Makes me laugh when I see reviews of guns and a big negative they say is this isn't ambidextrous so I wouldn't purchase this gun, even though I only shoot r/h but I'll still pull this gun down. It's like come on do your research on a particular platform and you'll know before hand that the rs isnt ambi. (Yes I'm talking about the l85).

You forgot the 20 minutes dedicated to listing every individual control on the gun and how ambidextrous it is.

As above the perun ab++ or its gate equivalent the warfet. There are other mosfets that do burst like the merf but tbh i wouldnt really consider them worthy competition. Either way they'll need a seperation of wiring between the trigger contacts and the motor which for most gearboxes means cracking them open. Thats one of the reasons i like the gate ecosystem, as if you wire the gun for a cheaper basic mosfet like the nanoasr then changing up to a warfet is a plug and play operation and you could theoretically swap one mosfet between multiple guns (if you note down the settings for each pew). They have some disadvantages, specifically that because precocking is reliant on cutoff timing the first shot after a burst of auto wont be timed properly, which depending on your shooting style and disposition could range from inconsequential to annoying.

This is why there's only like, three Airsoft YouTubers I watch. Most reviews they just unbox it, plink at a target in their garden, and maybe put it through a chrono before telling you it's incredible and to buy it immediately.

Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread

Fair enough, about the tidying, I though it was a repost due to the timings, hadn't realised the ad had been dragged so much after so recent a posting. Not supposed to look or sound like a witch hunt but it was a reasoned accusation. This is information that I didn't have, my understanding or gdpr is from a hospitality point of view and there for a touch more black and white. -
In my defence it's mainly for gun reviews. Can't stand the ones running round a field shooting thinking they are sas. They never show you how many hits they received.

One thing I have to keep reminding myself with Airsoft is these aren't rs guns. Been watching a few YouTube videos of airsofters and it grinds my gears seeing so much poor marksmanship principles being practiced. Basic things like only the bottom of the but in the shoulder, snapping of the trigger and so on. I suppose this is why I've read a few times Airsoft can teach a few bad habits that on rs you wouldn't get away with and make you a bad shooter. But at the end of this everyone is having fun and I need to forget about my training and experience with rs so I'm not one to pull people down if I see bad practices on a site or video.

The octagon link previously stated a hicap, this looks like a midcap. Is there a choice of magazines available?

Not so much about how my airsoft day went, but how preparing for Sunday went. I was picking out a rifle to use with my launcher for the 3D printed projectiles and thought 'hmm, it's been a while since i've used this, I should probably check and re-lube it if needed'. I took the gearbox out to find a few cracks around the piston head. The second I touched it, it came apart. I had a spare G&G V2 gearbox shell but that doesn't fit in the Specna Arms receiver. RIP Specna Arms gearbox - 2 years in my hands and god knows how many in the last owners. ZCI replacement on the way from AK2M4. The work/repair list now consists of: Mk18 - new gearbox shell required KWA KM4A1 - Got it from action hobbies but they failed to mention the gearbox shell was also shagged in this. Will probably use as a donor shell because of Colt trademarks. Ares RDB - piston shredded or sector gear knackered I think AR57 - requires Perun ETU installing after dud one bought from user on here MP5SD6 - needs backdraft HPA unit fitting HPA M4 - firing semi only despite having full auto functionality - was planning on using this tomorrow but now it's giving me issues P90 long barrel - requires ETU installing I've got a lot to be getting on with.

Thinking about grabbing a Novritsch pistol (SSP5 or SSP28) to use as a sidearm in woodland, but also maybe as a main for CQB. I’ve already got an AAP-01 and thought about putting in some upgrades (tti scorpion kit) but by the time I finish it, it will be a money sink and no guarantee it would be better than something i can just pick up online. I like the idea of something snappy and reliable out of the box, but I’ve seen mixed stuff about Novritsch quality and proprietary parts. Anyone here using a Nov pistol as their CQB primary? Worth it? Or should I just keep building the AAP. (other suggestions are welcome, i do like a 2011 and im not ruling anything out. What are you guys running for a woodland backup or CQB main?

Well it's not going to win any beauty contests, or shooting contests but it works reasonably well now. All it needed was... New Gearbox (complete) New motor New grip New ejection port cover(still doesn't bloody close tho) New receiver pin (tbf I found the catch for the original pin when I removed the old gear box) Still want a gas tube for it (rarer than hens teeth apparently)
