Nickona
Hi guys, I'm trying ot find a reasonable pistol for m SADF loaodut for a reasonable price. They used Star Model BMs (a 9mm M1911) and to a much lesser extent the Z88 (beretta 92) I saw this and was wondering if anyone has used them or knew anything about them: http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acatalog/WE-1911-Government--With-Free-Spare-Magazine--WE_GP109.html#.UtpPPxDFKM8 Thanks a lot
Supporters M_P Posted January 18, 2014 Supporters Share Posted January 18, 2014 Avoid like the plague, they're truly awful. Only compatible with WE parts and not updated to their newer high standards. Any other brand is preferable. The best option is TM, shoot very well and have one key advantage. The plastic slide. 1911 mags are very very thin and dont hold much gas, the lighter slide gets the most out of the small amount held. On most pistols the WE or other make alternative is a good choice as there's enough gas to make up for the heavier slide but on a 1911 there isnt really. Nickona
Okay cheers. Sadly there doesn't seem to be any cheap marui 1911s However I did find this: http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acatalog/Tokyo-marui-PX4-TM_M92F.html#.UtpMERDFKM8 Although what I can't work out is why its so much cheaper than every other marui? Airsoft_Mr B
Probably one of their earlier models I guess? I think they made guns like the M9 and FAMAS first...
Supporters Esoterick Posted January 18, 2014 Supporters Share Posted January 18, 2014 What about this? http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-m1911a1-gbb-pistol
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies
Marui M92F is old, very, very old. Came out in the late 90s/early 200s I think? It's pretty outdated and not super good. Fixed hopup, plastics are not as good quality as their newer stuff, gas system and mags aren't too great either, compared to modern pistols. They updated it with the M9A1 with a newer gas systems, newer internals design and hopup. Sadly they didn't change the not so great mag design, but mainly because the M92F has been out for so long mags have gotten pretty cheap.# If you want a cheap 1911 govt, check out the KJW co2 1911. It's pretty reliable,Can take Co2 so you can et a fair amount out of the thin mag,has pretty decent gas efficiency and an amazing kick. Also a full marui clone so spare parts are plentiful. Nickona
Thanks a lot. I don't want to go CO2 as a few sites around me have outright bans on it. The M1911 Essterick linked could be good although a we bit more than I was planning on Anyone know anything about these: http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/asg-kwa-m9-gbb-hw-pistol-metal-slide http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/asg-kwa-sti-lawman-gbb-pistol-metal-slide Also what are KJW M1911s like? Might be able to get one with 3 mags for £
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted January 18, 2014 Supporters Share Posted January 18, 2014 I had one and wasn't impressed. I'd generally rate KJW as the worst gbb pistol manufacturer there is, discounting the typically shite ones like HFC.
Nickona
Ahh okay.. was yours the new TM compatible ones or an older one?
Supporters Finius Posted January 18, 2014 Supporters Share Posted January 18, 2014 I would happily make love to my old WE 1911. They're exactly what I look for in a sidearm; it can empty a mag in the right direction. But then I only ever use a sidearm for a tactical retreat!
