Ah, thank you. I did get them with a set of classic army ones but these have trades and the others didn't that's why I was confused.

I have no idea what brand this is but I have two of them. They are both metal ~120 rounds midcaps and have RS trademarks on the bottom saying "ADVENTURE LINE MFG.CO.INC PARSONS.KS.USA" i was thinking they may be G&P but no idea really.

After having a stripped piston just a few months after getting the gun, I want to do everything to prevent it from happening. I've looked at how to do it but where do you get sorbo pads in the uk?

I have just ordered a piston from him that he recommended to me in another thread. Also, will abbey gun grease LT2 be fine for lubricating the gears and piston or should I get special gear and piston grease. It's not a white lithium grease or Teflon grease like people recommend.

It was the stock piston as it's only the second time I've opened a gearbox. I'm also definitely not going to buy a steel tooth piston for that reason. Shims also ordered and I'm loving the signature

Wow thanks for the fast response. That was almost what I was wanting to hear as a piston is significantly cheaper than a gear set. Also where can I get a good set of shims, with a variety of sizes for not too much?

I too can't comment on the site specifics, however, most sites rental guns are quite good and long lasting as they are meant to stand up to quite a beating. As you are on this forum you will have a bit of knowledge, more than the average noob perhaps, and if you just start to talk to someone about their gun or a good tactic, that is a good starting point.

I recently took my gun to a shop and they said it sounded like either the piston or gears had partially or fully stripped. Instead of paying the £25 for them to look, I did it myself but can't work out if they are ok.

lol, I had that idea a while back, but can only imagine how that would play out. Mum can you just put your credit card details on here. Son wtf are you buying, I think we need to sit down and have a talk. My funniest moment would probably be the day after the skirmish cup (a small airsoft competition and a normal walk on the next day where everyone gets pissed and no sleep so in no state for airsoft the next day). I was hiding in a hut with about 7 people all unloading hi cap after hi cap into the hut and into my arse from the ricochets off the wall. Standing outside was one of the hungover marshals who camped. My reign ended in the hut when 3 pyros went under and the marshal was then complaining about his head lol.

I tried the screwdriver thing but wasn't expecting so much tension, I'll be more prepared this time . I hadn't thought of the magnet thing as I didn't know the gears could actually slip out if place. Thanks for everyone's help

With the cm18 (and I believe R8-L), the ris is removable via two Allen screws on the top and bottom of the ris but not by the Daniel defense style system. This may be the same on the raider but I have no idea how you would fit a new rail onto it.

Ok thanks for that I guess that will make closing it easier than last time. How do I make sure that the spring is under the least amount of tension when I open it?

Literally just taking the case off and putting it back on. I may have to replace some parts but I made a thread about it. I just wanted to make it go smoother that last time because I am more prepared for it.

Thanks for the advice, would the gears need grease, if so what grease do I get? Also what is the difference between the teeth? Version 2 gearbox from a cm18 combat machine. I just wanted generic advice really because the one time I dig it it was a pain in the arse to put back

Well the first time I opened my gearbox went ok until I needed to close it again. It took ages to get the thing shut, so now I ask for the best tips on opening and closing a gearbox.

My combat machines gearbox stopped and someone told me that it had probably locked. I took it to airsoft zone and they said that the piston and/or gear were partially stripped and it would cost me about 50 to replace them at minimum. So I want to do it myself and want to know what gears and piston to get if I need them and where to get them.

I got a cm18 two toned albeit not from zero one but from Swindon airsoft. The gun was painted blue on the ris and the stock only.

If you get a cheap reflex or holographic sight with a bb shield it will allow you to aim much faster in cqb than the standard iron sights would.

Lol I don't have one but just my opinion from what I've seen on YouTube and stuff. I'd love to get one too when I can afford it (I'm only 15 too btw)
