Make an AEG Quieter?

As everyone knows, AEGs, being battery powered, are pretty loud.

Adding a silencer doesn't help much, it makes it slightly quieter, but most noise comes from the motor and the piston, right?

Is there a way to quiet those two down as much as possible?

Even if it means buying a new motor or parts etc, then suggest some for me please, but they must fit an A&K M4.

Thanks a lot.

I'll now have a look for those :P

Would it be worth making it quieter though?

Not really I don't think. Depends how you like to play so only you could know. Pretty sure helical gears would help, but I can't offer any details on them I'm afraid.

Probably won't bother with it then, I'll stick to my L96 when I want quiet :)

Thanks anyway

AEG quietening todo list:

1. Lees Precision Engineering Air Braked Pistonhead

2. HT Motor

3. Helical Gears

4. Shim Job; shim it from the gear that interacts with the motor for best results

5. Midcaps

6. Foam padding round everything inside

7. Seal the gearbox with foil tape, add some over the motor if you can do so without insulating it too much

8. Silencer

9. Sorbothane on the cylinder head OR a silent cylinder head

That usually makes them pretty hush hush ;)

Thanks, will it effect anything else other than sound, like FPS for example?
