Hi Guys,

I'm new to airsoft.  I'm just wondering what is the maximum FPS at Tazball Inverness

Thank Magpie.

Do you know what weight of the BB are at that FPS

Posted

You chrono with the weight you use in game, hence why they use joules as that is a constant.

Thanks Magpie

And that's the right way to do it.

Sadly though, guns are usually sold quoting fps with 0.2g, so you'd be looking at:

Fully auto AEG <= 1.2J <= 360 fps with 0.2g

Semi auto DMR = 1.68J = 426 fps with 0.2g

Bolt action = 2.32J = 501 fps with 0.2g

See http://www.asiaairsoft.com/index_topic.php?did=23&didpath=/23

Those are pretty standard limits for the UK, although most sites will quote in fps (with 0.2g) of 350 / 425[*] / 500

[*] DMR limits are all over the place from site to site, typically being anywhere from 400 to 500 fps / 1.5J to 2.31J

Hey im currently getti g into airsoft and have recently ordered the spring loaded walther ppk with 200 fps And am going to invest in an electric m4 but was wondering if the ppk would be strong enough and allowed on a course

Posted

PPK will be fine, and I would be staggered if they wouldn’t allow it on a site. You’re only issue is likely to be that it won’t have a great deal of range (because it is a pistol) and being a springer you will have to cock it after each round fired - so if you miss you are almost certain to take a hit!

Have a look in the classifieds for a second hand M4 RIF, literally hundreds of options, some that will include a few magazines and maybe a battery which will make your life easier.

Or take advantage of the sites hire package for your first game. Take the Walther as well and see how you feel with it. There should be no issue with that given it's FPS. You will soon get a feel for how the game plays and understand what you want. The Walther could make up good back up or close quarters option to compliment and AEG.

Yeah no problem with the ppk at all.

If you miss with first shot then throw gun at them lol.

Only joking don't do that.

You can pick gas pistols up from the classified ads fairly cheaply.

Have fun ??
