You could always use a neoprene mask, then you could add a zip?

Just bought a dump pouch Gas mask bag

Late WW2 style lightweight gas mask bag. An authentic item to carry where people usually have a dump pouch on modern loadouts and should fit empty sten mags with ease

She left them on my bedroom floor.

Well, I say 'floor'... they were actually caught on the lampshade, but they ended up on the floor eventually!

Looks like a 1980's tankers helmet? Shape is right for airbourne.

Those evil people at Landwarrior are at it again. The £99 Stens seem to be gone

£150 for an Ares Grease gun! So who's going to get roped into a WW2 American loadout then?

The cutout V's allowed me to tape the foam together to form about a 120 degree angle with a curve laterally. I have left 6 inches of tubular bandage above and below the foam. I think from walking around my flat that they will work better than just kneepads.

I think I have solved the knee pads under battledress issue!
The issue: WW2 battledress trousers would just look wrong with knee pads on top. Knee pads under trousers are just plain uncomfortable as the elastic digs into the skin and you cannot adjust them easily if they start to slip down.

I thought I had a solution which was to get some large tubular bandage to wear underneath. Then I had a better idea which was to take the elastic off and sew the kneepads to the tubular bandage. This would mean the kneepads would be unusable for other loadouts. The other drawback of using existing kneepads is that they are bulky.

What I have just done is take a sheet of high density foam which used to be part of one of my Molle Vests (removed it as it mean't I couldn't feel hits) and cut it in half. This gives 2 pieces about 3" by 5". I then cut a V out of each long side about halfway down going about 1" (1/3 of the way) towards the center. Stuck the V cuts together with duct tape so the foam is now Knee shaped. Spread fabric glue over each knee pad and with in on my knee, rolled tubular bandage over the top and leave to dry. Result: cheap low profile knee pads.

If you look at the Shoot'n'scoot kit form

only the last few inches are inside an outer barrel.

Oh and my helmet arrived It's very discoloured so I mixed up some enamel to match the few patches of green left and gave it a lick of paint. It's currently drying in my spare room.

I'm thinking that an alternative design for holding Vests would be to use plywood. If you use a human target as a template (blow up the picture and paste it on or paint one yourself). The benefit is that it looks less like the grave of the unknown airsofter and more like something you can use to create a shooting range when you get a chance
The main beneifit is that it will have a waist and therefore can hold webbing too.

So having tested the loadout in the field:
Knee and elbow pads: Can't wear them over clothing as it will look wrong, my current pads are just not comfortable worn underneath. I may have to think of a better solution

Sten: Frickin awesome at mowing down groups of enemy as they advance, may try some heavier ammo next time to get a bit more range and punch through foliage (was using .25's). Battery useage is high, I have a hunch that the Burst wizard may be sucking up battery power so may ditch it for outdoors.

Ammo pouches\mags: May have to sew in dividers so that mags can be kept organised to determine which are full/empty, or may just number them on the ends. May have to get more mags as when the shit hits the fan and serious suppression fire is needed, 6 mags really don't last long.

Comfort: Denim battledress is really comfortable. Denison smock is great for when it rains. Pocket space is a bit on the ridiculous side, hard part was remembering what was in each pocket. The fact that a MK23 Socom fits completely in an inside pocket of the denison (silencer off) says a lot.
Overall weight of the gear is rather high, it gives a good workout but it's not uncomfortable.

Oh and on another note, I have a Steel helmet for my loadout due to arrive Wed/Thurs A bit more weight but who cares, its a frickin WW2 airbourne helmet

    Yay finally!
ok probably not that exciting to most of you but it's the Haft or Handle for my WW2 Entrenching tool. The entrenching tool and cover came with my webbing but was missing the handle. The left hand end takes a shovel/pickaxe or at the right hand end you can fix your bayonet to create a melee weapon, mine detecting poker or more likely to cook sausages over a fire.

Also just noticed an email regarding the small pack I ordered previously, they had found they didn't have any left and refunded my money so I have now ordered another from epic militaria.

Just checked on the WW2 airsoft forums and it's not an airbourne helmet, its royal armoured corps. Same outer shell though so not a problem
