Honestly, just go with whichever you prefer the look of. TM pistols (assuming you're talking about the TM ones) are all really reliable and you don't need to do anything to them for them to shoot pretty damn well. Just leave it stock and it will last you seemingly forever.

Do tell us which section of the VCRA states that it applies to ‘shops’ only https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2006/38/section/36 A defence does cover the shops back - it covers the shop against prosecution. You are correct that possession is not an offence under the VCRA. But a private sale is not possession but the transfer of the possessed item in exchange of monetary consideration, AKA sale

From recent experience, that claim about selling/buying is inaccurate. With the boot sales at Shift Your RIFTs, the organisers said in no uncertain terms that private sellers have a responsibility to ensure that buyers have a valid defence to buy a RIF as the event was open to any Tom, Dick or Harry who may have sinister intentions and not just regular airsofters or novices looking to play on a regular basis. As Tackle & Rogerborg said, while checking a defence with private sales is in the minority of cases in practice and it's seldom enforced at a retail or private level when the RIF is already in the UK, shouting about your claims doesn't make them correct. The litmus test of your claim is that if enforcement of defence checking happened overnight, you'd find a lot of private sellers could be prosecuted no matter how much you shout that a defence is "not needed".

Back in the olden days, when PMR446 had 38 CTSS codes, before DCS was added making 121 codes, that people thought were sub-frequencies ….. There were also toy & other cheap PMRs without the CTSS function. I had a few Tesco stripey label PMRs which I would use to supplement our main PMRs. The lack of CTSS did not mean that channel 1.01 to 1.38 were unavailable, but that the cheap PMR didn’t know that it should not pick them up on 1.0 I could then allocate CTSS numbers to people, such as compressed air station (who had a habit of going to Vox and blocking the airwaves when running the compressor), another CTSS to safety Marshalls, another to game control Marshalls, another to the safe zone and one each to faction leaders. That way each CTSS group could have their own conversations whilst I could track them all or anyone could contact me. Then I’ll pull out my proper PMR and switch to the appropriate CTSS (The cheap PMR would only transmit on .0 rather than to the CTSS codes, but could hear everything from .0 to .38 as long as you were on the right core channel

It's not the essence of the game, but at the same time, if they really want to do it, i'm not going to get in a tizz about it - if they really want to listen to the drivel we put out on comms, have at it.
-
The issue is that genuine encrypted comms are so CM very expensive to get hold off and a real effort to set up and for airsoft, encrypted comms just isn't realistically an option, so I'm against eavesdropping on comms....unless this is an element that is written into the rules of the game.

I went with the Gold MTR-16 (because 'shiny'😁) Initial test OOTB was quite promising. With 0.3's and the hop wound right up, chrono'd at just under 290fps for a fairly consistent 1.15 joules At 25m it could hit and knock down the standard 5inch square steel plates we use for pistols every shot. At 30m the accuracy wasn't quite there and the hit rate dropped considerably. BB energy seems to be sufficient but a bit more accuracy would be good. The BB's were ASG Blasters so not the best. Time to get some Geoff's 0.3' and see if there's a difference. Very pleased for an OOTB experience.

Should more sites weigh the bbs during chrono?
GiantKiwi replied to JVacation's topic in General Discussion
Doesn't work there either. My one and only visit, had multiple people running Saiga's through chrono on the site 0.2's, then using way above the permitted 0.25's on joule creep, resulting in bb's punching through facemasks at 20ft. One of the players was a marshal, and didn't get spot checked once all day despite multiple complaints. Meanwhile, anyone who made a complaint spent the rest of the day getting spot checked every 15 minutes, despite many of us being well under the limit. -

Sorry yes what I meant was there's nothing to prevent me (or anyone), other than the threat of being caught. Ultimately, it's very very difficult to completely prevent people from cheating if they really want to. You just have to do everything you can to make it not worth it. -
