  1. Having had a couple of guns to fix from friends that have been "serviced" by Socom, I'd recommend getting in touch with these guys instead https://beakersairsoftbits.wordpress.com/services/

Got this for my birthday! My word, it'll put hairs on your chest!
  3. Encouraging for sure. I do wonder though if 10 of each is a fair sample but to be statistically significant you'd have to test way more from more batches than a favour from a friend would allow. That said, I've not had any issues with Vorsk ammo that I've used in the past. Be interesting to see who OEMs it.
  4. Have you checked the polarity of the connections to the motor?
  5. The 501st Legion. Stormtrooper cosplayers that are about as close to being "official" as cosplayers get. Total stitch counting anoraks that run the group like some kind of paramilitary! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/501st_Legion
  6. Yep, Airsoft tolerances and all that. The longer the suppressor, the more likely it is to not actually line up properly.
  7. Second the E&C gearbox. It's what the original Specnas came with and it's been the basis of at least three builds for me so far.
  8. Be interesting to see if the bucketheads are aware of this place.
  9. Nice! I reckon the vent in your current one is too far forward so it'll limit the max FPS you're going to achieve. Worth a try at least!
  10. Yep, I'd look at changing that to either one with just a notch at the very back or one without a vent at all. Like this https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/cylinders/xt-cylinder-anti-heat-5-6 or https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/cylinders/zci-stainless-steel-cylinder-tip or https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/cylinders/xt-cylinder-anti-heat-closed
  11. I meant, is it a ported cylinder at all? That would explain why you're losing so much pressure.
  12. Sorry, yes you're right. Finger trouble entering 0.25 (put 0.5 by mistake!) What cylinder is in there?
  13. Just for my own edification - at 280 fps on a 0.25 you would be getting 1.82J. What are you aiming for? What cylinder are you using?
  14. If anything the lips on the ML rubber are longer than the OEM one. I highly doubt the overall shorter length is causing a leak though.
  15. Cool, I have one of those and they're decent. It's a PTS EPS (Enhanced Polymer Stock). You'll want a bog standard AEG tube for that: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/big-dragon-receiver-extension-m4-buffer-tube Sling plate wise, this might work https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/metal-asap-sling-plate-for-aeg-m4 depends if/how you want to attach a sling. If you literally just want a plate to cover the hole https://www.davescustomairsoft.co.uk/jg-m4-aeg-stock-plate
  16. There's plenty of "compatible" parts online, the main issue you'll have is that all the sling plates you'll find are aimed at a more standard style of upper receiver instead of the blocky design of your Specna. Other than that, literally any AEG buffer tube should fit and then the world is your oyster for stocks. Note that PTS is a brand, not a type of stock. Pictures would help here.
  17. I assume from the First Strike unit that you're running HPA with a tank in the stock? In that case you'll probably be SOL. If you can change to a standard style buffer tube then there's other stocks you could look at.
  18. To be honest I'm impressed the motor is meshing properly at that angle!
  19. Nice! Although that pistol grip is making my brain itch.
  20. Playing a bit fast and loose with the use of the word "budget" there, aren't you? They average anywhere between £65-£80 a pop! Great motors and I've used a few myself but I wouldn't call them a budget option.
  21. I presume you mean the "Boost" range, rather than the "Ultimate CNC" range? Although personally, I wouldn't call the Boost motors an upgrade.
  22. If you pump air from one tube into a wider tube, the pressure will drop when it enters the larger chamber. Simple physics. By adding wadding the pressure waves will be diffused far better than adding rubber or foam though. Something similar to acoustic wadding or felt would work well, closed cell foam or rubber doesn't actually give the pressure wave far to go. Because of the differences in the way airsoft works compared to real firearms you need to stop thinking about how something like a real suppressor works and more like how you dampen a speaker enclosure or an exhaust muffler. More to the point, as mentioned above - if we're talking about a can on an AEG, what comes out the front is way less of a consideration than what comes from the gearbox and piston assembly.
  23. Not tough enough, it would wear away.
