tl;dr summary - Hackney, 13 year old with a blue-and-white (or pink-and-white) water pistol[*] gets rammed off his bike and arrested at gunpoint, allegedly.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-67148208

While I suspect there's a bit more to it than that[*], it's a salient reminder that waving any vaguely gun-shaped-object in public is now absolutely gagging for an over-reaction by the tools of the State.

[*] This is strictly the victimhood side of the narrative, being pushed by what appears to be a BLM offshoot. Similar reports from the US about "neighbourhood water fights" have turned out to actually mean non-consensual shooting of random public victims with gel blasters.

Pretty sure I’ll be ruined after 3 or 4 days on the slopes, probably not helped by being a first & last lift kind of guy. But that’s what the apres ski for right? Recovery beers are definitely a thing.

Think we’ll fly as there’s not much in it cost wise, four of us would be cheaper to drive but two works out even and flying would be less hassle and I also wouldn’t need to buy snow chains.

Did the ski train down to Bourg St Maurice last time I went and while it was easy and cost effective, it was just a regular train that went to snowy places, so half the passengers had board/ski bags as well as a suitcase and nowhere to put them. It was carnage. Hope they’ve got more storage space nowadays.
That said it was great to get on a train after work and be in Bourg for breakfast before getting the first lift of the day, maximised piste time that’s for sure.

I’ve fitted an XT100 from AK2M4 today. It’s now bang on the money at 348/349 with .20g.  Thank you for your advice and help fella.👌🏻

Aw, cheers bud. It's the mc51 version. With a ps90 barrel extension on it.
I wanted the full size one so I could put the bipod on it but this came up cheap so I got it. It was on my list of "pews to have that aren't an m4". 😂

It's vinyl wrap. It's a bit light but it seems to look the part. Bit fiddly with compound curves though 🤯
As with all my hobbies, I don't keep much standard, hence the fiddling.

@ak2m4 I feel your pain bud. I wish I had all the tools in my workshop to make things like I did in my apprenticeship but alas, one day it'll happen!
The box is here at work with me so I'll play when the boss goes home but I think you're right with the AB. cool kids toys actually work....😂😂

Those motor towers were a sod to get made, should be some slightly thicker ones coming with the option of EZO bearings for those who want to rpm over 40,000, although the normal bearings will probably be fine.

The reason I mentioned about AB is that every so often I hear a brushed motor failure story from a customer, not just the motors I sell but other brands also.  99% of the time it seems the culprit is Gate's Adaptive AB setting.  I've not really looked into the issue though but good to keep in mind.

Slap one of those shitty stinger stocks on anything and you can call it a PDW. Doesn't actually make it one though. Marketing, innit.

Tbh I never got in with the "in" crowd at school, seemed like too much hassle. In fact, it still does. 😂
Although some of the cooler kids (and one grumpy one) appear to have some super awesome motor towers....👍😁

Its one of g&g's old versions of blowback.

It uses a pneumatic cylinder mounted on top of the gearbox, air from the main cylinder (the one pushing the bb out the barrel) bleeds off through a rubber seal into the blowback cylinder causing it to push the visual gubbins attatched to it to look like it's cycling and simulate "recoil".

The issue is that it adds a whole bunch of places where air from the cylinder can escape, which is bad for a consistent muzzle velocity and by extension accuracy (which is as necessary as raw power for good effective range).

The symptom will be a wide range of fps figures when firing a few shots through a chrono and vertical dispersion of shots in-game.

The good news is its possible to de-activate it by removing the rubber seal and replacing the stock cylinder for one without a vent hole.

Its probable a spring change may be necessary, i suspect the spring is a bit meatier than strictly necessary to maintain velocity whilst also powering the recoil system, last one i worked on had other issues so i can't be sure the spring was the proper power level.

Really depends on how they rated their madbull m100 springs, I think they rate them with 0.25g.  They do give a kg rating though which is pretty useless.  For the XT springs grab a M100, then you can always adjust from there once tested

ak2m4 reacted to Rogerborg in New Specna Arms SA-E15 EDGE won't fire out the box?
Oh, right, I've just seen the video, I had to download it to get it to play.

That... urgh... Nuprol battery and the polarity should be OK, although NiMh is old technology and I wouldn't spend one penny more on it.  A 7.4V lipo will do the same job.

The basic-bitch mosfet in the Edge can get stroppy at higher voltages and motor draws, but would flash red if so. As @Dan Robinson says, it should flash green when you plug the battery in.

If the mosfet isn't flashing green it's misbehaving (or conceivably the batteries are total duds, or your charger has discharged them - some NiMh "smart" chargers can be worse than useless, and Nuprul gonna Nuprol).

If you're getting the green flash on connection, then the motor terminal connections are a good shout.  It looks like you have the quick-access grip with a squeeze-to-open latch (that's actually a terrible idea normally, but which will be handy here).  Be careful when you remove the base plate, there's a little disk in there which sits under the motor that loves to fall out and get lost.

Although since this is brand new, I would also agree that the best thing to do is to call the retailer and have them talk you through it, because at least then you'll be doing things under their instruction and they'll be less able to argue the toss on it if it does have to go back.

It probably is something simple, that's not a fire-control mosfet, just a simple relay, and there's not much to go wrong there.

Mmm, airsoft spring ratings are more what you'd call guidelines than actual rules. The good news is that it sounds like you've got great airseal, so you can downspring and every other component will thank you for it.

While I'll stress that @ak2m4 really does know what he's talking about, it is just possible that you might need to go lower than M100 on an XT spring.  I absolutely fluked out on a short-tight-barrel M4 and hit 1.3J with an M100 XT spring and had to drop to an M90 to tame it.  But that's a freakish occurrence, and an XT M100 will typically be the sweet spot for UK guns.

Easier way is to buy a new spring.  Cutting springs can work fine also but can lead to other issues.

I made a handy chart on my website on the XT springs that should give you an idea of where to start.  Some AEGs come short stroked from new, some super short inner barrels.  Lot of variables which affect power.

If your gun has a quick change system simply buy a new spring, somthing like a m100 or m90 and replace it, if you know the model and make of your rif do a quick google and find how to replace the spring with your specific gun, i reccomend ak2m4 but other sites are available

Does the rifle group without optics ?

as above , set your hop for the heaviest bb you can lift , work out where your groups open up , fit optics and set the zero a bit before that range .

so if it groups say .28bb at 30mtrs , I’d probably set the optic up for 20mtrs .

but it’s airsoft , wind , bushes and airsoft mean most of it is moot .
