Supporters Finius Posted March 5, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 5, 2013 Now then kiddywinks! Having just found out I'm due a £500+ tax rebate, I've decided to start a new project and would like some feedback! The base gun will be a G&P M870 Sheriff - Long: http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2elandwarriorairsoft%2ecom%2f&WD=sheriff&PN=G-P-M870--Shotgun-RAS-Tactical--Short--GP_SHG008%2ehtml#.UTVSjDAvlbo I'm then going to change out the stock with a six-position stock thing, as pictured here (I know it says discontinued, but I have it on good authority you can still find them): http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail3.php?tabpage=3&search=special&rs=Stocks&item=GP-ACC-391&search_From=category The standard M4-style sliding stock will be trashed and replaced with this: http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/product_detail1.php?search_From=category&item=OT-ACC-GLSBK&search=special&rs=Retractable%20Stocks&catid=14&cat=3 Then, to finish off the back end will be a shell carrier: http://www.amazon.com/GG-Remington-Shotgun-Carrier-GGG-1525/dp/B007MTR1ZO And a red dot: http://airsoft-club.com/shop/aiming-sight/red-green-dot-sight/1x20-qd-s-point-red-dot-sight-with-auto-brightness-control Replacing the handguard with a railed one: http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acatalog/G-P-M870-Handguard--Long--GP_COP023L.html#.UTVSkTAvlbo I'll be adding a gogun gas pedal and vert grip to that as well: -http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/gogun-usa-gas-pedalr-rs2-for-rifle-shotgun-by-pts-black.html -http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/accessories/grips-handguard/aeg/foregrip/element-td-vertical-ergonomic-grip-bk.html For optics and illumination I'm going for a tri-rail barrel mount: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-4-Picatinny-Weaver-Rail-Barrel-Mount-20mm-35mm-17mm-fit-for-scope-lase-/310617236623?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item48523ae48f With a laser and a flashlight: -http://airsoft-club.com/shop/flashlight/weapon-flashlight/ultrafire-c8-q5-cree-led-270-lm-flashlightbattery-charger -http://airsoft-club.com/shop/laser-sight/lxgd-high-power-visible-green-laser-sight-pointer-jg-018 I'm planning to stick some inert shells in the carrier, purely for the looks, then I've getting one of the fold out shell-pouches which I'll fill part with more shells and part with magazines. Also thinking a shotgun scabard on the back of my RICAS... What do we think?
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted March 5, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 5, 2013 It'd be the coolest gun on the forums if you used the shell ejecting one we were talking about the other day lol, but I guess every project has its limitations. =[ I personally prefer 870s in their standard config to any kind of tacticool variations, but maybe it'll look better once I see it. TacMaster
I liked the look of this G&P shotty: http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acatalog/G-P-M870-Mad-Dog-Type-Shotgun--Shorty--GP_SHG002S.html Shame there's no 2 toning
Sam_G
Sorry to say but Tacticool shot guns look all wrong in my opinion. at most i'd do is a flash light hand guard. BUT if you like it thats all that matters.
Supporters M_P Posted March 5, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 5, 2013 It'll look so cool but I wish they were tri-shot or something, its a lot of money for what is essentially a pump action rifle.
ginger colin
I have a very collectable VFC 870 in chrome... I nearly picked up an original wingmaster stock the other day buy it sold quickly.... I like the ATI but dont really wanna stick it on the VFC Keeping a look out for one of these.... http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/g-p-m870-original-shotgun-medium.html Does the G&P have adjustable hop... I have not had my mitts on one. In the past I have made my own....
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted March 6, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 6, 2013 I'm with M_P - it is a lot of money and hassle for something with a role better fulfilled by a sniper. But yeah, it will look very cool. I dunno what it is exactly but the unmodified one looks wrong to me. More green wellies and Barbour flat caps than BDU, you get me? Maybe consider this & this. I have them and it's all fine. The torch comes with a battery, but that charger seller also does a charger + 2 4000mAh 18650's for £5.95 inc P&P. Supporters Finius Posted March 7, 2013 Author Supporters Share Posted March 7, 2013 I will admit, hand on heart, that this project is ALL about looking fudge-hot. Airsoft shotguns have never and will never be close to real shotguns aside from the shell ejectors but they're not practical. I just think a tactical shotgun would look crazy nice! Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted March 7, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 7, 2013 I'd be happy with a semi auto Benelli M4 that's also a tri-shot, in fact that'd be awesome - made of god damn metal. Why do all shotguns seem to be shitty plastic?
Supporters Finius Posted March 7, 2013 Author Supporters Share Posted March 7, 2013 Because they're such an impractical platform that it's barely worth people making them anyway really...
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted March 7, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 7, 2013 I don't think tri-shots are impractical.
Supporters M_P Posted March 7, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 7, 2013 compared to any alternative weapon I think they are to be honest. I'd much rather use a pistol or smg in cqb. I can't really think of a time when a shotgun has an advantage, especially if you can get off a greater volume of more accurate shots in a quicker time than a shotgun can. Supporters TPI Posted March 7, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 7, 2013 I want the Mad Dog but with the Normal Barrel it would be better in my Opinion if it used the Shell's whether or not it was Tri or Single-Shot

Supporters TPI Posted March 7, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 7, 2013 Their compairing AEG's and GBB's to a Springer Ian it's already unfair for Tri's
Supporters M_P Posted March 7, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 7, 2013 Yes but those are what you'd be up against when using them Craig, its hardly an unfair comparison. Don't get me wrong they're good fun and there's nothing like pumping a shotgun but they aren't the most practical weapons
Supporters TPI Posted March 7, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 7, 2013 Yea True but if everyone's at different level's of skill it equal's out don't forget about the Gas shottie's either I've bumped into them just as often

Supporters Finius Posted March 7, 2013 Author Supporters Share Posted March 7, 2013 The Maruzen M1100 is a beaut, but it'll throw shells all over the place.
Supporters TPI Posted March 7, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 7, 2013 You can get shell catcher's Drock Climby Dave is selling his Maruzen M870 aswell the Gas Pump-Loading shell ejecting version
Supporters Ian_Gere Posted March 7, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 7, 2013 Yeah, I'm thinking of something for a masterkey bodge. The M1100 Revision looks like a possibility @520mm - especially with a shell catcher.

Supporters Ian_Gere Posted March 12, 2013 Supporters Share Posted March 12, 2013 A gas powered, shell ejecting, Masterkey. Oh my. Brb... I've just won the auction for a Dremmel type thing, so yeah, it's becoming more likely... I think I'll need to cut the length down, which should be easier to do because it's semi auto so there's no need to keep length for a pump to travel. The real problem is that the gas reservoir is in the grip and ideally I could do without the grip. I might be able to use some kind of hydraulic tube or model making steel pipe to put it in a PEQ15, or some random 'tactical' looking rail mounted box lol! Supporters Finius Posted April 6, 2013 Author Supporters Share Posted April 6, 2013 So I've made some adaptions to this idea. Firstly, I've sacked off the G&P M870, they're basically the same performance wise as any spring shotgun made anywhere, including ones for £25. So to that end, I'm going for the KJ Works KC-02 10/22 Tactical Carbine. It comes with an M4 stock-tube as standard, as well as plenty of rails and semi-auto which is pretty snazzy, it also, aside from the mag, looks like a shotgun. I've decided to also change the stock from the original plan, having decided it looks a bit too ugly for this project, I'm going to be getting a magpul MOE stock, I'll also couple this with an MOE pistol grip and matching AFG. Being as this is no longer a shotgun and has ris already, the shell carrier, tri rail barrel mount and ris-handguard are also being sacked off. I've already bought an ultrafire torch, which means aside from the above stock and grips, it's just a red dot, laser and gas pedal to buy. Should be slightly more practical, slightly more adaptable (sniper or cqb weapon dependent on gas and the use of an N.P.A.S) and still look just as badass. Thoughts? Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted April 6, 2013 Supporters Share Posted April 6, 2013 I'm unsure as to whether there is an NPAS kit for the KJW KC-02, but otherwise I think it sounds pretty (tacti)cool. One thing though, you said the other day you'd have it in a scabbard. Will that work with the mags? Or would you have it slung with no mag inserted?
