  1. But does fitting a Titan/Perun/whatever to a V3 gearbox sort out the horrible trigger pull (at least compared to a V2)?

My AK and G36 have fairly long trigger pulls, I know MP5K's are worse - so what's the point of a fancy pants ETU without a nice, short (sub-5mm) trigger pull?

(Yeh yeh yeh, I get it - you'll have the fancy programming bollocks n'all that as well, but so does a Warfet)

What advantage does that short stroking gizmo achieve?

Shortens the cycle time by restricting the rearward slide movement, allows the trigger to reset faster in semi and ups the ROF overall.

A lot SS kits preclude the use of the slide lock as the slide cannot cycle far enough back to engage it.

I've never bought from a store it's always been online - I feel shaken by these new charges to the point where I can't validate paying that much for what is essentially shipping. I'm in a bit of a conundrum personally about carrying on (maybe this is because I'm as we all are starved of a game day) but yea I'm upset by this and dont fancy paying UK prices.

That's fair enough. But it seems the days of cheap guns from Poland have gone. I've been buying guns in the various sales over the last year from UK stores, there were many bargains to be had. Not TaiwanGun cheap, but still significantly better than normal UK retail.

I have spent more than I should on Airsoft and the significant majority of this has been in the UK. I have only really gone overseas when I can't get what I wanted in the UK (and that includes most of this order from Taiwangun). UK stock is very hit or miss and that is especially so right now where it seems many products are out of stock.

May I ask, how much was your order total? I'm trying to wrap my head around the 'Government Charges' bit and see if roughly correlates with Import Duty and VAT.

i mean i'd been airsofting a good decade before i started buying gats online, up until that point it was impulse buys at the brick and mortar and secondhand.

Indeed. I've been playing for 15 years now. My first ever overseas Airsoft order was placed only 12 months ago - funnily enough with TaiwanGun. The rest of my guns/gear were bought from UK suppliers anyway.

New players will get sucked into the sales pitch from shop staff - not realising that they can buy cheaper from elsewhere. Spend 20min in the Zero One* showroom on a Saturday morning and you'll see plenty of punters paying over the odds for their first shooter.

*Not dissing Z1. They have staff to pay, family to feed, Mercedes to buy etc, so if people are willing to pay their prices, then fair enough.

I knew I should have posted it on the real steel forums instead:)

Agree that it's expensive and totally unnecessary for airsoft, and only of interest to impression load-outs and real steel gear enthusiasts.

Target market is obviously very small, will probably sell in 6 months time when someone searches for it and comes across the ad.

It's a fair price for what it is. Very niche, but I'm sure there's someone out there who will want it.

By the way, WE has now released a, not surprisingly, really bad clone of the AAP, same upper but with a glock lower, while overcomplicating the overall design..

    Gawd, it looks fucking awful.

I've been following this thread with interest. Very tempted to pick an AAP-01 up on payday.

Poland's tax office have the authority in certain instances take money owed from your business account if they wish to.

Yup actually take the money from the account, where as UK can freeze the account, Poland can actually take money owed to them

So can HMRC through Direct Recovery. The new rules came in a few years back just before I left the department. If you owed more than £1K in tax, and had over £5k stashed across your bank accounts, the money can be taken directly from the bank if you ignore HMRC trying to contact you.

so TWG are likely skimming 2% admin fees...

As previously mentioned, it could be currency fluctuation. I've seen the prices go up and down a few quid each way quite a few times on TG.

I've no idea how frequently they update their conversion rates - it could be a built into their shops back-end system to pull the spot rate automatically.

Yeah, I've just had the email through.

No doubt any cost savings will be like you say, swallowed by "handling fees"

TG stock a lot of stuff that’s not readily available from UK suppliers, so for me cost is a lesser issue, it’s about having choice of products.

For example, they have the CYMA blue edition MP5K in stock, which I’ve yet to see here in the UK.

Handling fees are annoying, but it’s the import duty that will be the kicker, if it’s charged at all.

So we need a order minimum of £140 plus shipping and VAT/duty and then carrier charges.

Not worth it then I guess?

Taiwangun are not charging Polish VAT on sales to the UK. All the prices have been dropped by 23%.

UK VAT is chargeable at import, collected by the carrier. Not sure about the duty side of things as to whether it is chargeable under the free trade agreement or not.

So net we gain 3% on the VAT difference, but that will be swallowed in carrier charges.

The shipping cost has been dropped a little I notice, just over £9.

One of the New Specna Edge 2.0 rifles (The E05 - the CQB M4)

Excited to see how they've improved it.
They come with Flat triggers licensed from GATE to work the best with the Aster mosfets, the previous Aster-fitted Specnas used standard triggers which didn't agree with the Aster.

And they've apparently tweaked the gearboxes to fix the problems they had with Edge gearboxes failing.

Oh! and a Flat hop as standard - but I'm not sure if it'll need swapping for something softer. Typically Specna stock rubbers are too hard as they are meant for the 400fps players on the continent.

    But!.... we'll see!

It would be interesting to see if they've fixed the QC issues with the Edge 1.0 guns.

Did I see somewhere that the Core series will start being shipped with X-ASRs as standard?

Oh, right thanks so much. So when the Uk shipping comes back, i just pop the UKARA number and downgrade thing in and I’m good

You shouldn't need to mention the downgrade in the commentary - there's a button on the product page to specify your output before adding to cart.

    image.png.28d8d13879de1b11cd10a019c3929789.png

Otherwise, just your UKARA number and downgrade FPS and you should be fine.

Be prepared for VAT + Import Duty + Handling fee from the Courier when you are actually able to order.

Otherwise, if it's a relatively common gun, consider a UK supplier - the price difference will not be as big anymore.

When it comes to Star Rainbow Company the old saying 'In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king' springs to mind with your examples....😜

    I shall counter with - the XM8.
