I know I have asked before but I have completely forgotten, I want to attach a laser or torch to my new M4 but it doesn't have RIS already on it, so how do you attack a RIS onto a hanguard that doesn't have it, I'm assuming what I am explaining is a RAS? Correct,

Thanks in Advance, Cameron, Merry Christmas!

EDIT: Is this what I am looking for, http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/firs...l-for-m16a2m4a1

Hey that's not bad, do you think that'd fit on an L85?

If it is an M4 with standard plastic handguards you're looking to rail up, then I'd say they product you've linked there yourself is the way to go. Alternatively (budget depending) get yourself some Magpul PTS MOE handguards along with a couple of the polymer rails PTS specifically makes for them. Gives you the added option of mounting stuff to the sides, plus the standard handguards were never really designed for rails. The stuff you attach always sits at a slightly odd angle.

Just depends what you've got to spend and how fussed you are about things looking cool and 'realistic'. That's obviously a very personal thing.

well if you've got enough barrel sticking out the end then yea i'd imagine it would :)

Does it actually point accurately in the right direction, or is it adjustable or something?

I'm not 100% sure it'd look the part tbh, but if I decide to go for it anyway it'd be a nice thing to have, especially for CQB if I ever decide to go to a CQB site lol.

well if its not adjustable it'll point straight, it could look quite nice actually

it would be a lot easier getting a rail for a M4 then doing all that

If money was an issue then attaching cheap rails with a few screws is the cheapest option. if money is no object then there are rails systems to suit every budget and in every conceivable configuration, so whatever floats your boat really.

well i have a laser on the barrel and a M4 rail below which i attach a fore grip to

Posted

What i did was use the original g36c rails and put a bolt through the grip holes and a washer and nut on the inside

You're better off with these Guarder ones:

As you can see from the pic below, they are angled so that once in place you'll get two level rails for attachments.:

Ehobby are very reliable, shipping on something that small will be fairly cheap so you'd end up spending a bit less the the original ones linked to. Probably take a week or 2 to arrive!

I've got a set of those but I think mine came from the USA and they are indeed rock solid, excellent option if you want to keep the look of the original Gun :-)
