Supporters TheFull9 Posted October 19, 2024 Supporters Share Posted October 19, 2024 Would have to say, in the first instance the chances of that are soooo close to zero, honestly wouldn't worry about it. In the second instance, LiPos very much aren't the ultra-unstable UXOs that some (fortunately rare these days) people make them out to be; again almost no chance that a bb strike would cause your battery to ignite. Theturdinator
Hey all, has anyone tried upgrading the spring to boost the fps? I'd like to run it at 345 Fps on 0.2g. I've seen the eagle6 springs for sale. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hatchet
Does anyone (particularly A4 owners) have any photos or links as to how the rear wiring is done? I've just picked up the VFC rear stock and am looking at moving the battery to there to allow for different front handguards. I'm not clear on if this is a totally different wiring job on the mosfet, or if they just wire to the front and then do some sort of extended cable run to the back. Expand The cables are slightly longer to come out the back, and there's a little plate that screws on the back to hold the cable. I don't have pics as i convered my A4 to front wired and fitted a folding stock, but might have the plate sonewhere. How the wiring comes out the mosfet is identical, it just goes whichever direction the battery is. I've had both my SD6 and A4 apart.
TheMeekon
Picked up the Midwest industries handguard and it looks awesome on the mp5A5 version. But won't fit 1300 nunchuck battery I'm on deans as well. So have I just bought an expensive show piece or is there any battery that fits with conversion to deans? I can't find an answer to that.

Expand I don't think that any of the skinny handguards support batteries there is literally no space between them and the outer barrel. It's not a show piece though because you can sell it with some loss obviously. Lots of people are into RS stuff here and it's a drop-in in most cases regarding gbb mp5's. I bought a cheap clone of that particular handguard and had the same issues. Your best bet is the genuine magpul handguard or if you feel adventurous you could try something like this: https://www.sixmm.com/en-gb/products/army-force-mp-style-mp5-m-lok-handguard-for-tokyo-marui-mp5-ngrs-gbb-seriesblk. Probably a bit bland looking these days but loads of battery room, comparatively not that pricey, as much M-LOK as you'll ever want and not bloody freezing in the winter. Mine took the tiniest bit of filing to a couple of corners internally to snap on perfectly, but they don't even always need that. TheMeekon
Back after 11 years off airsoft so I’m making some mistakes haha! I went for the Magpul. Cheers TheFull9
rj1986
I have fitted a small nunchuck lipo on tamiya in a midwest grip(think it was vapex). It's super tight but doable - you have to run the wires on top of the barrel, and the battery at 4 and 8 o'clock. I might change them to the new plug to make more space, but that limits the battery compatibility between other mp5's, and also if i do it wrong and blow the fet, it be proper buggered. That said, i later moved the midwest grip to an A4 and went magpul on the A5. Edited March 7 by rj1986 TheFull9 and TheMeekon

rj1986
Yeah it was a vapex lp302. Put the wires above the barrel, the batts left and right and the connectors at 6 o'clock and its a squeeze but does all fit.

TheMeekon
Anyone else’s tri lug adapter a wobbly mess? Tracer shooting all over the place. Shimming the end of the barrel with a bit of tape works as temp fix. Expand Rail fits via the 4 clamp points by the ejection port/magwell. Battery space is admittedly pretty tight but it fits (barely lol). If you plan on getting stuff for the handguard I'd recommend either cutting the screws down or buying shorter ones. I used 8mm M4 screws to stop any puncture issues. it's the 5KU Monolithic Rail. Installation is identical to this: EDIT: Sorry forgot to show battery space with all the shit attached: Edited Friday at 13:04 by Caik Doyley83
