  1. With a r hop you will comfortably lift .43. There are an increasing number of people changing to .66 however these are a little more costly. Dont go for the Bb bastard ones they are heavily over priced. A guy on the sniper forum is selling some. Also don't believe those who will tell you they are unsafe to use. This is wrong and ill informed. Again refer to the sniper forum and a guy called careful who is leading this .66 revolution. Bullet
  2. The best bang for your buck would be hop and airseal mods. If you haven't already, research the R hop. Should work wonders. Sealing up the contact between cylinder, hop rubber and hop rubber, barrel. You can achieve this with teflon/ptfe tape or make something called anti blow by rings. Again google search this. There is a good youtube video that shows their effectiveness. Last but not least, ammo. This makes a huge difference. Be aware that best results will come from matching your bb weight to your fps. Also may I suggest the airsoft sniper forum. There is an incredible amount of research being done to improve your rifle that it is an invaluable resource. If you need anything more feel free to pm me. Bullet
  3. Hi Dazzler. Welcome first of all. I was exactly like you a few years back. Didn't fancy the aeg route. I read all the forums that said don't go straight to sniper, but I ignored everyone and haven't looked back. In terms of rifles may I suggest that a bolt action may be of more use to you. Their range, in most circumstances, is considerably better and there is so much info about them (look at the airsoft sniper forum, it is amazing) that make 100 metre shots a viable prospect given the right conditions and rifle setup. I feel like you have done your research but may i suggest a JG BAR10. They take 100% tm parts, are considerably cheaper and shoot well enough out of the box, and that with some of the free mods out there you will be able to be effective very quickly. Edit: I just re read your post and saw you are lefty. There is a good thread on the airsoft sniper forum about left handed bolt adaption. Also, post a picture of your ghillie. It's always nice to see another keen sniper setup on this forum. Bullet
  4. Well. Much to everyone's dismay mine was a JG BAR10. I still have it today and it is all I have ever really played with except one day with a rental g36c. Most say dont start with a sniper but I may be the only ever exception to the rule who actually stuck with it.
  5. As airsoft warrior said. The mk23. As a sniper there is 100% no better sidearm!
  6. Liittle bit of a necro post but if you are still struggling with an airswal issue try anti blow by rings. Basically a piece of brass that slides over you hop rubber to make the seal stronger. If you pop it into youtube there is a video about them. Bullet
  7. What camera did you use to film with? The slow mo footage looks smooth. Im guessing it was shot at 120fps? Bullet
  8. Good vid. My favorite was at 1.20 when the guy does a 360 after taking the hit. Classic! You gained a sub sir! Bullet
  9. I would re iterate a previous post. Check out the airsoft sniper forum. It is truely incredible what people have come up with. As for price you may be told you have to spend a thousand pounds to be able to snipe, but from experience you 100% do not. There are many free mods you can do that will make you weapon more than useable! However be prepared to read about your rifle and get used to tinkering with it. Again in my experience it is the most rewarding thing that you can do in airsoft. On buying a rif, there are so many people who buy all the bits then dont like it that you can get some amazing "used once" deals. That is my only regret, i bought new! If you nees anything else feel free to pm me! Bullet
  10. Mk23 MK23 MK23 MK23. Yeah you want an mk23. They really are the best sniper sidearm you can get. There are loads of reviewa out there. I have a y&p one. Not as good as the tm but it is epic still and it is basically silent and very good on gas! In short, forget everything else and get an mk23. Bullet
  11. It sounds like somethint may have gone a bit weird putting the new arm in. My suggestion would be to take apart you hop unit and try that first. There are tons of tutorials out there to help! Good luck!
  12. Dude this sucks. Positive suggestion. Grab yourself a boltie or an air rifle and take up target shooting. And if your feeling able setup as a gun tech and take on work as and when you can!
  13. Realistically your not going to notice a much greater sting i wouldnt imagine given med etc. I also wouldnt mind betting he paid no more that 10-15cents each for them, which whilst still alot he will make that back, there is a lot of love for him on that forum so i dont think they will be available for long.
  14. ^flippin miles either way. Can you imagine the look on someones face when they realise they got him from 130 metres!
  15. ^thanks for the link. I could have sworn he was using field acceptable fps, wanna say 550 in the states? Bb weight isnt an issue and neither is the ceramic. He mentions this in another thread!
  16. Matching your barrell length, cylinder volume and fps will bw your greatest gain! For instance i have a mk23 with a barrel extending suppressor which makes the fps jump from 300 to 450 (i never use it in game by the way). Bullet
  17. Not my rifle but a guy on the airsoft sniper forum has a heavily customised rifle firing 450ft or 120m! I cant link right now but look for gunner79 mantis project by "Careful" on that forum. Its incredible how far they are pushing bbs out to.PS fps i have learnt is not the answer to distance! It gets very scientific but very interesting!
  18. Im not an ex serviceman however. Your clearly not trying to portray that you were a marine so would therefore suggest that it is a tribute to those people and as such should go ahead with your loadout. Bullet
  19. That sucks balls dude. As and when you get it fixed i would suggest that yoi get some heavier ammo for it. You should see a real improvement in your groupings! You might have to experiment a little to find the correct weight!
  20. My advice (and sorry to promote another forum) is to try the airsoft sniper forum there are lots of knowledgeable people on there. Make sure you read the rules first though. good luck!
  21. Just to add to the price of it. I once tried to organise a sniper game with around ten people, the site wanted £700 for the day. So sadly that wasnt really feasible.
  22. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=s6WjqhBP9DU Check this link out. There is a guy called phantomtma and a bunch of other guys who set it up. They run courses in the north east but i was wondering if any sites had adopted it yet. I know shock and awe in abergele have had a game. Bullet
  23. Anyone ever try the game at shock and awe in abegele. The hunteering event? That is what i am after Cheers
  24. They sound cool. Where do you guys play?
