Baz JJ
I noticed that UCAP in Kent don't allow two tone guns. Is this another way of banning a lot of under 18s without saying so?
Supporters sp00n Posted August 12, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 12, 2013 U18's can be "gifted" a RIF At a guess its maybe to cut down on cheap guns which brake during there first skirmish, and the associated hassle etc
AirsoftTed
It's just an effort to promote realism mate, there are a fair few sites who don't like Two tones. It's not really a ban on under 18's either as anyone with a two tone can just wrap it in camo tape before skirmishing, meaning it's not a two tone! Supporters NickM Posted August 16, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 16, 2013 UCAP have a policy and let me see if I can remember the wording correctly from their morning safety brief, "We do not allow the use of two tone or clear guns or the use of guns bought outside of the VCRA system at this site" (OWTTE) They also don't allow them to be covered for the days play if I remember correctly. I've definitely seen plenty of younger players down at the sandpit, 14 perhaps and they all played outstandingly well, they encourage it. I think its mostly the realism issue, it really spoils my day when I see something highlighter orange sneaking through the woods especially when the carrier of said object thinks they are the Predator in stealth mode. Especially when the gun is used as a ref point to call them out to others and a rain of fire pours in on them. Two tones are not for under 18s only, remember you should be over 18 to purchase any airsoft gun, you just need a defence for a RIF.
Stormhall
I use a two tone and because of that I always play either the defensive support role or I'm busy patrolling until we get fired upon. Stealth has never been a gameplay option for me.
Supporters M_P Posted August 16, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 16, 2013 think its mostly the realism issue, This is the reason right here. UCAP keep their sites as 'milsimish' as possible so that's the main reason they dont allow two-tones.
Supporters NickM Posted August 17, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 17, 2013 Yeah the scenarios, playing/game style definitely lean towards more milsim. Eg. no box mags on anything that isn't actually a support weapon, bipod should be deployed as well.
