  1. How scaled down in the trigger guard? I was wondering if you could modify one of these https://airsoft.tiger111hk.com/m60/CYMA/p23336/CYMA-Metal-Trigger-Guard-Assembly-for-M14-AEG-Series/product_info.html might be a bit cheaper?
  2. Sweet! Does the trigger guard not latch into a metal part on that then? Might be better off having something fabbed up in metal. I mean, as in sheet metal rather than 3d printed.
  3. I'm rather ashamed to admit I've paid WAY more than that for a patch before. I should get out more.
  4. Well, he was still limping about with a stick on Sunday! Speaking of which, cracking day at Red Alert! Took the new Gordy clone out for its first proper run and discovered that (at least on the 11.1v I was running it with) it doesn't like most of my midcaps but runs perfectly happily on a hicap. New tappet spring and delay chip for that one I think! The morning was a bit drizzly, but spirits were high, first game wasn't the usual infection style name game but rather the whole morning was a themed drug dealers/gun runners objective based taste of the Battlesim Lite style days. Great fun but a bit of advanced notice would have been appreciated so I could have brought some way of keeping hydrated for two hours out in the humid woods! We (Red team) won that one fairly convincingly, I took a tactical tumble running in to help cover an objective (no serious injuries other than pride, thankfully) but we managed to get ALL THE DRUGSSS!!!!!! After a rather lovely lunch of chicken curry, it was back to more regular short skirmish type games One including some MASSIVE cuddly toys). The knees finally cried enough after that so the last short game of the day was missed. A fair number left through the day (some kicky ball thing was on the telly apparently) but the day started out with 102 players. Decent play all round, decent marshalling (even from hopalong @Skullchewer) and I finally met @GAMBLE too!
  5. Are you using M14 parts? Could you not just use the trigger guard plate that comes from an M14?
  6. Most hop rubbers are not silicone. Some are, most are rubber compounds of varying degrees of hardness. Ambient temperature will absolutely affect a hop rubber in that heat will soften it so you will get more hop for the same setting and less when it's cold and it hardens up.
  7. Sounds like you could be into modding an AK box mag.
  8. Unfortunately, airsoft is an inexact beast at the best of times. Throw into the mix a chrono that is very possibly not terribly accurate or consistent in and of itself and you're on a hiding to nothing. Having been down the rabbit hole of diminishing returns myself, unless you're going to spend the money on a proper calibrated unit like a Skan or something similar then as long as your flyers are within the limits when tested on the site chrono, I'd take the win and leave it at that.
  9. It's 190mm. @ak2m4 might be able to help you out with everything you need!
  10. Fires quite nice too! It'll be getting a run out at Red Alert this weekend so hopefully start picking up some "weathering" naturally!
  11. It was dry this weekend so the rattle cans came out!
  12. I've been building a Lone Survivor style RRV and it's currently nestled in an Eagle 152/MBITR pouch. Old school for the win!
  13. From the Surefire site: The caps are intended to block out low level continuous background noise. The design of the earplug itself is what reduces the impulse of things like loud bangs. I used to use a set in CQB before I started using comms so yeah, give them a go. EP4s would be better though.

  15. I have a pair of the helmet mounted ones and they work pretty well!
  16. If you don't need comms then have a look at the Howard Leight Impact Sport or Earmor as mentioned above. Second hand Peltors might be a shout but good, high quality ear protection can be pretty spendy!
  17. MMMMM....purple is my favourite flavour!
  18. Well, that's....a choice. Also - you don't need to start spamming new threads for the same pics you've already posted elsewhere.
  19. Because they're stupid? Don't assume that anyone that worked on your gun before you knew what they were doing!
  20. Dad's will has just paid out. This could be dangerous....

Good God, my Mum's estate took around 6-7 months to complete.

      Sorry for your loss anyway.

Yeah, we had a buyer then the house flooded and it took the better part of a year to put right (trust me, it was proper fucked).

Sorry to hear that. My dad went last February after his house flooded, and we've just this month got the final payment.  I've formed an active loathing for insurers, solicitors, HMRC, councils and utilities.

Anyway, I've just bought a couple of new toys, because we're none of us on a rehearsal.
