ButcherBill Posted Monday at 16:41 Posted Monday at 16:41 (edited) I used to watch this religiously years ago but stopped for some reason, just started again & laughing my arse off as I've watched a couple of episodes from S8 and seen thousands of shots fired & not a single case being ejected. I know it's a 'drama' but seriously... I'd expect ammo to be a luxury in a post apocalyptic world. Edited Monday at 16:41 by ButcherBill Tackle, HZR13 and Cannonfodder 2 1
Moderators Tackle Posted Monday at 18:31 Moderators Posted Monday at 18:31 Loved the show from the beginning, even when the storylines have "slowed", & yeah you've got to learn to ignore all the glaring mistakes & holes in the plot, it still kicks the proverbial out of all the copycat series & films you find floating around on amazon etc. The newer spin-offs have been quite good, Darrell Dixons story in particular, the last series ended with him & carol walking through the channel tunnel, & a snippet i saw from the new series showed them meeting up with one of the last remaing brits, plated by Stephen merchant, so should be funny if nothing else ?. On a similar vein, been a big fan of the 28 days later genre, in particular 28 weeks as the filmed a lot of it in & around my old workplace when I was there, but saw the 3rd instalment recently, 28 years, gotta say I was seriously disappointed, but it did end as if there's another instalment coming, hopefully that'll be better ?.
ButcherBill Posted 21 hours ago Author Posted 21 hours ago I'm not a zombie junkie, but like a few series, when it gets properly silly I tend to lose interest but most shows are like that...LOST to name one. I reckon they don't expect to as successful so don't plan for the long haul. I do like a zombie film tho, 28 days etc especially but when series run out of ideas they turn crap. I liked Z Nation, prob coz it didn't take it's self seriously. I've had a gripe with TWD since episode 1 tho... not a SINGLE character has mentioned the word Zombie. (as far as I know). Cannonfodder Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I used to be a fan of the zombie horror genre but got bored as they all seem to follow the same overused cookie cutter plotlines making them boring and predictable. While I haven't watched The Walking Dead, from clips I have seen it doesn't look any different HZR13 and ButcherBill 2
HZR13 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I did enjoy first 3 seasons then lost interest Tackle and ButcherBill 1 1

Z nation was terrible, watched a few in the beginning, gave up, then revisited it years later, still shite lol. TWD prob don't mention the Z word in case they have to pay royalties to George Romeros estate every time lol. ButcherBill and HZR13 2

I rather liked 28 Years Later which, apparently, is the first of three films. I don't think it is a zombie film per se, rather a coming of age/loss of innocence film set in a UK where zombies exist but are now just an accepted threat and life is a struggle for existence. I also felt that the UK's isolation was somewhat a commentary about Brexit. Ralph Fiennes character stole the show for me. Erik, the Swedish sailor, was something of a conundrum; as the Lad said, how does a shipwrecked Swedish sailor end up equipped like a Tier 2 operator? 1 hour ago, Tackle said: Z nation was terrible, watched a few in the beginning, gave up, then revisited it years later, still shite lol. hitmanNo2 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Z Nation was quite refreshing compared to TWD as it didn't take itself seriously and was very silly at times (most of the time).
Cannonfodder Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Are we forgetting the best zombie film of the past 25 years? ButcherBill, Colin Allen and HZR13 2 1
