiasts. The Ghetto Blaster replica is equipped with a short-pull trigger, ensuring quick and precise shooting. Additionally, the 45-degree fire selector allows for fast and intuitive mode switching, while ambidextrous controls, such as the magazine release and bolt catch, enhance usability for both right- and left-handed players. It is also worth noting that all internal components of the trigger mechanism are made of steel, further enhancing the rifle's durability and reliability. This combination of innovative solutions makes Double Eagle's MWS system an ideal choice for players seeking durability and exceptional performance on the battlefield. Included: N4 Ghetto Blaster Noveske GBBR airsoft rifle 35-round magazine£330

Most airsoft guns performance is really not that different and unless you by a TM (even then they fail) there is not guarantee a gun will last years or fail out the box. Other than a few brand you should avoid, there really no such thing as a beginners AEG it's just a case of how much money you are willing to risk. I'd personally go with the cyma.

I’ve seen earthy browny coloured BB’s somewhere and did think about getting them but then I played a night CQB game where everyone was shooting bright green/red tracers and I realised seeing what/where you were shooting was more important than stealth so didn’t buy them.

Hi, I am new here in the Uk and looking into a beginner rifle. I am torn between the two: Specna Arms Edge 2.0 with Gate Aster Mosfet or CYMA Platinum Daniel Defense MK19 RIII 10.3" AEG with Eshooter ETU or the CYMA CM068 with the tracer What would you recommend between the two out of the box? Or any other better?

This was it before making it straight again. I ordered a new one (guns modify), which is on the way but I don’t expect it to solve it completely, since I had the same issue with a complete other bolt.
-
http://greendevilbb.com/ used to use these about a decade ago, and in forest sites they were near on invisible.

Ooh, I wonder what's coming next ? 😉

Thanks for that, does it pull out only the trigger guard? Are there then bolts to remove which hold the stock and action together?
