Hi and welcome to the forum.👋

I've had a look and the nearest to you I think will be hazelmere/bordon which is legion airsoft or eversley bravo, eversley.

You can check these and other sites out on 'play airsoft uk'

Hope you find something to suit you and  it's good to know that you are not letting your disability stop you👍

I've shot at bisly as well.

Regards

Hi

Thanks for the reply 🙂

I will have a look at both of those thanks and the play airsoft uk too and hopefully one or both will be good.

I try not to let it stop me doing what i can still and snipping with less movement will definitely be better 🙂

I used to love bisley as you have from 25 to 1200 but dont shoot live fire anymore and as iv looked more into airsoft

the weapons you can get replica's of is amazing and iv seen a Novritsch SSG10 A1 with a rem 700 type stock which is

similar to my rem 700 in 308 i had and they seem pretty good from what iv seen about them online ect

Hi Ricky, it's worth giving it a go, although it'll be very site dependent whether you'll be able to play effectively.

I would caution that airsoft guns at UK power have maximum ranges from about 60 to 90 metres, and are never as accurate as YouTube sniper channels will have you believe.  They're heavily edited, and sometimes more fiction than fact.

A well tuned sniper is generally built rather than bought, and banging on 2.3J it might achieve 20m over a rental AEG. But folk aren't going to let you maintain that distance for long.

I say all this not to put you off, just to try and set realistic expectations so that you don't get too disappointed if you get rinsed at your first day.

Hi

Yes i will have to see what the sites are like but i should manage most on a good day 🙂

Yes iv seen lots of videos reviews ect and know range is limited but with practice and decent cammo

and a good quality snipper rifle im sure i will get the fun excitement im hopping for out of snipping

someone just out of regular airsoft range and tapping them from the shadows unaware of where it came

from 🙂

The SSG10 does make a fairly decent argument for itself if you want something that should be competitive out of the box, once you've cleaned the barrel and hop rubber and bedded it in a bit.

We usually suggest doing at least one rental day before deciding anything though.  Some sites (not many, granted) do sniper hire packages, but usually you're looking at an AEG carbine with random performance.  Still, it'll let you know if the experience is for you, and airsofters are generally keen to show off their toys if you want to have a look at the sniper rifles there.

Just be aware that airsofters are about as honest as anglers when it comes to measurements, so take any claim about ranges with a large pinch of salt. ;)

Hi

Yes iv got to do 3 rental days before I get my ukara licence thing to be able to buy the SSG10 so I will know by then if that's what I still want to do!

I did see on the Novritsch site they say about the oil and braking it in for several hundred rounds and they get better the longer you use them.

I did think some of the ranges may have been exaggerated a bit 😁 I have a laser range finder so I can range targets if have time and also range targets for my own testing ect

Over the years I've had a handle and shot several people's sniper rigs.  I've asked several airsoft snipers what holdover points they use for different ranges, as several rifs have been fitted with MAP style reticules.  I've usually received a blank look in reply, so having someone know how to use a rangefinder and holdover might be a bit of a gamechanger.

Yep.  Its well known that .50 Browning, .338 LM and 6mm BB have similar external ballistic efficiency.  I believe that Creedmoor 6.5 is slightly out performed by the 6mm BB.

It's all down to the hop rubber.   You should hear what a real TM 6mm can do at a mere 300fps!

All I can say, from my time as a target shooter with air rifles, there are many disabled people that partake in the sport of shooting, some so disabled that the clubs assist with finding specialist equipment or design equipment to help the shooters.

I have seen one guy disabled from the neck down and his PA does things like the loading and charging the rifle, a tutor is there to give guidance and the client gets a buzz from doing the rest themselves of aiming and shooting.

As for airsoft, a site my son frequents has a player who is mobility scooter bound because of his cerebral palsy.

Myself, have mobility issues as I was born with a disability myself that affects my ability to mobilise, I can walk but not run, if I try running, its more like moon hopping, funny to see. I do what I can and take part in play that I can and any good site like an shooting club will know if they are able to cope with your needs or point you to a club that has all the facilities and possibly specialises in players with health issues.

As for the term disability, its a broad term, encompasses mental health, so wouldn't surprise me that the game has plenty of people with mental health issues that do the sport because it helps them with escaping from life for a few hours.

I welcome a break myself from daily grind, break the monotony of just existing, IMHO all sites that are able to and have terrain that can be used by disabled players, it would grow the sport more and offer new options to people who may never of thought about the sport.

I wonder how many people would benefit from a drive from the various sites to provide game days tailored to the disabled of all degrees, also don't forget that many children have disabilities that could gain benefit from child based games and not mixed with adults as I notice that some players treat kids like they are adults and that to a child can be off putting, on site has a rule that kids are not targets unless they fire an then the response must be measured like no full auto mag dumping on kids, preferably to just take a hit yourself, good for the kids moral and enjoyment. They are the future and players who are older need to adjust game play where kids are on site.

In fact, in many cases, new players who experience mag dumps of any age are put off by returning to the game, we had an incident where a player only 2 games in left because they got deluged and literally picked on. Sad because it loses players in to the sport when the sport needs to grow.
