TLSFX are far more reliable.

The MK5 enola ones fall apart in your hands, and their "frag" pineapple grenades are too heavy by most site's rules so can only be used underarm.

TLSFX have been in the game longer, offer more variety and are more reliable.

Enola do have a large range of coloured smokes, but depends on your site whether you can use em.

My local is under a flight path so coloured smoke is banned.

So long as they go bang I don't really care haha.

I just get whatever they sell at the site I'm attending.

Unless its zero one, where they sell pyro that you cannot even use it on their own sites :)

I'm not sure of the make but I've had problems with some pale blue coloured MK5's. One went off much quicker than it was supposed to (as it happens resulting in my most successful grenade kill, but that's not the point lol), several have failed to strike, and a couple have failed to go off once the fuse burned down. The best MK9's I've come across have a shiny bright red outer layer of paper wrap - no failures to strike or go off, more of the tube destroyed in the explosion, very loud.

I think the pale blue ones you are on about might be the ones from Socom Tactical, X-plode they are called.

I bought 5 of the Mk5's and 1 smoke from Socom Tactical to give them a go as they are cheap.

1:5 of the Mk5's failed to go off, even when the fuse was held in a flame. 4:5 went off but the burn times and volume were wildly different. The smoke went off, its small and it didn't burn for a massively long time.

My thoughts on the Enola pyro, I haven't set off the ring pull smokes yet, they are bigger and fit nicely in 40mm grenade pouches. They seem to produce a good thick smoke screen and are pretty robust, there is a good cap on them that is pretty secure. The Mk5's have been a bit sh!t though. They seem to go off fine, the burn time is pretty consistent as is the volume, I haven't had a failure yet in about 4 of them. But of the 10 many have lost the strike cap from the top, they aren't glued on very well to the point I have had to reglue many and carry one cap in my pocket just incase. I've also had to put tape around the join between the cap and main body as they are breaking here as well.

One of the guys in the team bulk buys TLSFX and we can get them off him. They seem pretty bomb proof and he swears by them, he's been through a good couple of hundred and won't use anything else.

That's always happening to me, no matter which make or size. I'm hoping that some of the pouches I've got on my new black loadout will stop it from happening so often, but only time will tell. I use 3M Micropore Tape to hold the caps on, because it tears easily when you want it to, but holds the cap pretty solidly. Still, I use that stuff for my feet so I have it lying around; masking tape is probably just as good.
